4.0 out of 5 stars Cute flower press
I’ve never owned a flower press so I don’t have much to compare this to. Growing up we just put our flowers in a heavy book and waited a week or two. My daughter has recently gotten really interested in pressing flowers, leaves and whatever else she can find. (She’s 9) She has used the book method and it works fine, but when I saw this on vine I thought why not give this a shot. She’s only done one “project” so far but the process was enjoyable for her. I only received 6 pieces of cardboard and 12 pieces of paper instead of the advertised 8 and 16 so that’s disappointing. But I imagine we can use any kind of paper and cardboard once this is gone. The instructions are clear and it even has illustrations to show you how to press your flowers. It’s kind of like making a double decker sandwich. The 4 wooden nuts screw on/off smoothly which is nice. The wood that this is constructed from seems to be decent quality I guess. I can actually see 4 layers of pressed wood.I don’t think this will last forever, but if you are new to flower pressing, this is probably a fine starter. I personally think it’s a little overpriced for what it is, but it seems these vary greatly in price points after doing a quick search.
5.0 out of 5 stars Darling and unique gift for little artists or flower lovers
We gave this to our six year old daughter who loves flowers for Easter. It is a really nice, high quality flower press. The four knobs are kind of hard for her to screw off and on but we helped her and her flowers turned out lovely! You just follow the directions and keep it closed for one week and when we opened it, the flowers looked really cool Worked better than we expected. It comes with a wooden back, wooden front, the screws on all four corners, cardboard pieces and thick paper pieces. Directions are easy to follow. The flowers do not stick to the paper, so if yours wants to keep the flowers on the paper (just as a little scrapbook of different flowers) and not make crafts out of them, just spray or paint some adhesive glue over them to make them stay. So so cute and a great gift for kids anywhere from 6 to young teen years.
3.0 out of 5 stars Mine didn’t come with instructions.
Never used one of these before and was looking really hard to find some instructions that were apparently not included in mine. I’m not sure how you’re supposed to be able use this since after a couple uses if you have already used some of the cardboard pieces then the stack isn’t thick enough to press the flowers because the balls only screw down the pegs so far. And almost not far enough. So if it’s missing any of the paper or cardboard pieces the stack won’t be thick enough to tightly press the flowers. Also ran into the issue of the balls only fitting on certain pegs so we had to fight them to get them on. It did work the two times we tried it out though. So I guess it’s ok. Would’ve been nice to have instructions though so I could figure out if we were doing it right.
5.0 out of 5 stars Quality kit with clear instructions
This kit is easy to use with clear instructions on what flowers to use or not to use. It is quality made. The knobs tighten smoothly and you can do multiple layers of flowers at one time. We've never pressed flowers before so I was surprised that you had to wait a week, but it makes perfect sense... If nothing else, that teaches patience. I feel like the $29 price tag maybe a little high, especially since you can press flowers in any heavy book, but still a solid buy.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best pressure preserver
When I orders this flower press I expected to need a step by step guide for my first one or two tries but it turns out that this is sturdily build and has all of the resources need to complete flower pressing effectively!!
4.0 out of 5 stars Everything is included except the paper
My 4 yo granddaughter is moving to England soon, and I got this kit to press and send her flowers from my garden. We tried it out with a cut flower from the grocery store (winter hasn't left New England yet) and are awaiting the results. One note - the ball-shaped knobs that tighten down on the wooden screws don't seem to be universal. By that, I mean if a knob is on a particular screw, don't try to use it on another screw. My son needed to tighten the knobs down for me, and that knocked off one star. All knobs should fit on all screws.
5.0 out of 5 stars So cute!
This is a great flower press and the knobs for tightening it are nicely sized for small hands. We can’t wait for spring to get started pressing some flowers! It includes everything you need except for the fresh flowers.
