5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely sound, excellent quality, really nice amp.
This amp has such a warm and relaxing sound. I use it at the office, and it runs all day flawlessly. Music that otherwise sounds tiring when listening in my car, sounds surprisingly inviting and nuanced when hearing it through this amp. It is especially good for low volume listening (I have it paired with small Wharfedale speakers and a sub). The feature-list is great for the price when you consider the phono input, subwoofer output and Bluetooth connectivity. You won't be disappointed.
5.0 out of 5 stars Grand sound stage
Bought for the sole purpose of matching an affordable tube (hybrid, though) amp with the Martin Logan Electromotion ESL.One music streamed from Bolo Unlimited sums up the results: Moon Light on Spring Water. Multiple musical instruments (percussion drums, string, synth, gongs, chorus, etc.) filled the entire space between the speakers, from floor to ceiling. I WAS on the conductor's podium.Transparent, detailed, and ethereal sound was 7 min of nirvana. An excellent DAC, seamless BT connection, no noise, and no heat. Volume was never an issue. I do not use a remote or phono, so no comment.Lastly, it is beautifully built.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great bang for the buck.
OK, here is the deal with this little gem. I love the look and Youtube has never sounded better in my headphones. The FM tuner sounds OK, but that's just radio. It works really really well, and has a nice tube sound, but as many have said the bass is a little on the lose side and it more tight sounding, but I have not broken in the tubes as of yet, I might report back after 100 hours and see how it sounds then. Also one more thing it like others have said it would be nice to have the volume control with more control (it goes from soft to loud pretty fast) So If your having people over you might like it a little less loud, but not to soft sounding either. I see the company was asking about the volume control and I gave it a 4 star because of that. The remote control is very nice to have, it's pretty light weight but it does not have AA battery's in it (to give it much weight) So I think that's why people think it's cheap but it fells fine to me, and works great. Response is a little slow to turn up the volume, but still it's nice to have. This has a great price point and you get a lot for the money, a couple more input jacks for other gear would of been nice too. I fell Parts Express has put out a very nice product for someone looking for a more detailed or 3d sound stage with lots of warmth. Just a little more work and this could be a 5 star winner, it's so close.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great amp for the price
Looks: Has a classic touch, compliments my vintage turntable. Very well built for its price.Sound: I’m no audiophile but it surely is a step up from my entry level solid state amps which cost more than the HTA200. What impressed me the most was the wide soundstage and the added warmth without compromising detail especially on the highs. Channel separation is very present even in a small 10ftx10ft room. ADVICE: if using a turntable, preferably use a separate pre-amp, using the PHONO input, sound can be a little too warm and has low gain. So far so good!
4.0 out of 5 stars The best by far for your dollar
This Amplifier isn't perfect. But for the money it is the real deal. Soundstage, channel separation, warmth. It is my recommendation for those vinyl fans just getting into the genre. If you are hesitant to spend an arm and a leg, buy this unit and don't look back... just enjoy.
5.0 out of 5 stars Why 5 Stars? I'll Tell you why.
First I respect the views of others. Although I had to shake my head as I read some of them.Maybe some people are " Glass Half Empty vs Half Full Types" Things like " The remote is not that smooth"This is true. However another way to look at it is OMG!! this unit HAS a remote at this price point?Another person says he can't believe that you physically have to turn on the unit by pressing a button on the unit vs the remote. BTW both those things are true.Let em see if I can give some context here. I got this unit to be a secondary unit for the bedroom. It is NOT may main unit. My main system is around $15,000. Hopefully you are sitting down when you read this. This unit does not sound as good as my $15,000 endgame System in the media room. I still have to push the power on manually on the $2,000 preamp as well as the $3000 Power amp. The horror, the horror.I can say that I don't get the detail retrieval that I have with my main system. (Ya think?) Here is the bottom line. As a second system to build or even a main system, if you want something nice but don't have a lot of money. PLEASE do not let people who have no conception of what things cost and what constitutes value deter you. I was streaming from my Blue Tooth enabled device in less than 5 Min Flat.Sounds decent out the box. Sounds better after a few days of steady running. I don't want them to raise the price, because this is a great value and no one has the right to be angry with you for buying it..I do not compare it to my Endgame system, anymore than I compare my Endgame System to the 50,000 DAC Hooked up to a 250,000 Integrated amp that I heard at the audio show. IF you live on earth as most of us do, then RUN!! don't walk to pick up this unit IF your needs and expectations are modest. If that IS the case then you will smile from ear to ear. As both your needs and expectation will be exceeded. Vs those who are mad because it dose not come with someone to take it out the box at set it up for them all for 350.00 The cheapest component in my endgame system is almost 3 times the cost of this all in one package. Sometimes you get MORE than what you paid for.I don't own stock in the company. or got anything from them. Spend your big money on pairing this with the best speakers you can afford, and there's no reason for anyone to scarf at you.Enjoy
