5.0 out of 5 stars It's very nice.
I purchased it for my roommate but unfortunately she hasn't used it yet.I wasted my money!
3.0 out of 5 stars Heaviest piece
Item was described at being 37 pounds for heaviest piece, and this is incorrect! I can barely lift it when disassembled , and I need to be able to use this scooter without help from anyone but myself. I cried when I realized it won’t work for me and that didn’t help😭
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice lightweight mobility scooter
Assembly was easy. Missing one screw to secure one of the fenders but I had a spare so I didn't worry about contacting the vendor. Breaks down quickly--read the directions. Took me a minute to get the battery to latch but once I got it, replacing it was easy the next time. Depending on your abilities, it can be a little tricky to move by yourself. Fit in the back seat of a sedan when folded.Onto the important bits: I rode it around my neighborhood for about a half mile. Reasonably hilly. Handled the uphill sections great. No problems. Brakes are okay but the wheels may lock a bit if you aren't careful. I suspect with more riding you'd get the feel for it (kind of like switching cars). It's important to use the break as if you release the accelerator going up hill, the scooter will roll backwards--much like a standard transmission in neutral. The brake has a parking break setting. It's good to use that when parked, just remember to take it off when you get ready to go (it only took me five minutes or to remember I set it). Reverse works well. Comes with a handy basket--you'll want to take it off if you are folding it but it comes on and off easily. Comes with two batteries and has easy access to store a spare battery. The company makes other products that use the same battery so it should be easy to pick up an extra if needed. Both batteries came fully charged. The on switch is on the left side of the handle bar. There is a switch that looks like it should turn it on on the right. It's a battery condition check tool. Useful, but I wish it had more than three lights. On my half mile journey, it moved from fully charged to the middle light.I found the scooter to be very stable though I didn't try a slalom course. The scooter does come with a warning not to do a sharp turn at full speed.Overall, the scooter seems like a great option for portability.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very compact for a mobile scooter
This was the ONLY scooter that would fold up small enough to fit in the trunk of my husband's antique 1971 dodge dart. It is good transportation for the price. Very pleased with it so far. Extra battery a plus, and it's very lightweight, easy to pick up and put in the trunk.
2.0 out of 5 stars Almost good…
I was so excited to get this scooter. My regular scooter was in the shop and thought it was perfect for emergency situations. Well, I thought that it was going to be great. But… No turn radius, AT ALL. you can’t go into a store or a busy environment because you will have to do a 20 point turn around to get around a simple grocery isle. Next, it feels like it’s going to fall apart right from the first ride. The seat is wobbly, the handle is short and wobbly, and it is not made for people with longer legs. I’m 5’9 and I have to fold up to sit on it. It is very portable, the batteries are an amazing design, great if you are out and about. Quick change batteries. Very easy to fold and lift, but I would not recommend for regular use.
5.0 out of 5 stars Mobility scooter
This right here is a game changer, when I say it’s good quality is good. Took it to my first cruise 🚢 I loved every moment, went far place's. Worth every penny it deserves 10 stars! It brings two batters which is a plus…. I truly recommend.Thank you!
5.0 out of 5 stars Appropriate name
The name of "super handy" is actually fitting. Dad had foot surgery and still has a wound vac on so he will be non weight bearing for a bit. This really ruined our summer plans. Luckily this scooter came through for us. It was pretty easy to assemble, only a few pieves like the wheel, seat, other little bits. I only used a wrench to tighten the bolts on the seat. The bolts were missing at first, but I called the company and they shipped them out no problem. Dad is over six feet while mom is a bit over five yet both had no issue using this scooter. The handle bars do need to be collapsed when folding, but the size easily fits in the trunk. It is pretty awkward to carry so we typically had one person carry each size. Weighs less than 50 lbs so pretty cool as dad can do it himself though someone older or more fragile might not. You do feel the bumps if it's not a smooth surface, but really not terrible. You sacrifice a bit of suspension for lightweight so I'm perfectly fine with that. I'd rather have it compact enough to fit the trunk since a non folding scooter would require a tow before or platform that would be a big added cost so ick no. The seat is pretty comfortable as it's all foam and pleather. It also moves a lot faster than we expected, like a decent jog. It can't turn terribly tight, but he was able to navigate the hospital ok. It's an on/off button so the boys sometimes forget to turn it off. I also vaguely worry about theft if he had to go somewhere alone and needed the bathroom, but a bike lock should be fine. The handbrake goes to one wheel and the motor goes to one wheel. The battery lasted longer than expected. Despite dad weighing about 250 the battery lasted at the zoo from 11am-4pm minus lunch break. He did switch out the battery, but there was still charge in the first. It's so easily to swap out the battery and carry the spare in the little box. Battery even has a nice light up indicator on the battery itself and the handles so no nasty surprise. He might replace the plastic pin on the steering bar with a metal one as sometimes the bar gets misaligned with the base when turning. Overall it is great quality and we were so lucky to get something so useful, dare I say something so "super handy."
