5.0 out of 5 stars Works well and as great range
I installed this unit in a metal equipment rack and remoted the antenna to the top of the rack. Works great throughout a large ballroom, about 100'. LCD display is nice to see who is connected and what is playing. The 'M' on the pair button is confusing?? But otherwise a great a value.
5.0 out of 5 stars Simple setup
Easy setup right out of the box. Sound quality is great and the unit feels well made. I'd recommend this to a friend.
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice
Works well. Would be nice to have the ability to add a bracket as I use it in. a vehicle, but it has no/very little ground noise compared to cheap competitors.
5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT addition!
I bought this to replace my Bluetooth receiver that I bought a few years back. Now, I will say that my previous Bluetooth receiver was about $20 and functioned fine.BUT, this little gem is quite an upgrade. Sound quality is phenomenal. I hear nuances that my previous Bluetooth receiver lost. Additionally, this unit has great dB! Range is 2x greater than my previous unit as well! I live in a 2800sq ft, 3 floor house & I can go ANYWHERE...up or down!
5.0 out of 5 stars Superb
Very nice and discreet. No dropouts. outputting direct to high current amplifier hence proving to have more than adequate RCA current to drive amp without a preamp.
5.0 out of 5 stars Quality !
Great sound quality and LED display, built in equalizer that works amazing. Range is incredible. This is well worth the price !
5.0 out of 5 stars Plug and Play capability for converting analog to bluetooth.
This bluetooth receiver is a good option for those looking to add wireless capability to an analog sound system. It worked straight out of the box with no setup, and connected right away. This allowed me to add high-fidelity wireless connection to my analog speaker, which I had previously needed a cumbersome audio cable connection to operate.Pros:- Compact in size, yet functional with good reception range.- all metal construction gives it a sturdy, premium feel.- Plug and play capability and quick connection times makes it easy to set up.- integrated display screen that displays media file info; this is a feature not found on many similar products. the screen works as intended and gives the receiver a fun "retro-tech" look. This is a selling point for me.- all necessary cables included with product, allowing connection to a range of analog sound systems.Cons:- product needs both audio cables to connect to sound system, as well as its own power cable. This makes cable management a slight issue and makes this product less portable than other alternatives.- at $129 , it's on the higher end of the price range for analog-to-bluetooth receivers. While it has premium features (display screen, good quality bluetooth chip, plug and play capability, metal construction), there are definitely cheaper options that can do most of what this can do. I would consider this a premium product that is best suited for audiophiles and for those wanting to get bluetooth functionality out of their existing analog audio system.Overall, I am impressed with the quality and functionality of this product. It was an immediate upgrade to my sound system, which had previously needed to be directly plugged in to my phone/laptop. If you are looking for a way to get modern functionality out of an analog sound system, this is a great product for that purpose. While there are cheaper options available, the premium features on this receiver are worth it if you value high-fidelity audio in a format that is easy to use.
3.0 out of 5 stars Expensive For What It Is
It appears to be a nice, well made unit out of the box. It is made out of metal, and comes with various connection cable options to allow you to connect it to any type of audio input, on the consumer scale, within reason. They even include the wall wart USB power supply!!! It seems so many manufacturers have forgotten to put that bit in their packages these days.Setup can be a bit fiddly for the Bluetooth connection, but once you have it up, the unit delivers a nice clear stereo signal. The problem comes with the Bluetooth connection. Many Bluetooth speakers are passive connection, (they sit there waiting for you to establish a signal from your Bluetooth device), and when you are done, they allow you to disconnect that connection, and await the next time you might want to connect. This unit has an active Bluetooth connection like your car radio. ( It is constantly looking for your paired device, and will automatically connect to it, without any intervention from you.) Plus an active Bluetooth connection type may allow you to momentarily disconnect, but then immediately reestablish the connection on its own. This is fine for your car, but not what you may want in your home, as you travel from room to room.
