They work as advertised but they are in a plastic shell - unnecessary amount of trash
I decided to give these ovluation tests a try and while they are easy to use and deliver satisfactory (so far - accurate) results, they are plastic based and thus, create a lot of unnecessary trash.I usually use the paper-based ovulation strips as they create less trash and are equally accurate. And since most use a couple of ovulation tests per month - it is much better for the environment, in my opinion.These tests here are the larger, plastic ones with a shell, so each test creates plastic trash that could have been easily prevented. Thus, only 3 stars from me as the product is just not sustainable.
A pack of 5 ovulation tests - mostly suitable for people with regular cycles, 3.5 stars
This is a set of ovulation tests which are measuring luteinising hormone (LH) in urine. The set contains 5 individually packed plastic sticks that can be used with mid-stream urine or dipped in a container of collected urine. The absorbent pad absorbs sufficient amount of urine and the result appears in a test window.I mostly tend to use paper based LH test strips and I must admit that I do prefer those as I find them less wasteful than this type of plastic-stick based tests. I don't think that there is a need to use such a large amount of plastic to check LH levels (which many of us do for quite a few days during each cycle). Additionally, I think that 5 tests is only sufficient for people with regular cycles that already have an idea when their LH peak might be occurring. Anyone with irregular cycles or post-pregnancy/pregnancy loss would likely need way more tests than 5 to find their LH peak.Having said that, if you have regular cycles and prefer mid-stream urine based tests (rather than needing to collect urine in a container each time), this test is not a bad option for you. The test are individually packed. The instructions are clear and the test is easy to use. The box of tests that I received had a good expiry date (10/2025).