1.0 out of 5 stars Poor workmanship
I like the scooter the issue is the seat. The vinyl doesn’t cover the foam and it’s sticking out on the side of the seat and one of the screws are stripped, which could be a safetyHazard we called numerous times. They haven’t gotten back to us very disappointed if you don’t wanna be treated this way, I would look for a different company to purchase a scooter very disappointed, senior citizen thank you. Defective part
Plastic sleeve that the seat slides into was broken, causing the seat to wobble from side to side, doesn't feel stable, otherwise the scooter is okay
30% lighter than competitors!
You will find this scooter easier to manoeuvre in and out if the back of your car than many of it's competitors. I moved from a 28kg motorised machine to this one, and weighing 30% less it's far less of a struggle. Backed up by excellent support I'd recommend this to others
Super handy for a 2 b journey in town (not for inside shops).
Handy for a gout sufferer! Wanted this to get my husband to go to the park during gout attacks, is ideal for this, packs away small so doesnt take up much room when not in use (and easy to transport). Took a while to put together and feels a bit lightweight with the small wheels but worked well on pavements (fairly smooth on route to park but does go over wooden bridge and a park track) - wouldnt take it cross country route as not that kind of unit. Has a wide turning circle so no good for in shops but for our purpose, it is good (so if needed for going to a cafe or restaurant to leave outside, that would work, you just need a bike lock). Battery holds charge well (havnt needed the second but handy to have should we need it for longer trips). Not the comfiest but okay. High priced but seems average for item.
Safety concerns
Weighing in at under 22kg with a maximum user weight of 150kg (23 and half stone) is a good start. It comes with two batteries, similar to those found on power tools which give a total maximum range of 6.5 miles, or 3.25 each. There is storage on the seat post for the second battery so carrying it and changing it is easy. It drives nice and smoothly and as the rear wheelbase is nearly 24” wide it feels stable, as long as you corner with care. Riding it on a pavement with the camber and slopes for residents’ drives I was very aware of the slopes. I have used a variety of mobility scooters over the years and I felt the slopes a bit more with this one than others I have used, probably due to the small wheels, but even so I felt wary when riding it on anything other than a flat surface. So far so good, but now for the not so good.Firstly there is no motor brake, if you take your thumb off the throttle the scooter carries on moving, if you do nothing it will continue for quite a while depending on the surface. You have to apply a mechanical brake situated on the left hand side of the handlebars, similar to a bike. This means that, even with practice, this scooter takes at least a couple of feet to stop, whereas mobility scooters usually stop when you release the throttle, and stay stopped, this one you have to apply the brake and either hold it or lock it on, for which you use a small lever. This is quite fiddly and takes a bit of effort. Someone who struggles with coordination or dexterity would find this very difficult. The seat does not swivel so you have to step onto the foot plate before you can sit down, this could be an issue depending upon the user’s disability. The handlebars adjust up and down but there is no angle adjustment, and as the seat does not move forward you are stuck with it as it is.The locking catch that secures the handlebars when folded or for use is very stiff and isn’t easy to operate, and for most users this is a two person lift to get it into a car, it does take up quite a bit of space, even when folded, so if it needs to go in a car boot I would advise you check the measurements. At time of review this scooter was selling for £849 and is reasonable value. It is probably best suited to going round shops or shopping centres, or short local trips, anything more than that I think it would struggle. My main issue with it is the method of braking, I think this would be a safety issue with many users, especially if used alongside a larger scooter that has motor braking. I am a bit torn between giving it 4 stars, due to the price and weight or 3 stars because of the safety issue, but safety has to be the most important, so 3 stars it is.This is a review of an item received free as part of the Bolo Vine program. I make my reviews as objective as possible and only award 5 stars if I feel a product is really worth it and is something that I would be happy to buy.
Great quality.
Better than expected. Easy to assemble. Light weight so easier to lift. Comes with everything you need from a basket on the front to a bell.
