5.0 out of 5 stars Good value item
We settled on this model after reviewing other similar items. We picked this one because it was rated to hold more than twice the weight of other similar models, which we figured indicated a better quality of materials. It arrived a day earlier than scheduled, well packed and in good condition, with no missing pieces. In fact in included one extra of each of the wooden structural shapes (except the shelves, which come pre-assembled). I did not use the included gloves in assembling the unit, and did not need to, as I had very little of the carbonized finish staining my hands. There are a LOT of pieces, so we sorted them by number before beginning. The instructions indicated a twenty-minute assembly time, but with two of us working, it still took just over an hour. Regardless, the assembly procedure is laid out step-by-step, and seemed very clear. If you have assembled a LEGO kit with your kids, it's an almost identical process. You make a series of sub-assemblies, then use them to create the larger piece. Overall, the assembly process was kind of fun, watching the finished piece take shape, step by step.A few of the wooden pieces had a slight bow, but that did not affect the result. The plastic joiners have just enough flex to account for that. We found the key to a good result was making very sure all joints were secure by pounding them all the way into the joiner with the mallet. We assembled it on a thick rug, which made it easier. The fully assembled shelf unit is VERY sturdy. It does not wobble or shake, and as long as heavier plants are placed near the bottom, it should not present a tipping hazard. Brackets to secure it to a wall are included, but we did not find it necessary to use themOverall, we are very happy that we chose the heavier unit, which is marked as an "Upgrade" for less than ten additional dollars. It looks great against our window wall.
5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy and Lots of Room
It was fairly easy to put together. I did have to take a few things apart, but with lots of patience it wasn't bad. Follow the instructions carefully! I fit lots of plants on it, it's sturdy, and I'm very happy with my purchase. Looks great!
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice but not easy to put together
Love the size and actually quite easy to put together once I got the hang of it. The mallet that was provided immediately fell apart, which is the reason for my 4 star review, so I had to resort to a hammer. And had to have my husband help interpret whether I was doing it correctly. Even with both of us checking, I put some of the parts together wrong and had to take them apart, which was no easy task. Took about 90 minutes. But I love the look of the stand and can’t wait to put it in my window.
5.0 out of 5 stars Esthetically pleasing
Holds up well. Easy to assemble (even though it seems overwhelm at first). Lightweight but durable. I have 15 plants on it, including 2 trees (avocado and palm)
5.0 out of 5 stars Great stand for the money!
I was a little worried when I first opened the box and saw all the pieces, but this stand went together fairly easy once I got going. The directions were easy to follow and once together the stand is quite sturdy. It is holding my plants very well and was a perfect size for my needs.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not very sturdy but fine for smaller plants
The EnHomee 63''H Upgrade Plant Stand looks nice in our sunroom but was a bear to assemble (if you follow their directions). We finally gave up on trying to follow their instructions and simply put it together based on the photo of the assembled unit. There are a LOT of pieces, so to start you need to segregate all of the pieces - this is especially true for the different lengths of wood.As you assemble the unit, you will see that it is not the sturdiest unit on Earth, meaning that (1) you need to move it carefully with two people into its final resting place, and (2) do not attempt to move the unit even slightly with plants on it. The unit itself is stable so you don't need to worry about it tipping over. And once it is filled with plants, it surely will not topple over!Because the directions were difficult to follow (and seem to have been written by someone whose native tongue is not English) and took up a good 40 minutes or so before giving up on them and going free-style with the photo, it took us about 1.5 hours to put it together in full. We purposefully took our time in doing it, so you can probably get it done in half that time (at least!).The gloves and other garden implements supplied in the kit were either made for a child or a very small elderly lady that owns a sunbonnet and hankerchief. Nice as a selling point, but not very practical to us. I'm 6'1" and 265 lbs, so there was no way the gloves would fit me. The tiny trowel might be useful in working with small potted plants. The rake? No idea...Bottom line: We like the unit (I wish it were larger) and think it is of good value considering its price. It's fine for our sunroom, but I'm not sure I would want it in the house proper.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to assemble and sturdy!
I was a little intimidated when I saw how many pieces were in the box, but it ended up being really simple to assemble. Just be sure to pay attention to the instructions and which direction to put the fasteners. It’s beautiful. I can’t stop looking at it and I’m really really happy that I made this purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars Really saved some space
Well made, easy to put together, and holds almost all of my plants, and I have a bunch.
