Perfect for kombucha brewing as they are 1.3 gallon. Therefore, you can add 1 gallon of sweet tea and you still have plenty of room to add your SCOBY and a cup or two of starter liquid, yielding a greater amount of finished kombucha than a 1 gallon jar would.

I have used this set for a few things over the past few months: kombucha, sun tea, cold brew, banana peel water (for my plants). They are up to each task and do a great job. These are big and heavy, which I appreciate. The handle seems very sturdy, but I always support the bottom, just in case. They clean up really well after use - I'm excited to have these as part of my arsenal for years to come. The only difficulty I have encountered is when pouring -- tends to make a little bit of a mess, but this would be easily avoided if I just used a ladle.

I ordered rather in haste and didn’t realize the listing was for 2 jars! So I’m happily surprised! This is definitely good value for the price. The jars are a nice thick glass. The only downside is that I don’t believe this type of lid can be vacuum sealed, so if you are putting up something long term I don’t believe it’ll work for that. And the handle seems a bit flimsy to me. I haven’t filled the jars with liquid yet to test the strength of the handles, but personally I think I’ll hold the jars around the middle when full rather than by the handle. I’m probably not going to be toting them anywhere though, mostly just for home use. Overall I’m happy and can’t wait to put them to use.

These jars are great quality and sturdy. Love the different lid options, especially the one with handles. If this were filled with a liquid I'm not sure I'd hold it only by the handle, but it's a great feature nonetheless.

great quality pictures for all of your fermentation, tea, etc needs. The lids are great and I like that they have handles for easy carry. The large size allows for plenty of room for whatever you want to use them for. Everything seems well made and will come in handy for various things around the farm.

These jars are big with nice thick glass. I'm using one for iced tea. I've been carrying a jar full of tea using the handle and have had no issues or concerns about the handle being able to support the weight. It doesn't have any kind of spout for pouring. I have no problem pouring the tea into a glass, but my daughter struggles with it. The wide mouth lets me easily reach into the jar to wash it between tea brewing.I use the second jar to store protein powder. It is tight, but I can fit the entire contents of a 5-pound bag of protein powder into one jar.
