    Sturdy high-spec DisplayPort 2.1 cable

    This braided Ubluker DisplayPort cable is nicely made and feels sturdy. I used it to connect a PC to a spare port on a 4K display and it worked perfectly; the 2.0m length is great for me as the PC sits to one side of the desk and has to reach a fair distance.This is a DisplayPort 2.1 cable which means up to 80 Gbps bandwidth (more than double DisplayPort 1.4). Potentially this could support 8K at 85Hz or 16K at 60Hz though most of us do not have such capable displays! It is backwards compatible so can also be used with older DisplayPort 1.4 equipment. It also supports Nvidia’s G-Sync standard.One of the things that attracted me to this cable is that the manufacturer claims that it is VESA certified, and it uses the DisplayPort logo. I always try to check this by looking on the VESA list of certified products but I could not find Ubluker listed there. The answer perhaps is that it is certified under some other brand name but I do think the manufacturer is missing a trick here, since there anyone can claim to be certified but it is only by checking the official list that one can be sure.
