5.0 out of 5 stars Govee light - Update
Was a great light but stopped working after 15 month of use on a schedule to run 5 hrs a day. I tested the power supply and checked good so the LED strip burned out. I contacted Govee to see if they can support a replacement part. At this price I would not recommend spending $100 for a short lived light.Reached out to Govee. They had me perform several tests which all failed. They are sending me a new unit!Love Govee!
5.0 out of 5 stars Some aspects of the app are a bit odd but the lights are super cool and work well as a group
I bought four of these to use in two rooms. It's a bit weird to configure the app to make them work in a group - unintuitive, perhaps...but otherwise these are crazy simple to set up and I like the fact that the remotes can be paired to more than one unit. That said, the units don't communicate with one another so in cases where the units get out of sync, the units may have different colors (in which case you need to get the app going to get them synced up again).Integration with Bolo Echo/Alexa was also crazy easy, and everything works the way these sorts of things typically do so there really wasn't any messing around with user manuals or instructions or anything like that.Firmware updates are fast and the units are reasonably responsive in group mode - instant when controlling them individually.I'm super happy with these; they look a little odd standing out in the open but i have them tucked behind furniture (and in one case behind a real floor lamp) for a subtle effect.I do wish they would get a bit dimmer. 0%-100% is more like 40%-100% in reality; they should really be able to dim down further for ambient light in the evenings. The dimmability issue and certain app 'weirdness' isn't enough to ding these things a full point because they are super cool with tons of neat modes and colors, etc....so 5 stars it is!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great light, many lighting options.
Great light, love the ability to adjust the scene to your mood or activity.Pros:● Very easy to setup, only takes minutes.● Everything needed including a screwdriver to assemble.👍👍● Extremely well made. • Metal upright, not plastic. When the three pieces are fasten together, looks very good. 👍👍 • Weighted base, to keep it from easily tipping over.● Comes with its own remote, so not 100% dependent on your cell phone.👍👍● Comes with a magnetic clip to hold the remote to the light. I seem to always lose these remotes, problem solved. 👍👍● Different settings for white light, from cool to warm white and everywhere in between.● Colors, every color imaginable.● Gerat selection of predefined color setting and effects.👍👍● Has a DIY section so you can design your own preset colors and lighting effects.● Has the option for the light to react to sound and music.● Works with Alexa, including selecting colors and scenes. 👍👍Cons: This is the only con I have.● Wish there was an option for a taller version. The 55 inches (4 ft, 7 inches) tall, is fine for setting on an end table. I would love to have a pair of these at 84 inches (7 feet) tall for the corners of the room. To actually be a tall floor lamp. To wash the entire corner from floor to ceiling with color and effects.A lot of thought was put into the design and functionality. From its modern look, to its functionality, being able to use it as a reading light or to just lightning up a room (white light), to all the different lighting effects, allowing you to set the light to any mood you like (romantic, watching TV, reading, dancing to your favorite music). When I first got this light, I spent hours just going through and watching all the light effects.I did like it enough to order a second one. I placed them on end tables to make them taller.
4.0 out of 5 stars Get this (Lyra) and skip the Black Govee Corner Floor Lamp
The media could not be loaded. Many of you are wondering about the difference between this lamp, the Lyra, and the cheaper black Govee Corner Floor Lamp (which I'll call the CFL). I got both, so let's talk about them. And the differences are more than the similarities.Similarities1. Both lights seem to share about the same brightness. I know the specs say the Lyra has more lumens, but in person at max brightness, they both look about the same.Differences1. The Lyra looks much nicer with a bit more weight, is silver, and comes with a remote that magnetizes to the unit. Itooks pretty classy actually. The remote let's you turn it off/on, adjust brightness, and switch through basic colors. The CFL is very lightweight and has no physical switches other than an on/off button. The controller on the CFL is inconveniently placed on the floor along the power cord.2. The Lyra seems to offer a few more prebuilt "Scenes" than the CFL. Not that you'll want to use most of them. But if you like scenes...3. About those Scenes, the Lyra seems to operate at a much smoother, slower pace. Which is what you'd want. For some reason, the CFL operates the same patterns at a much faster pace, leaving subtle light color changes (like gradient like shifts, cherry blossom drops, etc) looking jerky and just plain terrible. As in, not usable for ambiance. This seems to be a thing that plagues a number of other Govee lights I have. Not sure if its a fault in manufacturing, a fault in the firmware, but I've seen a number of other folks ask about the light transition speeds too. Annoyingly, Govee still hasn't added the ability to adjust the speed of the scenes on any device I've used, let alone these two corner lamps.4. The LED strip on the Lyra appears to have a denser array if LED modules than the CFL. This means you can see the individual LEDs on the CFL if you look at the light, but not so much on the Lyra.5. On the Lyra, all the Scenes where something is falling, such as a meteor or leaves, has the light emulate from the top then flow to the bottom. On the CFL, most of the scenes are upside down. Example, the Fireworks Scene on the Lyra has the lights starting on the bottom then shoot upwards. On the CFL, the lights start at the top and shoot downward. This is the oddest problem with the CFL, and the reason for 2 stars. Not sure if this is a manufacturer issue (where the LED strip was made backwards, or the firmware needs fixing. It is impossible for the consumer to assemble upside down as only one end has the electrical plug for the lights.6. Plan about 10 minutes to assemble either light. You'll have a bunch of tiny screws, but pretty simple. Instructions are good. That said, you can tell the construction of the Lyra is higher quality than the CFL.Final Review:The Lyra costs about 50% more than the more basic looking Corner Floor Lamp, though for that price you get a far more enjoyable to use lamp with light patterns that work smoothly and correctly.Overall, I recommend to buy this Lyra lamp and not the Govee Corner Floor Lamp.
No funcionó una
Compré 2 una funciona perfectamente la otra no funcionó
Adds colour for a reasonable price
This lamp is great! It doesn’t take up too much space, can be a regular cool or warm white lamp, or you can put some very cool patterns on it.I have it setup in the bedroom where I have it connected to Google assistant. Note that you need to pre-program some of the different listing patterns before you can call them via Google assistant.Out of the box you can ask Google to turn the lamp on and set to a variety of colours including “Barbie pink”.Easy to put together and it adds a lot of dimension.I bought a second one after the first one worked out so well. Watch for Bolo coupons on the listing.
Best smart led floor lamp yet!
Bought two sets and although I have yet to set the other one up we’ve been using the one since last year and we love this floor lamp. Can’t really use some of the special lighting effects as the cats go crazy and wouldn’t want them to destroy it. Coolest and most stylish smart floor led I’ve seen so far and the fact I got the 2 when it was black Friday deals are even better. Yes there’s a dim grey space in the middle but as I also thought it was a deffect and quickly set the 2nd led up discovered it’s just the way of design. Really are you looking for a great room ambience or do you want to stare directly into the (extremely bright) led??? Have a few Govee products now and love the ease of setup and quality of the product.
Ya no funciona el RGB después de 2 meses
The media could not be loaded. La lámpara está muy padre pero la verdad la calidad deja mucho que desear, ya que la función de color ya no funciona tiene algún falso en los cables y solo emite luz blanca y cálida.
