5.0 out of 5 stars This is a must for young people you love !
I am the proud Auntie of 3 beautiful nieces . No kids of my own . I sent them all a copy , but not before reading my own copy . This book is something I wish I would have had as a teen . It is so informative in so many facets of young life . As I read this , I thought , they need to teach these things in high school ! I wish this would have been available to me at a young age. It’s great for all young people but esp important to read about good habits in money , insurance and just life skills . This a book I hope my nieces carry with them into adult hood ,and the pages get bent and highlighted . Highly recommend!!!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Useful advice from a mother, which should not only be taken by her own children
I liked the book, on the one hand, because I also like to read and write books about young people, as well as because I liked the author's style and personal tone, and you could feel the intention to help between the lines. In her book, the author shares very important knowledge that every teenager or young adult must learn if they want to live an orderly, predictable, livable life. In short, if they want to live a good life and if they imagine their future in the same way.The author condensed into 12 main chapters the valuable thoughts that she wanted to pass on to the younger generations, first to her own children, and later to all teenagers and young adults. She covers, for example, the importance of physical and mental health, human relationships, proper time management, financial matters, and even some knowledge of domestic and technology are included in her writing.I am no longer a teenager or a young adult, but I still found useful advice in it, which I will try to take and follow in the future.I recommend it to teenagers and young adults who want to gain useful information that will support them, help them make better decisions and pave the way to adulthood.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Reference Manual
This is a great reference book for teens and young adults to help them learn about the aspects of life many people assume parents and schools teach young adults but isn’t necessarily taught. It would also be a great reference for teachers designing a life skills course for high school students.
5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly helpful and easy to read
I gave this book to my daughter, hoping to help her get ready for an upcoming gap year experience. Honestly, I did not expect her to give it more than a quick scroll, but she ended up reading it back-to-back in a few nights, and discussing it with me. It is packed with practical information on a wide range of topics, and written in a very approachable style, matter-of-fact and never condescending. The author has done a very good job at giving an overview of the really big issues (mental health, relationships, etc.), without overstepping into advice that is best left to experienced professionals. On more mundane topics, such as cooking, housekeeping and money management, the book is a trove of detailed information and I am sure it will be very handy as a go-to cheat sheet or checklist. Really surprising and refreshing!
5.0 out of 5 stars A helpful book for teens and ya
This book can serve as a helpful guide to starting out in the world. It covers a wide range of topics and yet does it directly and succinctly.
5.0 out of 5 stars This is as good a manual as you can expect for launching yourself into the real world!
Parents worry about good grades and college applications! But parents often do not have the time or forget to teach their child the practical life skills that are necessary foundations for a good life, a good college experience, and good relationships. This book is a great manual for both the parent and the grown child leaving home. It covers most of the important life sustaining knowledge your grown child needs on their pioneering journey to an independent life.Knowing how to maintain your body, mind, and car are vital! Knowing how to manage money, how to find the right help, and avoid bad relationships are necessary. This manual covers all of that and much more in a simple easy to read format. You can read it cover to cover or jump around. It makes sense and is very helpful. I recommend every parent should read this and every student should find a copy in their luggage when they settle into the dorm…
5.0 out of 5 stars This is THE ONE!
This is THE ONE! I’ve been looking for a book like this for my kids for a while now. I’ve bought several books with the same or similar title, but this one, by far, is the clear winner. It covers an amazingly wide range of topics in just the right amount of detail to inform as well as foster further curiosity. The author does not shy away from difficult subjects, and discusses them in a way that is direct, as-a-matter-of-fact fashion that is easy to digest but not at all condescending. The book is very well organized and effectively illustrated with graphic examples. I think it is going to be a very good conversation starter for the family. When I gave it to my 16-year-old son, at first, he was grumbling about not needing a book because he could find everything online. But then, something must have caught his eye because a few minutes later, I caught him totally engrossed in the money management section of the book. Lol. This book would also make a great gift for teenagers. I am going to order a few more copies for my nieces and nephews as stocking stuffers this year.
4.0 out of 5 stars This book is a helpful tool for young adults, and for parents.

"Life Skills Simplified"
Finally, a guide that demystifies the maze of adulthood! This book is a lifesaver for anyone feeling overwhelmed by the sudden leap into independence. It breaks down everything from managing finances to mastering the basics of cooking and cleaning in a way that's digestible and actually doable. The tips are practical, the advice is sage, and the illustrations make it even more accessible. I found the sections on time management and decision-making especially enlightening. It's the perfect companion for young adults looking to build confidence in their day-to-day life skills. A must-have on your shelf for when Google just doesn't cut it.
An Epic Book For Epic Teens
As an uncle to a terrific teen, I couldn't resist the urge to dive into "Essential Life Skills for Teens & Young Adults" And boy, am I glad I did! This book is the Swiss Army knife of adulting – it's jam-packed with everything my niece needs to conquer the real world, and it's written in such a fun, approachable way that even I picked up a trick or two!First off, the section on self-care strategies is a game-changer. It's not just about eating your greens and getting enough sleep; it dives into the nitty-gritty of maintaining both physical and mental health. It's like a crash course in Health 101, minus the boring lectures. Then there's the bit about time management. Let's face it, balancing school, hobbies, and a social life is no easy feat. But this book breaks it down beautifully, offering practical tools and techniques that are simple yet effective. It's like having a personal life coach at your fingertips!Financial literacy? Check. From saving pennies to making smart spending choices, it guides young adults through the maze of money management. And the best part? It's all laid out in a way that doesn't make your eyes glaze over. It's finance made fun (who knew that was possible?).Housekeeping and kitchen basics are covered too. My niece used to think the laundry machine was rocket science, but not anymore! This book demystifies everything from sorting whites to whipping up a decent meal. It's like Home Ec for the modern age.But here’s the real kicker: the book is designed to be a lifelong companion. You don’t just read it once and forget about it. It’s there for you, growing with you, ready to offer advice and answers whenever you need them. Think of it as a mentor in paperback form.In a nutshell, this is more than just a book; it's a toolkit for life. It’s the guide I wish I had when I was a teen, and I’m thrilled my niece has it now. Whether you're a teen, a young adult, or just someone looking to brush up on life skills, this book is a must-have. Trust me, your future self will thank you for it!
