5.0 out of 5 stars 5" orbital pneumatic sander/polisher
I used this orbital polisher to remove the oxidation and restore the original red paint color on my 20 year old boat. The pads secure quickly and easily to the base. The orbital pneumatic polisher does all the work. I'm pleased with the outcome and recommend this tool.
5.0 out of 5 stars Better than mouse sander
I typically use a mouse sander, but the vibration has been bothering my wrist. This is much easier on the joints and ears, and works really well. I can be really strong depending on air pressure and grit, so use caution.
3.0 out of 5 stars Works large area, steady, handles easily.
DOTOOL 5”(127 mm) Random Orbit Pneumatic Sander Self-Vacuum Sander Air Powered Professional Dual Action Polishing Palm Sander MAX 12000 RPM for Auto Body Automotive, Wood Working. This sander works pretty well given it's size which is a bit on the large side. It's great for larger projects but not for smaller (like a chair). The other drawback is it is electrical and has a cord and these days that really is unnecessary. The cord gets in the way, needs extension cords, etc. I do not recommend this item.
4.0 out of 5 stars works great!
Great for small projects, as a beginner this was fairly easy to use. the instructions are very clear!
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice and Smooth -- Great Sander
Okay - I will start by admitting this is my first air driven sander, and it took me a bit to get it set up for first use. I neglected to realize that there was a plastic cap inside the air connection bolt, and so ended up taking the connector completely apart before realizing my mistake. After recognizing my error, it went together easily. The instructions call for using painters tape on the quick connect adapter treads - I would second that. Without it you will have a constant slow leak around the connection. The instructions also call for 4.5@90 PSI SCFM, with a (deeper in the manual) 3@90 SCFM minimum. I only have a 2.6@90 SCFM compressor - but it still works great for light use.Actually, “works great” is an understatement. It is well balanced in my hand, and it has a very wide random orbit (you can visually see the sanding head as it shifts) which really minimizes any potential for swirl. If you ignore the noise of the compressor / vacuum, the sander itself is very quiet. The vacuum attachment also works really well - it pulls the dust off my work piece as I go, allowing me to pause less frequently and leaving the air in my shop greatly improved over prior sanding sessions.I am very happy to have added this handy sander to my woodworking arsenal.P.S. - The sander does not come with any initial sanding pads, you'll need to get some to start with.
