5.0 out of 5 stars The Truth about Mushroom Coffee…
I’m now 8 years into my wellness journey with functional mushrooms and supplements. I’ve now pretty much tried a majority of brands out there. Unfortunately, the truth is that most of them are pretty bad and on the bandwagon for a cash grab. I saw this MaxFit mushroom coffee popping up all over the place on Bolo so I thought I’d put it to the test. Here are my honest thoughts.Serving Size:MaxFit boasts about their 10 mushrooms in a serving. However, their stated dose is 500mg TOTAL mushroom extract per serving. That’s 50mg of each strain, which is barely anything. Rule of thumb is that you want 500mg of EACH strain per serving. Makes sense why each serving is a tiny teaspoon.Mushroom Extract Type & Quality:The most potent mushroom extract out there is made from 100% fruiting bodies (the actual mushrooms). If it’s not stated on the packaging, chances are high that it’s mushroom powder made with fillers or mycelial biomass (look it up), with very low potency. So add this on top of the low 500mg serving you are getting. Conclusion:Is it the cheapest mushroom coffee? Yes. Is there a reason for it? Yes. Is it the worst? I’ll leave that up to you. For example, I drink another brand called Lucid Super Coffee, which gives you 2,000mg of mushrooms per serving with 500mg of each strain. Plus it has another 3,000mg of nootropics, which is like super fuel for your brain. You can find it here: https://a.co/d/0BR7si3From a taste perspective, the MaxFit coffee is good, and even if the dosage is tiny, at least you’re getting something. However, I will be using Lucid as my main source of daily nutrition. This is the perfect example of “you get what you pay for”.
5.0 out of 5 stars Ok, what's important.
Ok, what's important? First if your looking for a coffee replacement because normal coffee is acidic and caffinated and affects your stomach, you are on the right path. I have had gerds until I removed caffeine. I used a decaffeinated coffee and it helped, only issue was acids were still there.Step in a mushroom blend with coffee flavor and minimal caffeine and no acidic bitterness. This brand checked all the right boxes. It breaks down very well once hot water is poured over it. I use 2 tsp in 16 ounces of hot water, add a touch of a flavored creamer by choice and it's great. The coffee flavor for me is just right at that 2 tsp amount. The mushroom flavor is earthy and a little nutty. Does not over power the coffee flavor I'm looking for.I have been using for a week and a few days, the effects of alertness and focus are noticble but not so strong. I like that there is no jittering or a crash later on in the day. Also have had in the afternoon and can still sleep when I'm off to the pillow.I tested this against the more spendy $30 to $50 bags and Maxfit hit the mark. One of the other brands did not break down as well and I swallowed granules upon last sip. One of the products upset my stomach because of more caffeine then I wanted. If your looking for a value based coffee replacement this one fits the bill. My advice try out several and make your own informed choice. The other brands were subscriptions and one I have to wait 10 days to cancel. My email box is filled with spam and pressure ads to purchase. That turned me away from them instantly. Buying on Bolo with this brand you get to make your own decision. Hope this helps anyone looking for a coffee replacement with a little boost.I was not paid to write this, just wanted to post a informed and honest review.
4.0 out of 5 stars I’m a Mushroom Coffee Lover! Here are my honest thoughts…
I've been drinking mushroom coffee for the last several years now and have tried about 95% of the products out there, majority being terrible products jumping on the bandwagon. There are 4 main things I look for when shopping for mushroom coffee.1) Taste2) Dosage3) Quality4) ValueI saw this Max Fit mushroom coffee and chose to give it a try. As someone who is quite passionate about both my health and functional mushrooms, here are my thoughts…TASTE:The flavor is pretty good. The coffee has a bold and smooth flavor.DOSAGE: The per serving dosage is quite low @ 500mg. It states it has 10 different mushrooms. When you do the math, that's 50mg per mushroom. Given what I’ve learned over the years, you want at least 500mg of one mushroom strain to achieve any benefit that strain has to offer. Maybe they wanted to label as many mushrooms strains as possible for marketing. The low dosage could explain why the serving size is just a teaspoon, where other main brands are a tablespoon, and why the bag is so cheap.QUALITY:Rule #1: Make sure the mushroom extract is organic. Rule #2: Always look for mushroom extract made from 100% fruiting bodies. This is the purest form of the extract. It’s usually clearly stated on the products label. Otherwise, it could contain mycelial biomass, fillers, grain, oats and not even mushroom bodies at all! This product does not state either. Which, once more, explains why the product is priced so low.VALUE:Someone else in another review mentioned that the low cost is the reason why this product is the top choice. That couldn’t be further from the truth. It's easy to put cheap ingredients into a product and literally be the "cheapest". This topic of value circles back to the above: Dosage + Quality. I’m investing in my health, and I’m going to ensure I am putting the highest quality ingredients in my body. Otherwise, what’s the point?Max Fit is decent for what it has to offer at it's low price. Should you get it? Sure if you're on a budget and want something on the lower end. There are larger name brands like Ryze, Lucid Super Coffee and Everyday Dose. I've tried out of all of them through the past few years, I mainly use Lucid for my daily routine. It delivers a heavy 2000mg dose of mushrooms per serving (dosage), use organic mushroom extract from 100% fruiting bodies (quality), and it tastes great. I will continue my efforts in spreading education and awareness on mushroom coffees as they come out. Just remember the above key points, and always read the label!
