5.0 out of 5 stars Drinking less coffee
I started taking these supplements in April. I have went from drinking 2-3 cups of coffee a day to 1/2-1 cup (mostly just because I enjoy coffee in the morning). I have noticed more energy in the late afternoon!
4.0 out of 5 stars expensive and lower dosages than used in studies; this is really a 30 day supply at best
This supplement is probably OK on quality, but there really is no way to know. My main grief with it is that it is very expensive, and the dosages provided are not what has been used in studies, so you would need to take 4 of these to get the minimal dosages used in studies for the 3 most supported ingredients, CoQ10, citicoline, and pyrroloquinoline quinone.Probably the most studied ingredient in this supplement is CoQ10. Benefits from CoQ10 may not show up until the long term (one study followed up at 2 years to see results!), and study dosages ranged from 100mg daily to 600mg daily; 2 capsules of this supplement provide 50mg daily. Depending on it's used for, higher doses of CoQ10 (300mg daily) could make some conditions worse, but more research is needed. The research is pretty weak on showing it helps with fatigue. CoQ10 generally needs to be taken with fat for better absorption, and this supplement suggests taking with a large glass of water.Citicoline - 150mg per 2 capsules, 21.4% of which gets to our body as choline. Doses of Citicoline are 250-2000mg in studies, so 2 capsules won't hit the minimum used, but 4 capsules will. This has pyrroloquinoline quinone, 10mg per 2 capsules, and most studies have use 20mg or slightly more. You'd need to take 4 capsules of this to get that.L-Carnitine 300mg; 500-1000mg used in studies. The acetyl-L-carnitine form is used in more studies.D-Ribose 500mg; 4-10 grams used in the studies I looked up. Yes, grams, not mg, so that's 4,000-10,000mg. Studies are pretty weak for this, but it might help people with some health issues or who are out of shape.About the company: What I really look for in a supplement company is information about quality control. How do they guarantee that a supplement contains what it says? Do they have a good track record of providing the stated quality and quantity (based on independent testing by leading consumer groups/labs)? The company's website currently has zero info on quality. Instead, they advertise medicines your doctor won't tell you about, overlooking the fact that most (6/7) of their scientific advisory board has MDs, so I find that a little annoying. My MD actually will discuss supplements, although I know it's not widespread across the country yet. The other member has a PhD and is there to advise you that medicine has abandoned the Hippocratic oath, which I understand the general dissatisfaction, but science moves slower than we want, and the medical profession responds even slower than science, generally opposed to making patients guinea pigs until the data is overwhelming. It's frustrating, but if it went the other way, no one would be happy either. They also say they won't profit from our illnesses, but I am certain the current price of this supplement allows them a tidy profit. Most supplement companies lack transparency, so I didn't ding these too hard on that because this company is following typical practices of a wild west industry. They seem like true believers, so I am inclined to trust they are legitimately providing a quality supplement, but I wish they would focus on that on their website.
5.0 out of 5 stars Clean energy
I like this product because it gives me a steady energy, not a rush followed by crash like other supplements have done for me. Clean ingredients.
5.0 out of 5 stars It Works!
Coffee is too much of an amp and energy drinks are too expensive, I was looking for an alternative. Very smooth and mellow, it keeps energy levels even without sagging dropoffs and jitters. Product is just right! I recommend it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality
I love ordering from The Wellness Company, I know everything is high quality and works to my expectations!
4.0 out of 5 stars Slight Energy Boost
Two capsules taken as directed and I feel a nice boost of energy but it doesn't last long for me.. I have taken other supplements that elevate my energy longer and although there is no crash with this product it's a great supplement to get me moving but I find after a hour or two I am feeling a little tired again. 3.5 stars for me, wouldn't purchase this product in the future other supplements do more for less $$ .
5.0 out of 5 stars Quality Supplement
I did notice more focus after taking the supplement for a while. It is nice to find good vegan supplements. Hard to know the exact impact - I think this has helped with my energy and productivity.
2.0 out of 5 stars Maybe it’s me?
I’m going to quote the supplement marketing materials: “Elevated Energy is the revolutionary mitochondrial supplement designed to supercharge your cellular energy production and unlock your true mental and physical potential”.That’s the main premise of the supplement. In at week 7 of taking the supplement regularly and I have yet to see any difference in any given day. I tried mornings, then I tried afternoons, back to mornings but there really have been no difference at all in how I feel. I’m still as normally tired with it as I was without it. I was really hoping for a natural boost. The supplement itself seems well researched and contains good ingredients. I have not had any side effects or anything of note. The pills are easy to swallow and have no weird taste or after taste.Given that there have been no improvements in sleep quality, performance, energy or anything eke I cannot give it more than 2 stars.
