I like to eat some sort of tinned fish for supper three times a week or so, and have had such for many years now.I purchased this to add it to my usual rotation of tuna/octopus/sardines/cod liver. I like mackerel, but really only the high-quality tinned stuff, of which this is an example. I like all the varieties, the other ingredients in the can are consistently high-quality and generous in quantity. The fish is good - meaty and with some grain, but tender. The oil quantity is just right - if you are like me and prefer to sop up the extra oil with good bread, it's a little disappointing not to have much left, but the ingredients flavor the remaining oil well, so it's more interesting than pure olive oil tends to be.It is pricey, especially compared to my other usual fare, but I like to think of it as a special entry into the rotation, something I only have a couple times a month. I'd definitely recommend it if you like tinned fish, or mackerel in particular. I'll order it again when I finish my present box.

This should be in everyone's pantry - super long shelf life - and a quick and delicious protein any time. It makes a delicious snack with some toast or crackers and some hot relish :) In a crisis or when you just can't cook - it's there for you in a pinch.The fish taste is mild and savory - and unlike some other brands - the olive oil actually tastes great!!Get it for the taste and nutrition - keep it around because it's the smart thing to do.

They shipped with no incident, the can had no indentations or any other noticeable defects. This was my first time trying mackerel, and I'm on a bit of a tin fish craze right now (love the protein and other benefits) and to keep things neutral I'm just trying them out of the can alone. The flavor was good, the fish was nice and flakey, could definitely see these being a 5/5 added to a dish of some sorts, that said, mackerel definitely isn't my favorite so far, but these are good nonetheless.

9/2 Update: We got our 2nd Sampler and I tried my own can of Jalapeño, I ate the entire tin. Oh my goodness this can was a little more spicy, but it could have been the peppery arugula. I do wish the price would go down, but we’re here for a 12 pack of Jalapeño ♥️Original review: 1) Lemon - I really wanted to try this one (so my hubby gave me the entire tin). My man johnny wontons on YouTube said this was his favorite. There was so much oil/lemon scent I had to dump all the oil out. Smelled and tasted very lemony but not dry at all. I give it 4⭐️2) Jalapeño - not so spicy it blew my head off, really very flavorful. Two jalapeños on top when you open the tin, without the seeds, not so much oil like the lemon. My husband took the biggest portion of jalapeño because I don’t like spicy and he wanted this the most. Just the right amount of spice for me. We both give 5⭐️Mediterranean - by far this is our favorite, the olives, peppers, herbs and just the right amount of oil. We both give 5⭐️We were taste testing this batch, and my hubby ate the jalapeño and a tin of Mediterranean with crackers and the lemon and some jalapeño were for me with my favorite tomatoes. Thankfully we can get Mediterranean and Olive Oil in our local ShopRite, ACME and Target.Will we get a 12 pack, I wish they were not so expensive or we would definitely get a 12 ok of both the Mediterranean and Jalapeño. I also wish Lemon and Jalapeño were available in our local stores.
