I have always been a denim skirt girl, and have been sad that the last 10 years or so have been missing this closet staple. Now that longer denim is back in vogue, I've been on a search for a great fitting midi to accommodate the current mom bod I am rocking. I hate front slits, especially wide v-slits, as they provide no modesty when one sits, and that does not work for me in my classroom. So ideally, I was looking for a back vent that could be tacked down if necessary. I do think the slit on this skirt is slightly too high and I will close it two or three inches, but that was a personal preference and I'm not taking off any stars for it. Other great features of the skirt are the extra stretchy denim, which helps it not pinch into my problem belly area; the great mid calf length and high waist; the attractive A-line cut; and the great light denim color (I am definitely tempted to order this in other colors). My rear actually looks fabulous in this skirt, which is highly unusual for me, and I will be able to mitigate my tummy issue with proper undergarments (and, even without, my tummy does not look as poochy as it can, as the fabric seems to help hold it in a bit).As you can tell, I tried this on directly out of the bag, so a good ironing will help get the shipping wrinkles out. I will definitely be sporting this with knee-high boots and a sweater as soon as the weather cooperates, but it will also be great with a summer blouse and sandals, as it is not extremely heavy in fabric weight. This is a definite keeper and I am very happy with it!

this skirt is quite comfortable. the length is just right below the knees,the material does not hug the body tightly giving a sausage look,I purchased a medium,I am 5'6" at 125-130lbs.I did notice the buttons were somewhat weakly put on so I will have to stitch to make them more secure.the color I purchased is black and it is true black did not wash out,fabric does not wrinkle when you line dry,did not shrink.package did not smell when first received and opened.the waist has give to it and is not tight, the pockets in front do not bunch up when you wear the skirt,the cut of the skirt is gentle "aline" not harsh not hugs your body but not tightly "not making a sauage look".😊may this information assist you. calmness keep you.sept72024-now that I have worn the skirt several times and washed this skirt is quite nice fit is so very comfortable I allows easy movement and guess what I want to purchase another I enjoy wearing so much😂

This skirt fits just fine and although I have a slight belly from age it still looks good. It hangs nicely and washes fine. The belt wasn’t important to me but the reviewer who put it outside in the sun was right- works just fine.It’s a good basic wardrobe staple and good length. Covers the knees when sitting. Really like it, bought two.

Pros: super cute, nice weight to the denim, well-constructed. Very flattering, and you can turn it around for the split in front and pockets in back if you want.Con: This is the only item from Belle Poque I've ordered which has arrived reeking of mold/mildew. The smell came out in the wash, and I put the belt outside in the sun for a few hours and it seemed to fix it. I've ordered many items from them, and this is the only one with this issue, but it was bad!

The is a very nice skirt the fit is perfectThe color is what was expectedThe fabric has just enough stretch to make it fit greatThe belt is a little cheep but cute with the skirt and still keeps the skirt at 5 starsI loved this skirt so much I ordered a black skirt tooFor size reference I am 5’6” and weigh 188 I purchased a 2xl I don’t like anything too tight and this skirt has plenty of room the stretch makes it comfortable for sittingthe length is perfect for tall boots it’s just a little under the kneeI plan to buy one of the denim colors as well.

The denim material is odd. To some extent I expect denim to have some body and support to it. This denim has neither. First, it's much thinner than regular jeans. Second, and this is the weird part, there's so much stretch.... It's like jeggings material. The large fits, but given the amount of stretch I could have easily sized down. It looks nice enough, but I'm not sure it will last more than a season or two. It won't be a workhorse in my wardrobe, but it's ok. Nice pockets.
