5.0 out of 5 stars Replaced my 35 year old ice skates!
First, I have to give a tribute to my old ice skates. I got them when I was 14 or 15 from the J.C. Penny catalog. This was back when the penny's catalog was a thick book with glossy color pages of everything you could think of that you might need. I bought them with my baby sitting money. I think they were around $40. When you make $3 an hour that was a lot of money. I had been a self-taught mall ice rink skater for a long time always wearing the orange plastic rental skates and dreaming of my own pair of white skates that would make me a real skater. My prized white skates served me well for 30 plus years until I had to admit that they were now too small and they killed my feet.So new skates were in order now that my grown daughter is taking adult beginner lessons so that she can take her kids skating some day like I took her skating. My new skates feel soooooooo good on my feet. They are the right size (God bless) and wider than my old skates to give room for pregnancy and gravity induced foot spread over the last 30 years. Taking them out for a spin at the rink with my daughter was great fun. My skating is a. little slower and a little more convervative than it once was but brings back so many fun memories and was lovely to share that time with my daughter. For a pair of recreational, "I just want pretty white skates not rental skates" these are a great choice.

These are so pretty! Very comfortable and kept my feet warm. Totally worth the price!
4.0 out of 5 stars Worth getting, with some advice
Full disclosure, my household is full of skaters. Really good skaters who have been skating our whole lives. So, some of my comments may be unrelated to what most people would see or expect in these skates but keep in mind it's coming from someone who knows skates very well.Okay. Now, where to start. The laces. They are horrible and useless. They are only on there because they look cool, and they will tighten the skate but these laces should never belong on a pair of skates. The tongue. While puffy tongues look very comfortable, and they do make things nice and soft, they really don't belong on skates. Sturdy firm tongues, sure, but puffy gives way too much sponge in the top fit.The outsole. Very cool colors, and nice smooth finish but they scuff easily. Not really a huge complaint of mine, but my daughter was not too happy about it. Oh well, she needs to look at it like a sign of good use.The blades. Oh boy. This one does not sit well with me. It's not the skates fault, or the metal because the blades look to be high quality along with how it's attached, but they come pre sharpened. Whoever is in charge of the factory part where they sharpen them have no idea about skates. It's a very crude sharpening, and I had to go over each blade about 20 times to get a 5/8" hollow. It's like they had a very deep hollow, like 1/32 which is crazy deep and unheard of in skates, and the "trench" was very rough and unfinished.I really don't mind sharpening skates when I get them since I have my own machine, and I believe all skates should be sharpened when new no matter what, but don't put a crazy grind on it where I have to use a whole grinding wheel to fix it.While I have my comments and opinions, overall they are very decent skates. Especially for beginners. Unless you skate professionally you really can't go wrong with them. They are well built and comfortable, and have a very good firmness to side flex ratio.
5.0 out of 5 stars Wife loves them
Wife loves these skates! They fit her great and seem comfortable. She is looking forward to getting the blades sharpened and doing some ice skating this winter!
5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable skates
The skates are perfect for my occasional recreational skating. I learned to skate in my teens and now want to pick it up again. They fit me well, providing excellent support around the ankles and looking great. Compared to my old pair, this one is more stylish. They glide smoothly on the ice, and I am very happy with them.
5.0 out of 5 stars Looks Great
I bought these ice skates for my girlfriend. The skates already come sharp and they have a removable plastic protector on them so you don’t cut yourself while putting them on. She has tried them on at home but hasn’t been able to take them on the ice yet. She says they are very comfortable and she can’t wait to wear them to the rink!
1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
I bought these ice-skates for my daughter for her 14th birthday. She has been taking ice-skating lessons once a week with a couple of weeks off and on. Her birthday is in November. Here we are in March, and she is still complaining that they hurt her feet. I just thought they needed broken in and since she only wears them once a week it would take a while. Now that I know that is not the case, they say they will not accept a refund or replacement after 30 days. Not really enough time to try out ice-skates.
4.0 out of 5 stars A bit narrow in front
Not truesize. I wear size 7, always order an 8 in boots for socks and comfort. But these skates in 8 feels like a 7. Very tight front.
