5.0 out of 5 stars Fits Well and Always Works.
I have owned a few of these and Satechi is the brand that I use exclusively now. The other brands disconnect and require a second power source. Satechi enclosures fit on the bottom of the MacMini (MM) and stack perfectly. I have one of these on all 4 of our MM and they have never given us any problems. The other brand disconnects the hard drive intermittently which is a pain for our media center MM because I have to dig it out to reset it. Save yourself some time and trouble and buy a Satechi! You won't be disappointed.
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome addition to unlock more potential out of my Mac Mini
I love how minimal it looks, as if it’s always been part of my Mac. I wish the color was a bit more accurate though, as it is a tad lighter than the aluminum Mac mini casing. It was incredibly easy to install a 1TB nvme ssd, it’s completely hidden, and I can literally edit all my videos straight from that ssd without any noticeable difference in performance
5.0 out of 5 stars Adds additional functionality, ports and memory for a low price.
The look and feel of this product is a match for the Apple Original it connects to. Added a 2TB DDS memory, and everything has worked smoothly. Great to have more ports on the front - no fiddling around at the back….
4.0 out of 5 stars NO SSD RETENTION SCREW!!! Otherwise, pretty nice.
Couple things to point out right off:>> set up your Mini first, then connect the dock. I put in the NvME and the 2 USB cables for the Magic mouse and keyboard and connected it to the mini before turning the Mini on the first time. Big mistake. Didn't immediately recognise the mouse and keyboard, had to plug in non-Apple ones to get through set-up. After that the Magic devices paired auccessfully but the NvME was recognized, had to use Finder (after much googling) to find it. I ended up doing a clean re-install the next day and, then, everything "just worked", perfectly.>> about that NvME, while they include a cheap and nasty little screwdriver THEY DID NOT INCLUDE A RETENTION SCREW!!!! I had to hunt through motherboard boxes (I built 4 PCs last year) to find a screw but it turned the standard M.2 screw didn't fit, it was way too small. So I had to dig through PC case cartons to find more screws, turns out it the same size screw used to mount a m/b to the stand-offs in the case. I took off 1 star just for that. I was sorely tempted to take 2 off but the dock is otherwise very nice.As far as form and function go, it seems to work fine and looks good doing it. I matches the Mini perfectly and provides easy front access to the ports. One slightly off thing is the power LED is green, while the Mini's is yellow, also it's a couple mm off set from the Mini's - would;ve been nicer if they were aligned but that's just my OCD. I haven't tried any spped tests on the NvME but I know from various youtube reviews that it's not going to be anywhere the rated spped but that just down to it being an external drive connected over USB rather than on-board, so not really on Satechi.Except for the screw issue, I'm very pleased with the dock. Unit seems quite well-made and the price is very reasonable. Can heartily recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Happy so far using with my M2 Mac Mini
The Satechi hub has been working great with my M2 Mac Mini so far!I installed a crucial 500gb SSD into the unit and have experienced good enough transfer speeds and no connection drops.Others have reported slower wifi speeds, but I have not experienced a noticeable difference in my use. Speed test attached for reference. My only gripe is that the color is slightly off, but not a deal breaker.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Mini Hub with Useful Ports, but Could Benefit from Better Cable Management
I really like this mini hub, but there's one aspect I'm not too fond of. The additional ports for the Mac Mini are incredibly useful, and I love having the extra connectivity options. However, I would prefer if the ports were located on the back, as having cables on the front creates a bit of clutter. The card readers on the front, though, are perfect and exactly where they should be. Overall, it's a great product with just a minor tweak that could make it even better!Let's make this Satechi Mac Mini Hub - BETTER! :D
5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly.
So far it performs as a seamless extension of my Mac Mini M1. I have fought endlessly with other drive enclosures unpredictably dismounting from my Mac, causing the warning about incorrectly disconnecting drives before properly ejecting them. This dock with an added NVME SSD has worked perfectly since it was connected.
5.0 out of 5 stars I love this dock!!
I love this dock. The Mac Studio fits on the dock perfectly. I love the fit and finish - my only criticism is that the color of the dock could match the color of the Mac a little more closely to make it look completely seamless. But I had to be really critical to dig that up.This dock was super easy to connect. The SSD was easy to install. And it just works!I highly recommend this dock.
Easy to set up.
Not having a lot of knowledge about computers this is really is easy to set up. Gives the extra ports that the Mac mini 2 doesn't have and the ports are in the front for easy access.
Great hub that’s a perfect fit for your Mac mini
I had the original Satechi Mac mini hub in space grey for my 2018 Mac mini. So when I updated to the 2023 Mac mini, it was a no brainer to also update to the latest version of this hub, this time in silver to match to the new mini, and with the addition of the M.2 SATA SSD slot.As expected, it is a perfect fit with the Mac mini sitting in the cavity at the top of the hub. While the speed of the USB ports are only 5Gb/s, that more then enough for my uses, especially with the convenience of having easily accessible ports on the front. Also, it just plain looks good with the Mac mini.I installed a Western Digital 3D NAND 2TB M.2 SATA SSD in the available slot at bottom of the hub, and it works flawlessly. Be sure you install an M.2 SATA SSD. M.2 NVMe SSD’s, despite looking almost the same, will not work. Look for 2 notches on the end for the SATA SSD where the contacts are, instead of 1 on NVMe’s.

Bien.
