5.0 out of 5 stars MINISFORUM Venus Series NPB6 Mini PC 13TH Gen Core i7
Just hooked it up a few days ago. It is silent, takes up no room, easy to hook up. The two ethernet ports are great. I transferred files via ethernet from my old computer. SSD love it. I am going to add a second SSD to the back of the top cover and use the supplied screws and SATA connector cable supplied by seller. Well done to who ever designed this small pc. Update: March 2024 The MInisforum pc is still working perfectly. It boots up super fast and it is quiet. Love it
5.0 out of 5 stars Impressive
neat little mini pc. its quiet and quite powerful. Using it as a plex server and it can run windows 2019 server which is sweet!!Taking it apart to add another NVMe was a little bit of a pain but overall pretty simple. it's not a NUC size but small enough, bios is basic old school but this is not something that you'd want to be tweaking and overclocking anyway.. good buy as the last gen intel that uses homogeneous cores, 12th gen and newer use the new P/E core which i am not a fan of (yet)
4.0 out of 5 stars Great if you don't need a GPU
The media could not be loaded. I bought this and tried it out, but ultimately returned it when compared with another Mini PC I was trying, but if I didn't need more of a GPU, this guy was pretty sweet!Pros:- The 4 displays out doesn't hurt anything- Lots o' ports. It actually made my setup look nice and tidy.- Processor thread speed was pretty dang quick.- Upgrading RAM/NVMe was stupidly easy. See my video.- Internal components seemed good. Loved seeing the heat sink on the NVMe drive.Cons:- The power adapter is RATHER LARGE. Just a heads up in case you care about that.- I did have some issues with sound/monitors flickering. It was rare so that was nice. I was using Linux Mint 21.1 on the 5.15 kernel.- The GPU wasn't really that awesome on here. When I ran a vulkan test on Geekbench this was 6888, and on another computer I was looking at that was an AMD 5800H the vulkan score was 19109 (see screenshots)- It was bigger than other Mini PCs......but it's still small overall (see pics).- It's a little weird but it has 8 cores, but only 12 threads.....that threw me for a loop.I needed a little more GPU and that's why I went with the 5800H instead and returned this.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice little PC for a home server
I run Homeseer home automation software, Blue Iris DVR software and a Ubiquiti Unifi network controller on this little box and it all runs great. I added a 2TB SSD drive for to stage the video clips from the DVR before copying off to a network drive. This machine runs 24/7 and I've seen no issues in the first 45 days.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent little PC
I love this little PC. I needed a desktop unit and this is fast and efficient. It set up quickly and supports up to 4 monitors. Plus, the cover pops off if you want to change out ram. I highly recommend this unit. One note: you will need a wired keyboard or mouse to set it up. Then you can switch to Bluetooth once windows is running. I made it work with just a wired mouse.
1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid at all cost! Will not power on after 90 days....DO NOT BUY!!
This is my 2nd "Minis-Forum" small format PC. This one has now almost gotten to 90 days and I had to move it and power it down. That was it, setting back up the power on button does nothing at all!! I can see the Ethernet LEDs flickering as they do on 'sleeping' PC waiting for the network to wake it up, but the blue power button and LED do nothing, can't start the box up that way. I have a NAB9 also and got that replaced on warranty as just past 90 days it did this same thing. I see many reviews that cite this problem for many other users across the Minis-Forum product line. I am bashful to even use the replaced NAB9 for my main desk top now, as it will most likely fail after a few months unless I can somehow keep it powered up forever...Even if your offered a replacement unit, the original date stands as your period, so you will eventually be denied a replacement. Then you can salvage what you have left. The unit will fail, my record and others have the same story on this brand. Look on Ebay for CHUWI brand, I have 3 of them and never had one iota of problems with them. The work, they shut down and restart fine, dozens of times, period!I recommend avoiding this brand all together. I can scrap this one for the M.2 drive and memory board, as these are the only two items that can be removed easily. These cost me around $200 and are the only removable items I can salvage. I might try the warranty route again too, it's just past the Bolo return window now....dang... Go figure....
5.0 out of 5 stars I'm Very Pleasantly Surprised
I spent a few days shopping for a Windows mini PC for some development work. I was surprised to find an i7 w/ 8 cores & 16 threads, 16GB RAM, and a 512GB SDD with Windows 11 Pro for under $500. At that price, I was looking for something to be wrong with it, but it was exactly as advertised. It worked flawlessly right out of the box. I paired it with my bluetooth keyboard and mouse, installed MS Office, Visual Studio Community, and a bunch of other tools with no problem. The only "thing" is that it is made of light plastic, so be sure to put it someplace safe where it won't fall or anything. This mini PC is a very good value.
4.0 out of 5 stars *** impressive power small package
Computers were great!!
Excelente mini PC!
