5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Chair for Cross-Legged Sitting!
This chair was purchased for my wife, and her review is as follows:I sit cross-legged whenever possible, and normal office chairs can pose all sorts of problems. The arms get in the way, the seat is too curved, the seat is too shallow, and because of all that the tilt mechanism usually had to remain locked so I could overcome the rest of the issues.Well my previous chair finally broke and I decided to try this one, dedicated to those of us who sit cross-legged. It arrived last week but I'm finally sitting in it today. What a difference! The very slight curve of the seat is much gentler on my knees, since I am in a more relaxed cross-legged position now. There are no arms to get in my way. the depth of the seat allows me to adjust without feet or knees falling off the edge. I can use the tilt feature! For the chair itself: It wasn't difficult to put together and the instructions were really straight forward. I do have a wood-creak from the seat when I sit at certain angles. I think this is likely a result of over or under tightening a screw or two and I suspect it's something I can fix. The back rises up to just below my shoulder blades, so this is perfect for me, but might be too short for someone taller. For reference I'm about 5'5" tall. The wheel base is nice and wide so when you tilt back you're fairly supported. I do think I could probably cause it to fall, but I would have to try. It's not going to tip from normal usage. The wheels roll very easily on my carpeted office floor, as well. The padding is very Goldilocks between soft and firm, but since this is day one I'm not sure yet how it will hold up. It feels like it's pretty durable though. The cover material is soft but also feels like it's going to be durable enough to last through some years. I got the "Brown" colour, which is pretty true to colour on my screens. It's a rusty/orangey brown but a little muted so it's not garish.Overall I would absolutely recommend this chair to anyone who sits cross-legged and I would absolutely buy it again if I needed to.
5.0 out of 5 stars Comfy and great quality!
Very happy with this purchase. I like how wide the chair is and how comfortable it is. Very easy to assemble and the color (grey) is very pretty!
4.0 out of 5 stars Let's me sit how I need to sit
The Orange Factory Criss Cross desk chair with wheels arrived today and I'm pretty happy about it!The components were packaged well. The instructions are minimal, but assembly was straightforward. The labels on the bolts/screws did not match the diagram in the instructions, but we figured it out. (Use the longer bolts to attach the seat to the back.) You can assemble most of the chair solo, but I recommend two people to get the back and seat to line up for the last four bolts. It took my husband and I 20-30 minutes to assemble the chair, but having done one, assembling a second would only take 10.I can easily sit cross-legged in the chair, sit with my knees under my chin, my legs to one side, one leg up and one down, or with both legs under me. I'm 5' 1". I hope the ability to change positions will keep sciatica and back pain away. I've owned extremely expensive office chairs, cheap ones, stationary chairs, stools, balls, etc. This is the first chair that has allowed me to sit the way I would naturally choose to sit.The padding of this criss cross chair is firm. I do wish it was thicker. It is by no means plush. I think the longevity of this chair and my pain, or lack of it, will be determined by how the cushion holds up over time. If it breaks down and flattens too soon, all may be lost. Fingers crossed. The chair feels surprisingly stable: no wobbles or shimmies, no popping or squeaking. It adjusts, spins, and rolls smoothly and quietly.Overall, the chair seems to offer a lot of value for the price and, at this moment, I'm glad I made the purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect chair!!!
I'm a larger girl (215 lbs, 5'5) and I can sit comfortably with my legs crossed in this chair!!! So soft, so comfortable, and doesn't lose its shape after a few hours. (Mostly) easy to assemble, but some of the screws did not line up with the pieces, but it seems to hold its integrity while missing two screws 🤷♀️ Be advised though, this chair is MASSIVE!!! It will take up a lot of space. But it's worth it for me! The height is adjustable, pump works well. Very sturdy, has a rocking capability as well.
5.0 out of 5 stars Cute and cozy office chair
So happy with this chair! It was pretty simple to assemble and is so comfortable. I love that I can sit cross legged in it, and there's plenty of room to put a pillow on the seat if you need more back support!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great home office chair!
I am writing this after owning/sitting in this chair for a week. After reading a bunch of reviews, I decided to buy this chair for my home office. I have a small desk space, but this chair fits nicely and only takes up a little space in the room when it's pushed in. The swivel is smooth and quiet, and the height adjustment and back tilt are also nice features. There is plenty of room to pull your feet up in the chair if you want which is nice. Some reviews say that the cushions aren't very thick or are too firm, but I think it's quite normal for an upholstered foam chair. They are firm, but in a way that feels sturdy, not uncomfortable. The foam in the cushions may squish down a bit over time but for the money, I think this chair is worth it. Overall I am glad that I got this chair and would recommend it for daily home office use.
3.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable for short periods of time
I needed a wider chair because I put my drawing tablet in my lap a lot, and put my feet up. Not wide enough for me (5'8) to cross my legs in it. After about 3 hours, the lack of lumbar support kills my lower back, so expect to need a cushion. It's sturdy, VERY easy to put together, I like that it doesn't roll because when I put my feet up, I used to push myself back in my old one lol. I wish it had some comfy arms on it.It's a very good-looking chair, and the fabric isn't a magnet for cat hair, but IS a magnet for cat claws, unfortunately (kind a rough, chunky knit like their cat tree, but NOT scratchy!)I haven't noticed any squeekiness, yet, but it's pretty new and I usually have my headphones in.
