It was soft at first but give it more than 2 days and it gets a little firmer. In this case, your bottom will not sink all the way in, but still elevated. It's perfect for long travels. No more pain when sitting for a long time. No more burns when leather seats are hot in summer weather; and no more frozen seats on winter days. It's worth the money.

I’ve had multiple seat cushions in the past and this one is amazing. The material is dense and absorbs weight easily. I can’t feel the hard surface of my chair while I’m using it. The material on the outside of it is super soft. It comes compressed in the packaging. You have to carefully cut it out and let it inflate like a lot of other memory foam now a days. Inflates quickly to take its full shape.

Bought this for my husband who drives a semi every day. He often complains of back pain due to his uncomfortable seat. This cushion has really made a difference. It is soft but still very supportive. He seems to be doing much better. I'm very happy with this purchase!
