This mini hatchet is phenomenal! Came very sharp with a edge that can be easily honed to a razors edge! This product is in the gold vein of a Gransfors Bruk design. The price is right! Compared to a axe from Gransfors costing 4x as much. The steel holds an edge fairly well! And can be resharpen right back after the days done. I am so pleased with this item. Very good sheath with a center welt! Even comes with a sharpening stone and 2 extra wedge’s if you ever would need them. The only thing I found wrong was that the wood grain was the wrong direction ( but for how much force the axe handle would need to split the handle is negotiable if it can even be done by man ) rest assured this is a good purchase!! The handle was set properly with no spaces around the head. This hatchet is designed for limbing, splitting small logs , hammering ,carving and doing about 90% of bushcraft projects. You can choke up on this baby and carve with great accuracy and control! I bought a leather strike protector ( Bolo for 15.00 ) and this axe is now turning heads at the camp grounds and at my Bushcraft club.

I didn't need another hatchet but this thing was just so cool looking. I'm glad I got it!! The craftsmanship, finish, and heft are very impressive. Pretty enough to hang on the wall for decoration. Functional enough to get to work with...pretty awesome buy.
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice woodworking hatchet, but broke during 2nd use!
edit - the seller sent me a replacement since my handle broke, and this one seems to be holding up well. I have used it several times with no issues. The forged head had a good edge on it, but some basic sharpening made it even better and it has held the edge well. I've increased my rating to 4 stars. The handle is a little too thick for my comfort (mens size L glove) and made my hand tire more quickly. I did do some shaping of the handle, which has helped some.This is actually a pretty good value. Nice forged head and decent handle. However, the handle broke off inside the head while I was working on a bowl. This was only the second time using it, and I didn’t ever have any overstrikes.

VERY SHARP. NICE BUILD. Legal weapon.Plastic holster. Wont last long. With daily use. But does. The trick. Short term.IT IS VERY SHARP! You cut meat. with it.. far to easily. But I wanted it sharp.

Initially thought this was a great buy.. before I even used it though, I picked at some glue looking residue at the top of the hatchet and the whole head became loose.. they tried to tighten it with wood glue. Not even safe to use. Would avoid.

I really wanted to love this hatchet. I initially bought 2 to compare the quality. Of the two, one clearly had some fitment issues and appeared to have some wood filler used to secure the head since the handle had been over sanded; that one got sent back immediately. The 2nd one actually looked really nice and promising. It looked it was going to be a great deal for the price. Unfortunately, this hatchet when used on a recent camping trip survived maybe 10 strikes before the head broke off from the shock of impact (no the handle did not make contact). This was really disappointing and rendered useless from that point on. Overall, it had potential, but quality issues make this a gamble at best.

Bought this to carry on my belt in a belt axe holder for tooling around in the woods. Axe is SHARP, it cut through the blade protector that fits over blade before the leather blade cover. For the price it is worth it. Will be buying more for the kids.

Stilvolle, kompakte leichte Axt
The media could not be loaded. Ich bin positiv überrascht von dieserAxt die noch noch nicht lange auf Bolo zu kaufen gibt ! Habe für den Preis nicht erwartet doch so positiv überrascht zu sein.Zunächst einmal ist die Größe der Axt perfekt für meine Bedürfnisse. Mit einer Länge von 27 cm liegt sie gut in der Hand und ermöglicht eine präzise Handhabung. Obwohl sie kompakt ist, erfüllt sie dennoch ihre Aufgabe mit Bravour und spaltet Holz mühelos. Natürlich nicht wie eine große mit sehr großen Gewicht, dass dürfte jedem klar sein.Ein weiterer Pluspunkt ist das geringe Gewicht der Axt. Mit nur 700g ist sie leicht zu handhaben und ermüdet die Hand auch bei längeren Arbeiten nicht so schnell. Das macht sie zu einem idealen Begleiter für Campingausflüge oder andere Outdoor-Aktivitäten.Die Verarbeitung der Axt wirkt für mich für dieses Geld echt super..Ich habe bereits einige Holzarbeiten mit ihr erledigt und für meine Bedürfnisse hat sie den Test bestanden.Besonders beeindruckt bin ich von der mitgelieferten Axtscheide aus Rindsleder. Sie schützt nicht nur die scharfe Schneide der Axt, sondern verleiht ihr auch einen stilvollen und rustikalen Look. Die Axtscheide ist gut verarbeitet und lässt sich einfach an der Gürtelschlaufe befestigen, sodass die Axt immer griffbereit ist.Fazit: Die Axt hat mich durch ihre kompakte Größe, ihr leichtes Gewicht und ihre hochwertige Verarbeitung überzeugt. Mit der stilvollen Axtscheide aus Rindsleder ist sie nicht nur funktional, sondern auch ein echter Hingucker. Ich bin absolut zufrieden und kann sie für diesen Preis weiterempfehlen!

