5.0 out of 5 stars Best keyboard design, Config stored in keyboard, Ice Cyan switches for super clicky-thock sound.
The folks designing keyboards finally got it right - and this design has been copied many times by other vendorsThis is the best keyboard I have owned - including expensive Razer products. I bought two of these keyboards with different tactile switches.First, this keyboard is vey heavy. When it was delivered I though it was the wrong product. This keyboard will not be sliding around on your desk.Second, unlike Razer and other keyboards that support macros, key reassignment, RGB color schemes, etc. you don't need software running in the background to support all this stuff. All the config is stored in the keyboard itself through software provided by the vendor.Third, sound. I always get tactile keys. At present, there are two options for tactile mechanical key switches.Ice Cyan Switch - This is my preference. It has a very noticeable "click" followed by a "thock" when the key bottoms out.Juggle V2 Switch - This tactile switch has no click at all - just a "thock" when the key bottoms out.I do a lot of typing and am not a gamer. For some reason I can type faster with the Ice Cyan switch than the Juggle V2 switch. Both switches sound great. But, if you like "clicky" then you need to get the Ice Cyan switch.I checked online and could not find any Ice Cyan switches sold independently. If so, I would buy Ice Cyan switches for my other keyboards.Bottom line, best keyboard I owned so far. Great that the keyboard has all the Macro, keymapping, and RGB stored in the keyboard and no background software needs to run. Ice Cyan switch is the best for super "clicky-thock" sound.
5.0 out of 5 stars Click clack
Very heavy keyboard. I could probably take down an intruder with this keyboard. Feels very solid. I didn't like the loud clicky clack switches. So I swapped them out with more thocky deeper switches. And boy oh boy does this thing thock, I love it. It's my primary keyboard now taking the place of a keychron v5 max. Due to the heft and shock. The only downside of the board is if you have to rebuild it many times you'll need to replace screws as they are cheap and prone to stripping (ohh la la). No adjustable feet on this board either. The layers of foam and plastic are perfect, hopefully it lasts a long time, because I really like this keyboard.
4.0 out of 5 stars More good than bad.
I purchased the complete kit which turned out to be a mistake. The build quality of the keyboard itself seems solid, but the stabilizer for the space bar was dreadful. The stabs are clip-on and they were pre-lubed very poorly. I replaced the space bar switch with a Kutethy Gateron Oil King Linear switch and replaced the stab with a Duron that I lubed before installing, and it sounds much better now. The space bar comes with a bit of foam inside the bar, and that is a nice touch. Neither the keyboard nor the driver software includes meaningful instructions which I find unfathomable. I'll replace all the switches and stabs when I have the time. The delete key seems wrongly placed to me (no extra keycaps are provided), and I could not quite match the color and profile to make a change. I'll probably replace all the caps now that I finally figured out the driver software (remapping keys to the default profile does not work even though it appears to). The leds are VERY bright but can be reduced in intensity. Removing the wheel seems to require a pry bar. Buy it for the weight and for the overall build, or buy any one of the several competing boards for about the same price that also are aluminum and also include considerable sound dampening material inside (I have not yet opened it up). It really is remarkable what US$100 will buy in a keyboard today.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing $100 board!
This board has started my descent down the keyboard rabbit hole. This board is absolutely beautiful. I knew I wanted the blue base as soon as I saw it. I ended up building my own since the variation with the blue base was out of stock everywhere, but if the base color you want is in stock you should just buy it pre-assembled to save an extra ~$35.I initially tried the Leobog Greywood V3 Linear switches, which can come with this prebuilt, and they were leagues better than the MX Browns on the gaming keyboard I was using before. It was truely an eye-opening experience. They were so much smoother than any linear switch I had briefly tried in the past (Just some MX Reds on my brothers keyboard and some ancient Gateron blacks on a macro pad I got around a decade ago). They feel really nice considering how affordable they are.The overall build quality is excellent! Much heavier than I was expecting! The only flaw on the finish of my unit is a small chip of paint under the astronaut magnetic badge. As I have no plans on removing the badge this didn't bug me personally. The only downside of the build quality is the screws. I almost stripped mine by using a bit that was ever so slightly the wrong size. If you don't have a precision screwdriver kit with the exact size bit don't bother disassembling it, you will just ruin the screws. The coiled cable is cool and all, but it doesn't look like it will hold its shape over time (Especially if you move your board around a lot). I found the coil too malleable and the rest of the cable too firm and hard to straighten out. Due to this, I would have preferred a simple and more flexible straight cable similar to one that comes with gaming mice. However, I can't complain about its inclusion as it is a feature many newcomers to the hobby like. It is more unique compared to other similarly priced boards.I currently have mine stock internally. I swapped out the Greywood V3's with JWICK JWK Taro Puree tactile switches and treated myself to the Akko Toyko World Tour R2 PBT keycaps and it sounds amazing! It's a very rich and thoccy sound signature. I chose these switches as they had the deepest sound profile out of the 9 switches I tested out during my decent down the rabbit hole. It's a heavier 67gf tactile with a large rounded bump if you are interested in checking them out. I also tried the Akko Creamy Blue Pros which also sounded great in this board, though not quite as creamy as the Taro Puree's. You can also buy a replacement button for the knob which saves this board aesthetically in my opinion. Its currently $2 plus shipping totaling around $7.Overall, this is an amazing board whose only cons are no open-source software support, no wireless functionality, and the ugly red button on the dial. I consider all these issues minor inconveniences. The final product and price easily outweighs the cons.
Good user manual needed!
I had problems to initiate the keyboard with my mac. There is in tiny leaflet with some cryptic information, nearly impossible to read …At least this vital user information should be readable and I would advise to work together with a native english co-autor for a nice and clear user manual. That will bring this real good (!) keyboard to the full attention of all PC and Mac users that it really deserves!
Rapporto qualita'/prezzo mostruoso
The media could not be loaded.
