5.0 out of 5 stars Great for leatherworking
I use this for sheath making and it works great. It is very strong and durable, it doesnt have excessive drag when I pull it through either. It looks great with the stitching pulled tight. It is overall just perfect for my needs. Strong enough not to break, thin enough to not be hard to work with, thick enough not to cut the leather when pulled tight. This is just a great heavy duty thread. Very well made and meets my needs perfectly.
5.0 out of 5 stars Time Travel Can Be Dangerous When Your Thread Unravels
Sewing isn't my main gig. I do collect, and repair vintage '50s & '60s (mostly Japanese) machines - at last count 17. I've tried this thread in the two industrials (Juke ddl 555 & Singer 251-22). It feeds smoothly using #18 needle. I've been using Polyester for all my heavy duty sewing - I think I originally went with polyester because it was cheaper. I've had issues with the polyester unraveling occasionally - on both machines - but more on the Singer that has a walking Needle. Happily, it doesn't seem to be an issue with this HiloHilo, ThreadThread Nylon. Now I'm of the opinion - it's worth the extra nickle for the nylon. Could be I just got some bad polyester. Still, I like this thread - that said, I think they're asking a bit much with the 50$ price tag. I'll be looking for that to come down a bit in the near future. Till then I'll be time travelin' into the future at 86,400 seconds a day. Maybe, it'll be cheaper when I get back.5 Stars for The ThreadThread Extra Strong Bonded Nylon Big Spool
5.0 out of 5 stars Strong, vibrant, excellent quality
I'm making bench seats for a client's RV dinette, so I wanted to use a 90 weight thread to sew the upholstery fabric and the vinyl (and with extra batting and stiffener on some parts). The royal blue color of this thread is perfect for the fabric, and it's quite striking. The thread has the thickness and texture of other high quality threads I possess. I tested it out on a piece of scrap suede, and it sewed beautifully even though I had a different weight thread in the bobbin (I'll adjust bobbin and machine tension later). When I test thread, I look for strength, color, thickness, and how well it moves through my sewing machine. This thread earns an A+ in all of these qualities. I'll enjoy sewing upholstery, suede, and leather with it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very excited for this thread
I know it’s thread and how exciting is that? But it’s 6000 yards of thread in the exact weight I use for my new-to-me industrial sewing machine and in a neutral color I use the most. I’m just getting into bag making and will definitely use this thread heavily.
2.0 out of 5 stars Not what as expected
The picture of the stitches show a much larger diameter thread... the actual thread is very small and not the type that works well with heavy canvas or owning material... expensive.
4.0 out of 5 stars Upholstery thread
Like the thread, a little pricey
5.0 out of 5 stars Well made and well packaged nylon thread
I'm happy with this black nylon thread and find it to be strong and easy to work with. I used it to repair some outdoor camping equipment including a tent and backpack. So this is not a typical use, as I did the sewing by hand and not with a machine which this thread is really designed for. But it was easy to work with and I managed to re-sew some seams that had come apart and sew on a couple of patches in some worn areas. This thread is quite strong and I may try it on some clothing repairs next. Probably not good for fashion wear, but for blue jeans, it could really be great.