Tutto come da offerta. Lama sega un poco sottile ma ideale anche per diametri da 15 cm. Basta usarla con cautela.Nella somma è bilanciata, l'accetta meglio se affilarla, peccato non abbia la testa a martello.

The media could not be loaded. Ich bin immer etwas skeptisch wenn ich ein Produkt aus China bekomme. Dieses Mal war dies aber unbegründet.Handhabung und Material:Die Axt liegt gut in der Hand. Mit ca. 700g liegt sie im Mittelmaß was Handäxte angeht. Griff wirk solide und lässt sich gut greifen. Leider etwas zu kurz. Die Scheide ist, laut Herstellerangaben, aus Echtleder.Der Axtkopf sieht gut verarbeitet aus. Hat durch sein Gewicht eine gute Kopflast. Die Schneide ließ sich gut schärfen. Die Axt wurde aber in einer ordentlichen Grundschärfe geliefert.Der Stahl ist laut Hersteller 55HRC. Fande ihn einen Tick zu weich.Materialfehler habe ich keine erkannt.Holzarbeiten und sonstige Verwendung:Mit der Axt konnte ich problemlos oberarmdickes Holz zerkleinern. Dünneres Geäst ohne jegliche Probleme.Erstellen von Feathersticks lief problemlos.Auch das Schneiden von Gemüse wäre möglich wenn man kein anders geeignetes Werkzeug zur Verfügung hat.Die Hammerfunktion ist sinnvoll.Preis/Leistung:Im Preis/Leistungsbereich schneidet die Axt von Freelander überdurchschnittlich stark ab. Keine 40€ für ein solides Arbeitsgerät, welches auf den ersten Blick nicht die typischen Mängel aufweist, welche Produkte aus China normalerweise haben.Durch das überdurchschnittliche Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und die für mich ansprechende Optik gebe ich 5 Sterne.
handliches kleines Beil für Outdooraktivitäten
Auf der Suche nach einem stilvollen kleinen Beil zum spalten von Kleinholz für Lagerfeuer und zum groben schnitzen von Weichholz bin ich bei Bolo auf dieser Seite fündig geworden.Ich habe bewusst die etwas teurere Variante mit dem Stiel aus Walnussholz mit dem rustikalem Aussehen gewählt weil sie mir am besten gefiel.Die Lieferung war bei Bolo wie immer sehr schnell.Auspacken und los geht es zum kleinholzspalten.Was mir als negativ auffiel war die etwas wackelige Einstielung des Beils und eine Außermittige Befestigung des Stiels im Axtkopf. Den Axtkopf habe ich nun durch das Eintreiben von zwei kleineren Querkeilen ordentlich befestigen können. Für den Hersteller würde ich anregen den Beilstiel vor der Befestigung mit Längs und Querkeil vorher mit einem geeigneten Kleber einzukleben. Bei der Schmiedearbeit stürz mich hauptsächlichst die Außermittige Befestigung des Beilstieles. Da könnte vielleicht noch etwas nachgebessert werden.Zur Pflege des Axtkopfes verwende ich Ballistol Universalöl und für den Beilstiel Schaftöl der Firma Ostermann. Es wäre aber auch möglich einfach Leinöl für die Holzpflege zu verwenden.Den Axtkopfrücken würde ich persönlich nicht als Hanmmer verwenden und zum Holzspalten würde ich auch niemals mit einem Schlosserhammer auf den Axtkopfrücken schlagen sondern nur mit einem Gummihammer oder einem Holzscheit.Fazit : Axtkopfgeometrie und Einstielung sind mittelmäßig, deshalb habe ich auch einen Stern in meiner Bewertung abgezogen.Grundschärfe und die Güte des verwendeten Stahls sind gut.Preis Leistungsverhältnis :das Beil mit seinem urigem Aussehen kann sich sehen lassen und schlägt bei mir die anderen Hersteller bei denen man wesentlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen müsste.Über die Langlebigkeit bei guter Pflege kann ich hier leider noch nichts sagen, ich hoffe aber das ich das Beil einmal meinen Enkelkindern weiter vererben kann.