Well featured with superior build quality
The media could not be loaded. Today, I'm evaluating the 1Mii DS220 Hi-Res Bluetooth Receiver, a device that promises to bridge the gap between wireless convenience and high-fidelity audio. The unboxing experience is comprehensive, with the manufacturer thoughtfully including a diverse array of connectivity options: a USB power cable with wall adapter, RCA interconnects, a Toslink optical cable, and a USB cable for digital audio input. This attention to detail ensures compatibility with a wide range of audio setups.Setup is remarkably straightforward: attach the supplied antenna, power up the unit via the USB adapter, and select your preferred connection method. The Bluetooth pairing process is equally seamless; the DS220 was immediately recognized by my iPhone, appearing as "DS220" in the device list. Within seconds, I was streaming high-quality audio from Spotify. In terms of wireless performance, the DS220 demonstrated impressive stability. I experienced no dropouts or stuttering, suggesting a robust Bluetooth implementation. My Spotify stream was decoded as a 44.1kHz AAC signal, which, while not Hi-Res, is still capable of excellent fidelity when implemented correctly. The DS220 features built-in EQ presets, which I tested using a pair of Tannoy Studio Monitors known for their neutral response. Candidly, the results were mixed. Some presets, particularly "JAZZ," left much to be desired, introducing noticeable coloration. The "DANCE" and "POP" settings were more palatable, but I'd recommend relying on your primary amplifier or receiver for more sophisticated tone control if available. While the inclusion of EQ functionality is appreciated, its implementation here is somewhat rudimentary. The front panel interface is a highlight, featuring a bright, legible display that provides essential information at a glance: song metadata, bitrate, volume level, and the active EQ preset. The ergonomics are well-considered, with a small toggle switch on the right face controlling volume and track navigation, while a long press of the power button accesses the EQ settings.Build quality is exemplary, with an all-aluminum chassis that speaks to the unit's durability and potential for minimizing electromagnetic interference. One minor oversight is the lack of rubber feet to prevent sliding; audiophiles may want to invest in some adhesive isolation feet to ensure stable placement and potentially improve vibration control. The heart of the DS220 is its DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter), which impressively supports LDAC codec at up to 990kbps. This makes it particularly appealing for users of high-resolution streaming services like Tidal. It's worth noting that as of 2024, Spotify's maximum bitrate remains at 320kbps, which, while high-quality, doesn't fully exploit the DS220's capabilities. For optimal signal integrity, I'd recommend utilizing the optical input over the analog RCA connections. This maintains a digital signal path further into the chain, potentially reducing noise and interference. In conclusion, the 1Mii DS220 Hi-Res Bluetooth Receiver is a compelling option for audiophiles looking to incorporate high-quality wireless streaming into their systems. Its robust build, versatile connectivity, and support for high-resolution codecs make it a standout in its class. While the onboard EQ functionality is somewhat limited, the core performance of this device in terms of signal stability and audio quality is commendable. For those seeking to bridge the gap between convenience and high-fidelity audio, the DS220 comes highly recommended.
Premium quality audio adapter to transmit music to Bluetooth devices, recommended
This audio Bluetooth wireless adapter arrived in a cardboard box wrapped in clear plastic sellophane. Inside the box are numerous items including the actual adapter, power supply adapter, printed instruction manual, and numerous cables such as a USB cable, DC-5V cable, 3.5mm to RCA cable, RCA to RCA cable, and an optical cable. I first noticed the adapter feels premium quality and has a smooth black aluminium case with a large high gain antenna at the back. There is a display on the front with audio and volume information, although the font is a little small unless you get close. The front has a single button on the left, and a dial selector on the right. The back of the audio adapter has a power input, USB Type C input, optical output, and RCA analog output with left and right ports. The output ports are made from solid brass connectors. Having so much different cables included and with different output options means you can easily add Bluetooth to your existing stereo to transmit audio to various computer and mobile devices. The adapter has a maximum range of 30 metres although this can be affected by other wireless signals nearby. I found it still has a stable connection despite other wireless devices. The actual HD sound quality is premium and definitely shows how good quality this audio adapter is. There is also the option of changing the EQ and you can select 7 different EQ modes to suit the music you are listening to. The adapter is small enough to fit on top of your stereo or have it hidden out of sight, but you just need space for the antenna on the back. This is really a super quality audio adapter, easy to use, and premium sound quality to transmit your favourite music and sounds from your stereo to other Bluetooth devices. Definitely recommended.
Makes My Old Stereo New Again!
I am very impressed with a number of different reviews I read about this unit, and the technical details they talked about. That's pretty far away from my expertise! I have a terrific old Yamaha receiver - a Yamaha Natural Sound CR400 - that's got to be about 45 years old. Brushed aluminum and teak. Ah, the good old days!It does have a few extra inputs, like "tape" and "phono" and "aux", but nothing fancy. Certainly no Bluetooth technology! And that's where this DS220 by 1Mii comes in. It has made my old, reliable stereo/receiver, into a much newer unit. The set up was simple, and I think it was the fastest pairing of a piece of equipment I have ever done. No problems at all. In seconds, my phone displayed "DS220" and that was that.I was impressed with the number of different options they offered, in terms of connections to your unit. RCA to RCA, RCA to mini-phono, USB-A to USB-C and even Optical! Very nice!Performance? Excellent! Now remember, I am not exactly an audiophile. I like listening to music, but I can't get into the finer details of sound reproduction. All I can tell you is that the unit works great by playing music on my phone, and then going through my stereo. For one of the few times in my life, I wish an electronic device was a bit larger. I found the single button/joy stick to be a bit difficult to use. It does not light up in any way, so you rely on feel. The operation of the joy stick is simple enough, in terms of up and down, left and right and push in. But some operations require a short push and some a longer one. And of course, if you don't push that little button "straight in", you might find you have triggered a different input like a "left push" instead. But that's really on me.The same could be said of the display. The size of the display works just fine for the size of the DS220, but if the whole unit was a bit larger, I assume the display could be a bit larger too.But the main purpose is to get music off my phone (or whatever device you are using) and deliver it to my stereo via Bluetooth. In that sense, this unit does a great job! Will I ever use the various "sound shaping" logarithms? I have two knobs on my old stereo for "base" and "treble", and I will probably just stay with those.Bottom Line - A remarkable little device that allows you to add wireless audio from a phone, tablet or whatever, to your stereo. For my ears, the sound quality is the same from my records or discs - all excellent. I have not noticed any degradation at all. For me, my stereo just got a major up-grade!
