I initially bought a cheaper sort of off-brand drone. I returned it almost immediately and bought the DJI mini 3 (fly more combo). This is a great little drone. Small enough to not require FAA registration. Capable of flying great distances due to frankly amazing battery life and respectable transmission range. It has a theoretical maximum range of 10 km but I've only had it out to 6-7 km and that was from a significantly elevated point. This drone is very easy to fly but it has the performance and subtlety of control that allows for some fairly acrobatic flying, though nothing like an fpv drone - the tilt angle is always going to be limited. Good camera quality and some "quick shots" features that allow one to take semi-automated video shots in different patterns. The DJI mini 3 does not have any obstacle avoidance feature which does come on the DJI mini 3 pro, for a little more. I have lost RC signal a number of times and each time it has obediently flown back on its own until signal returned and I could take control again. With the 3 batteries, each lasting easily over 30 minutes without cutting it close (30% or so still on the battery) and a recharge time of just over an hour per battery, you can fly this thing almost continuously. A really great drone for the money.

You will not go wrong with this purchase. It takes amazing video and pictures. It's just a joy to fly and trust me it's worth every penny! The only thing I added was a tablet holder instead of the phone holder. Just like the larger viewing area. One other thing; purchase the DJI Care Refresh Plan from their website. It's absolutely worth it because you will crash at some point.

Get the B4Ufly app on Google and the Apple store. It will warn you if the President is in town and UAS (government for "drone") and drone flying is illegal via TFR. This isn't a political comment; this is for every presidential visit, and approx: 35 miles from where s/he will be.Also, get the proper memory card. I had some laying around that were not the speed needed, and the drone refused to use them. I suppose that's a good thing.I got this for a Birth-Mas (my birthday is around Christmas, so I get a large present for both), and I originally got the Costco package, but this one is much better for the same price, as it includes the better controller for the same price at the expense of the $8 memory (64GB) card.If I were looking for a DJI Mini 3, I would get this package in a heartbeat. I did return this, as I wanted the Mini 4 after getting this one, but for those that want the Mini 3 (non-pro), also consider these additional expenses, which you will need for any DJI drone you purchase:DJI Warranty (Strongly recommended, 2 years of protection for crashes): $952 256GB Memory cards (1 for the drone, 1 for the controller): $40Sun Shield: $20Lanyard: $15

Great drone. I am so glad I bought the fly more kit-the flight time is good but it’s so nice to swap between batteries and keep flying. Always have one ready to go!The controller with built in screen is also really great.Shipping was good, one of the updates was “delayed at customs” but it showed more info on the carriers tracking than what Bolo showed, and it was only at customs for a few hours.

Es un dron muy fácil de operar, la calidad de DJI lo avala.Para los que dicen que no vienen las palancas del control, vienen en la parte de la base del control incrustadas en su compartimento.Es un dron ligero y si llega a sufrir un poco con vientos incluso leves, pero es buena opción para un primer dron.

Amazing drone/flying tripod camera!
We have three "entry level" (Ascend, 4VRC) drones but I was looking to upgrade. We started droning in about 2021 when entry drones were about $50 at Costco. I noticed Costco had the DJI Mini 2 SE so I thought I'd try it out. As I was waiting for the order, this DJI Mini 3 went on sale (28% off) on Prime day so I bought it too.I tried out both these drones and wow - compared to entry level, these DJI drones are amazing! These two drones (DJI Mini 3 and DJI Mini 2 se) are more expensive, but these drones practically fly themselves when hovering and are about 20% the workload to fly and the pictures/videos are amazing. The camera and gimbal are excellent at keeping the screen on target, even in high wind.I decided to stick with the Mini 3 over the Mini 2 SE since it had a better camera sensor (4k vs 2.7k, better video in darker scenarios), better upwards looking (60 degrees vs 20, almost 80 degrees if the Mini 3 camera is flipped for my own obstacle avoidance) and better battery time. The Mini 3 is also slightly larger (easier to spot at longer ranges for visual line of sight) and the larger rotors make a lower pitch which make it less noisy, in my opinion.Note: the Remote Control works great with a Lenovo M10 Plus gen 3 (10 inch) tablet however I have to reboot the tablet to get it to connect to the RC - no biggie. The RC also works with a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and a TCN Ion Z cellphone ($50 but lags a bit) from Walmart.
