3.0 out of 5 stars Minimal effect
After doing some reading about what L-citrulline is and does, I was hoping for basically a cut season version of creatine. In practice, this supplement fell short. I've noticed very little if any changes in energy levels, performance improvement, or delayed muscle soreness. It does give me a very dry mouth, though.I probably will not restock after I run out.
2.0 out of 5 stars Prime Labs L Arginine Nitric Oxide - uses fillers
I use the label and the ad to judge the quality of a supplement. I use not only what IS there, but also what isn't there.Prime Labs L Arginine Nitric OxidePROS:Made in USA (but from domestic and imported ingredients)CONS:According to the FTC, to label a product “Made in USA” all or virtually all of the product must be made in the United States. However, if more than a negligible amount of the product is made elsewhere, it must comply with FTC rules and carry a supplemental line such as “with global components.” I'd like to know where the ingredients are sourced. Buying everything from China and putting it in a capsule in the USA is what I see when I read "Made in USA of global ingredients"$13.25 for 30 servings is 44¢ per serving. While not bad for a USA made product, the ingredients are NOT USA sourced.Uses fillers:📌 Magnesium stearate (stearic acid, vegetable stearate,) is a water-insoluble powder that is made up of stearic acid and magnesium. It is used as a release agent and a lubricant in the production of foods, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. It also works as an emulsifier, binder, and thickening, anticaking, lubricant, release and antifoaming agent. Used as a “flow agent,” it helps speed up the manufacturing process because it prevents ingredients from sticking to the mechanical equipment. Magnesium stearate is broken down by the body into stearic acid. If you ingest too much, it can have a laxative effect. It can irritate the mucosal lining of your bowels. This can cause your bowels to spasm, triggering a bowel movement or even diarrhea. It provides no benefit to the consumer.📌 Silicon dioxide (quartz or silica) is a natural chemical mix of silicon and oxygen that has uses in many food products as an anticaking agent. In a supplement, it is of no benefit to the consumer. When ingested in large amounts, it makes it harder for the body to absorb it. In return makes it harder for your body to absorb the other nutrients you need such as fats, minerals, and vitamins. So, taking supplements with this ingredient is most likely counter productive.
