5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bose Wave Radio CD replacement: don't lose that remote!
This Aiwa (not the same Aiwa we know, but a new brand) is a fairly well made unit. The most important feature is the sound. Very good full sound comparable to the Bose Wave Radio/Music System (now discontinued) at a third the price, and it has both Bluetooth AND Optical digital inputs.The FM tuner actually tunes in Stereo, and lets you store 20 presets. The CD player is front loading, has a tray, but is very basic. No time remaining info, just a track display. You can program it to play desired tracks, repeat, etc. FM tuner sensitivity is adequate, has a wire antenna, but I never had to extend it to get solid reception on all the Atlanta radio stations.Bluetooth A2DP sounds great and pairing is painless. Sounds great playing my iPad, phone etc. You can switch tracks from the remote. Whatever you do, do not lose or damage the remote: just like the Bose radios, no remote=no playing of anything. That being said, the remote is very easy to navigate and you can dim the blue LCD backlight display.Overall it's priced right, has plenty of power (15 watts RMS per channel). Like the Bose radios, there are no tone controls or equalizers to adjust. You turn it on and it plays. One thing that is nice is it has a hard power off switch on the rear, interesting design. It does use a super capacitor as power loss of a couple minutes did not result in the clock being wrong or the radio presets being erased. That being said, unlike the Bose units, there is no alarm clock or sleep timer.

I purchased a unit that was returned. It was discounted. You could hardly tell it was used. Nice, compact package, good quality sound, the remote makes operation effortless. I am pleased with my purchase.

Love this brand for their high quality equipment at very reasonable prices. This is such a great speaker and love that it plays CDs as got as a gift for my in-laws who still have an extensive music collection but were looking for a much smaller and portable music solution. Great to use both indoors and outside on their patio and as it also plays via bluetooth use can also stream music from it as well. Good audo quality without any disruption at louder volumes and is a sleek looking set up that's easy to operate ad set up.

I got this system to pair with a television setup in my Rec room. He won't be used as a main television, but is more reserved for Gatherings and movie Nights. I wanted a system that would produce richer, full sound for movies and also to next to my projector when wanting to show films outside. I got this as it has a simple to use Bluetooth connection as well as ox lying in compatibility. The remote control allows me to switch between functions and mode seamlessly, and adjust settings on the Fly. That being said, I'm surprised that there are virtually no buttons on the main unit to control the system, even simple directional keypads and enter and menu button on one side but not take away from the overall beauty of the design, but the price was right and the features really caught my eye so I'll give it a pass this time. The speakers really do distribute the base from the audio well, really getting that booming effect from loud noises and sudden jumpscare moments in movies. Overall, the unit is slim, compact and easy to use for anyone. The LED display is bright and is able to display information without being too distracting while watching my shows. Again, would love for the unit to be updated to have a simple set of buttons, even on the bottom of the unit if the manufacturer is worried about Aesthetics being thrown off as remote controls sometimes have minds of Their Own and the unit is basically unusable without it.
