5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent with caveats plus six month update
First I want to say this is an amazing excellent product that does exactly what it says. It is super sensitive, picks up every breath accurately, and gives great peace of mind. There are a few things to know.Volume level. It is loud enough that we can hear it across the hall with both doors open. Easily heard through a baby monitor.Wearability. Most newborns are going to be swaddled and be in sleep and play outfits. By design you have to clip this to a diaper or pant waist then you will still want to put a swaddle over it. If you have two layers with a sleep and play and swaddle chances are you won't see the green light. I like the green light bc it shows me at quick glance my baby is still breathing in the dark night. I find that it's best to put the sleep and play on then rest the sensor on the belly then put the swaddle on. Doing so you can still see the light blinking. It comes with a risk bc the monitor may move if your baby wiggles a lot and false alert if it no longer makes good contact with the belly. To solve this I honestly wish the maker of this product would have like a little elastic waist band that you could put around the sleep and play before putting on the swaddle.Overall I would buy it again bc I think it's one of the better products on the market.six month update...I would buy this 10 times over. it is super easy to use and super accurate. you can clip it onto a diaper and then put on clothes and then a sleep sack and turn on the audible beep so you can hear the ticking instead of seeing the green light which is awesome because I can hear it through the baby monitor and I know that he's still breathing.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for peace of mind!
I heard mixed reviews on items like the Snuza or Owlet sock because in some cases, they can make anxieties worse. So I opted not to put anything like this on our baby registry and see how things went after our baby arrived. Unfortunately, right after delivery our baby was whisked away to the NICU for respiratory distress after aspirating some meconium. I don’t wish seeing your minutes old newborn being ventilated on anyone. A week long stay in the NICU had me PANICKING for what sleep at home would look like. My husband and I decided on the Snuza because the Owlet has a lot of reviews regarding malfunctioning/giving off alerts in error and our wifi is so spotty that we didn’t want something that only worked connected to wifi. The Snuza has given me peace of mind when it comes to our baby sleeping safely. I love the green light that blinks every time it registers stomach movement and that you can also turn on a clicking sound in case you can’t see the green light due to clothes and swaddles. An alert went off once that it hadn’t registered any stomach movement in 15 seconds and it woke me right up. The next alert that goes off if they haven’t moved by 20 seconds is even louder. I am so thankful this product exists because it allows me to sleep at night knowing our baby is safe.
5.0 out of 5 stars Better option for us
I have been in the market for a baby movement monitor and was uncertain of the best option for our family. I ended up buying the Owlet on Prime Day because it was on sale and I could use my FSA money. I was on the fence about the such and hated it almost immediately after purchase. From the uncomfortable fit to the connection issues, it just wasn’t the right system for me. I’ll leave a separate review under that product.Once I finally decided to pull the trigger on the Snuza I have been pleasantly surprised! For anyone wanting simplicity, this product is for you!1. It is very simple to use! Only a few buttons and no app connection2. The alerts are loud enough for the average person3. The clip is sturdy, but not too difficult to clip to the diaper.4. The device is a lot smaller than anticipated and doesn’t bother my baby at all while she sleeps. She lays on her belly when on me (burping to sleep) and it doesn’t bother her one bit)
5.0 out of 5 stars Don't think anymore about it- MUST BUY
I cannot even begin to express how much I love this device. After having issues with the connectivity of an Owlet, I decided to purchase this item. So far, it has been amazing. I love how there is little to do to turn it on/off, and how it does not connect through wifi or a phone, and so is very portable. Battery life seems fantastic so far, have owned it for >1 month with 12+ daily hour wear and there is no indication of the battery being low or needing changed thus far. This is absolutely my top baby device I have ever purchased and it gives me so much peace of mind.
5.0 out of 5 stars A lifesaver, but with many false alarms
This thing definitely works! It’s super sensitive to movement and has alerted us a few times in the night when our baby was breathing very very shallowly, so we are very grateful for the device. We have been using it nightly for months and it hasn’t needed any battery changes. However, be prepared for it to slide off your baby’s diaper if they are active sleepers or lift off their stomach if they sleep with their butt up in the air - we have had many false alarms due to those things happening, but we’d rather be safe than sorry. You have to try to get it on the diaper rather snug. Also, the alarm can be pretty quiet, especially if baby is laying on their stomach and it muffles the sound. We keep our video baby monitor on full volume and I have it right next to my head when I sleep so I am sure to wake up if I hear the alarm. If you are a light sleeper, it should wake you, but if you are a heavy sleeper then it may not.Overall - this device was a lifesaver for me when my baby was a newborn and I was terrified of SIDS. I could not have slept without it due to the anxiety. So highly recommend if you are wanting to rest a little easier and get more sleep!
Peace of mind
After our preemie spent the first months of his life at the NICU, we were worried about a lot of things when he was discharged but with the snuza hero, we had peace of mind! It just made the transition home easier for all of us.
Best purchase i've ever made.
If you're considering this, buy it.It's not the cheapest, granted - but a bargain for the peace of mind it gives you.Compared to the pressure plates and the AI camera (which I found to be woefully unreliable) - this Snuza does one thing, and it does it very well.hands down the best money I've ever spent on any item. i'd give it 6 stars if I could.
100/10 SO MUCH PEACE OF MIND!!
This small device has brought me SO much peace of mind it’s ridiculous. And it actually works really well. I have tested it off my baby and sure enough, it beeps and vibrates within 15 seconds when it’s not sensing breathing, then another 15 or so after that, goes off and makes a ton of noise and vibration. As a first time mom, this has been an absolute godsend. I would shout it from the rooftops and recommend it to anyone and everyone. There is another one called the Snuza MD that I also have that is an actual medical grade approved device.
