5.0 out of 5 stars Does the job!
Where was this during the peak of Covid! This would’ve been an essential item in our household. We were the ones that disinfected every doorknob, counter, groceries, etc. This is still very useful for us now. As my boyfriend does have a compromised immune system. We do still make sure to clean everything down once a week. One tablet can be used in 32 oz of water, but it only lasts for 48 hours. Which actually makes us feel safer knowing that the active ingredients are working…right away! We don’t like throwing any of this stuff out, so we’ve made a whole day of cleaning everything with this stuff. Now, it gives us no excuse to procrastinate cleaning out our garbage cans and recycling bins.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good for Marathon Weekend Cleaning Session
As a few others have mentioned, the instructions are clear that each dissolved tablet is good for 48 hours. This is unfortunately still not mentioned in the product description, and is a huge peeve of mine when it comes to products on Bolo (and especially those offered in the Vine program). It is disappointing to receive a product only to find a key piece of information after you have received it.I would typically have no problem taking off two stars for this inconsiderate lack of info on the product page. But being that this product includes fifty tablets, I feel that it's still a great value, and cuts down on waste. You just need to have enough stuff to clean in two days. We aren't spraying things down or cleaning our toilets every week, so once it is time to clean, this can be used all over the house over a couple of days. It's not ideal, but the user can kind of plan for it. And with fifty tablets, it beats having to buy a bunch of spray bottles and finding space to store them.
2.0 out of 5 stars Must be used within 48 hours. Product is meant for use in hospitals and commercial applications.
I was really excited about this product, but it doesn't seem suited for home use. In a nutshell, I was really hoping for a product where I was essentially creating a whole bunch of "bottles of Windex" or something that I could use for a very long time... like years. I love the idea of removing the water from products during shipment. I have been moving to solid laundry detergent, solid shampoos, and solid dish washing soap. I love all of it so far... but this product is not what I thought it was.It (very nicely) comes with a full Material Safety Data Sheet that I actually read. I was pretty excited about it until I read that each bottle is only good for 48 hours. This is not a cleaner, it is an industrial disinfectant. I don't really see a need for this in a typical home. If you run a business, or a school, or a daycare, or a gym, or a hospital... then fine, this is for you! You should buy it!But in a typical home? I just don't see myself brewing up a brand new bottle every time I want to clean something. It does say that it removes mold and mildew, so I can probably see myself brewing it up for that purpose. I can clean all of the bathrooms at once. But a normal bottle of regular cleaner can last for years in my home. It is a pity that this loses efficacy in 48 hours. After testing this in my showers, my hands absolutely smelled exactly like chlorine bleach. It was a rather faint smell, but definitely there. It did appear to reduce the grout mold in the shower, but not completely eliminate it like bleach does.I LOVE the sprayer that it comes with. Very professional and powerful.
3.0 out of 5 stars Description Does Not Explain The Solution Is Only Good for 48 Hours
You get a jar of 50 tablets, a professional grade spray bottle, and a cleaning cloth in the kit. Your supposed to dissolve 1 tablet in 32 oz of water to create the cleaner/disinfectant. I wanted to try this because the idea of getting 50 bottles of cleaner/disinfectant for $36 (at time of this review) seems amazing! However, they don't say in the listing that you have to use the mixed bottle within 48 hours before it loses it's efficacy, which it does say in the enclosed instructions. I use it for the 48 hours it's effective, then I have to flush the rest down the toilet or pour it down the drain, and it just seems like such a waste. It says it's for cleaning and disinfecting, but the cleaning part isn't that impressive. For instance, dried on foods, or soap residue does not come all the way off, even if you let it sit for a minute or so, without some serious scrubbing. I'm assuming it works as it should as a disinfectant, but given the fact that you have to throw out what you don't use within 48 hours, and the cleaning part is not that great, I cannot recommend for standard household use. It probably would work for professional house cleaners or in a commercial or hospital setting where you would use 32 oz every couple of days. Then it would at least be a cost effective disinfectant.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very powerful!
I hadn't had occasion to use this cleaner yet, but last night I realized one of our bar stools smelled terrible. I put it by the back door to throw away, because I'd tried to clean it multiple times and the smell just wouldn't go away. The seat is made of vinyl (I think) that's supposed to look like a poor leather replica. But this morning I remembered this spray and figured I'd give it a go.First, the cleaner consists of a tub of pellets and an empty spray bottle. To activate, I put a single pellet into the spray bottle and filled it with water. After about 4 minutes the pellet had dissolved and the cleaner was ready to go. I sprayed PurOne on the stool and waited a few minutes, wiping it off. This stuff smells like a disinfectant, which is exactly what I needed. You will KNOW the surface you're spraying is going to be clean by the smell, if you know what I mean. The chair has been salvaged! It no longer smells. So PurOne gets a big thumbs up for this application.Frankly, I know the type of situations where I'm going to use this spray: the trash can, spots where the cat pukes, everywhere around, on, and in the toilet, probably the bathroom sink, and so on. This stuff is potent. I wish I'd used it sooner.Verdict? This stuff is powerful and I highly recommend it if you're looking to disinfect! If you want something that smells nice, look elsewhere.
