Great product, my kid really struggles getting all of the plaque near her gum line and this has helped her improve! I have her brush once doing the best job she can then we check it by doing this afterwards to see where she needs to focus. Then she brushes again to get those areas! The purple is a bit messy but rinses down the sink pretty easily with water. Kid has not complaints on the taste and likes using them!

Dental plaque disclosing tablets are designed to help children (and let's be honest, not just children) maintain oral hygiene. When chewed, they stain the plaque on teeth a bright purple color.My son and I use them to learn how to properly brush our teeth. As soon as we see the purple color in certain areas after chewing, it means we need to work a little more with the toothbrush. You can even turn it into a game, especially since kids learn best through examples.The tablets themselves have no distinct taste, so chewing them doesn't cause any discomfort.Of course, it can get a bit messy, but you can simply rinse everything away with a stream of water.In short, you’ve probably guessed it: I recommend Fresh Knight tablets.

After trial and error on my son's part. We finally got this to really work. It does what it is suppose to and has helped with better brushing habits. It does stain the tongue and it is a little difficult to get it cleaned off but at least he is learning to properly clean the plaque thoroughly.

Everything about this product is excessive. First, do you really need 96 tablets? Probably not. I think about 12, at most, will get the job done. Second, scrubbing your sink may not get the pink out after brushing--do it quickly. I am pretty sure it will eventually wear off of the sink, but make sure your kid knows how to spit IN the sink. You might want to coat the bathroom in plastic trash bags if you have one of those kids who will open their mouths and let slobber drip out in a fit of dramatics at the slightest provocation from something slightly distasteful. Third, yeah, your kid's tongue might be purple a few days. However, chances are good you are here because your child is not getting every side and angle of their teeth properly when brushing. I have just started using these on my fifth child after successfully using the similar GUM ones on the others. If nothing else, these let you see where you need to spot check because your kid missed and saves you from having to re-brush their entire mouths just to make sure. I was willing to pay for tablets I will never use in order to get those I will use, so I can prevent my child from getting tooth decay, but I wasn't quite willing to purchase 248 of the GUM ones at a slightly higher price to get the product I used for my other children. I also don't mind a slightly discolored sink if I can help my child become more independent with brushing. I feel GUM's product was better, but getting it is much more difficult, now. This seems to be the only product available of its kind safely available to the general public. The GUM brand comes in a pack of 248 from a dental supply company directly, and although someone is selling them on Bolo in smaller quantities that come packaged in plastic baggies-- I don't feel safe giving those to my child even if they are individually wrapped.

Back in the 70's, they gave these things out like candy to encourage us to brush...I still remember the taste of them! We got these thinking they'd help our grandson brush better. Nope. He's a smart cookie and caught on...won't use them. BUT...I took a trip down memory lane and chewed one. The taste is MUCH better now...and the effect is the same. LOL...I'm happy that my brushing habits are pretty good...not too much pink showed through. ;-)

At first, these were great! I have my daughter use these, so that she can see where she still needs to brush & make sure she’s doing a thorough brushing. They worked great for a while, and I purchased multiple times, however, the past couple times, they weren’t even able to be used. In the past, the tablets have made her teeth a very vivid magenta color, and now, it doesn’t show more than a slight tint on her teeth. Sometimes we had her use multiple of them & this happened with all of them. We ordered multiple times thinking it was possibly a flake, but it wasn’t. So, the pink not showing up is odd, I know her teeth aren’t that clean because the last time she brushed was in the morning, and I know she didn’t brush them on her own, bc she is so stubborn with teeth brushing which is why we had to start using these in the first place. It’s disappointing. We changed brands & they work the way these used to.
