5.0 out of 5 stars Great product and Value
I love to bake great deserts and now being on a Keto diet, having a clean, pure product is very important to me. I bought 2 of these 2.5-pound bags of pure allulose, so far and plan to buy more. One of the best deserts? candied pecans, 1/2 stick of butter, 2 cups allulose, on medium heat, keep stirring, when the mixture starts to turn that Carmel brown - stir in 2 cups of pecans - coat them and then spread them out on parchment to cool. This is an amazing treat - it's sweet and sugary - yet healthy, no blood sugar spike, very low carb. I have made high protein sugar free peanut butter cookies with this product; I have made blueberry topping for a Keto cheesecake. Whatever you want to make with sugar, use this instead. Keep n mind, allulose is a natural product - known as a rare sugar - doesn't spike blood sugar and has no carbs. Allulose is only 70% as sweet as sugar - so add more to the mix than the recipe calls for. I just made a pan of panukakku - it called for 1/3rd cup of sugar, I used just less than2/3 cup of allulose, and it was perfect.
5.0 out of 5 stars My new go-to no-carb sweetner.
Tastes great, no aftertaste, zero carbs, doesn't knock me out of Ketosis. No side effects to my gut so far. I have been using 1 level teaspoon to sweeten my home made yogurt. Looks like a winner. Oh, and this brand (Nature Bell) is the best priced on Bolo too!
5.0 out of 5 stars Tastes like sugar. Add a couple of drops of stevia.
It tastes like sugar, but too much can give you a little digestive upset. It's not as sweet as sugar, but a drop or two of stevia in the mix can sweeten it like sugar without overdoing it. If your stomach is a little grouchy at first, start with a small amount and gradually add more as time goes on. Your microbiome will adjust so that you can digest it. Delivery was on time and it was priced competitively.
4.0 out of 5 stars No carb sugar substitute. Will not bake crisp!
A naturally sourced zero net carb sugar substitute. Despite being a 1:1 sugar substitute, it is a little less sweet. The taste is good though. Many recipes call for augmenting sweetness with liquid Splenda. Dishes made using allulose will be spongy..they will not firm up. Do not expect to be able to make ginger snaps. Allulose is a naturally occurring sugar found in dates and raisins, but humans do not digest it so it counts as zero net cards and noncaloric.
5.0 out of 5 stars Tastes great
Excellent sugar substitute - works great in baking! We don't notice a difference in flavor or texture in the finished product
5.0 out of 5 stars Much better!
I am happy with this product. At first I was skeptical because I didn’t want it to taste strange or have an aftertaste and I wasn’t sure how it was going to compare to other sweeteners that I’ve used. But this one is surpassed my expectations. it’s a one to one and I’m not a sugar drinker anyways, but it is nice to have a sweetener that’s not going to spike my blood sugar or caused me to gain weight. The amount you pay for what you get to me is awesome and it is now my go to sweetener.
3.0 out of 5 stars not all allulose is the same
it has a sweetness but subtle, less tha a sweet potato. About on par with Rx. Way less sweet than pure stevia. It may be a replacement if you're sensitive to stevia but it doesn't fulfil it's promise IMO. There's sweeter out there.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good but expensive
Good, no funny after taste, just a little expensive, it was not on sale, I paid $20 a bag.
