To be honest, this item came to me unexpectedly and I quickly learned to love it!Disclaimer – I use Android, not an Apple Phone. All references to Apple functions are from the manufacture’s claims, not my direct observations.In short, it adds the functionality of a modern GPS and Phone integration Bluetooth system to cars that don’t have one. If your car does have one, it enhances that system with a larger screen and added functionality.What I like:- Wireless: Use this in any car with an existing Bluetooth system, or one without any system installed to integrate your smartphone into your driving experience using Android Auto, Google Assistant or Apple CarPlay.- Audio Integration: Connects to the car's sound system via Bluetooth, Aux Input, or FM radio ensuring all audio is played through the car speakers!- Voice Control: Utilize Siri or Google Assistant for hands-free operation.- Real-Time GPS: Using Google or Apple Maps and Waze.- Dual Dash Cam Recording: Capture detailed footage with front 4K and rear 1080P cameras.- Easy Installation: Fits anywhere, flexible base allows you to install just where it’s needed.What I didn’t like (So much):- Smaller Size: The 7-inch screen is smallish, but quite adequate. Much larger than a phone. OTOH, it makes it easier to install without blocking your view. - You Will Need a Smartphone: Relies on smartphone connectivity for functionality.Overall Review:I like this! I tested it in a 2017 Prius with an existing audio system (Bluetooth, non-paid for Navigation, XM radio) and it integrated seamlessly. I could use voice commands, screen prompts and the Map function with Waze was great! There is limited app use from your phone, unfortunately restricted by Federal Law as to video use. Audio via your choice of connection works great though! Any music application or service on your phone will be available on your cars sound system including the XM radio app! This alone will save me money as I can drop one of my XM subscriptions as I will move this to my 2011 Expedition that has a very early Bluetooth installed to expand its usability.The package came very quickly and nicely wrapped with easy instructions. It comes with two different car mount options and all the tools to help with mounting it. Once you turn it on, the easy-to-follow instructions connects your phone via Bluetooth or wireless.I've encountered a few minor hiccups, such as occasional connectivity issues and slower response times during heavy usage. While these issues are infrequent and not overly disruptive, they do detract from the otherwise excellent performance and as far as I can tell, are software issues associated with Android Auto or Google Assistant.Overall, despite the minor drawbacks, I highly recommend this Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay adapter for anyone looking to modernize their vehicle's infotainment system. It's a worthwhile investment that significantly improves the convenience and functionality of your driving experience.
5.0 out of 5 stars Exceeds Expectations for an Inexpensive Device
I've only had this for a short time so I can't comment on durability, but it seems to be well designed and constructed and it certainly works very well for what it is, especially at the price point. Seamless integration with my Samsung phone using Android Auto. Clear, bright and responsive touch screen, but glare can be an issue depending on placement (as is the case with most in-car screens). No internal battery so it needs to be plugged into 12v power socket to function. Power cord plug is a bit bulky but does offer an extra USB port for charging a phone or accessory. Still learning features and all it can do but pleasantly surprised by it so far. Haven't connected/tested back-up camera yet and not sure I will - don't really need it. If I come across any significant shortcomings in the next few weeks I'll update review, but so far so good.

When I first received the Carplay unit I tested it on my table and had it running in less than 5 minutes. This gave me the opportunity to make sure that everything was working and to get familiar with the functionality.Initially I just went through all of the menus to get a feel for how it worked, then I watched the YouTube video referenced in the manual. I would suggest watching the video after you have spent some time going through the menu options. This will give you a general feel of the functionality then the video fills in the gaps on how to configure and use everything.All of my phones are Android based so I only tested the Android functionality and could not test the IPhone functionality.Pros:* Very easy to set up. Plug and play!* Operation is very intuitive and easy to navigate.* Camera image quality is excellent and my camera pictures I posted here do not show how good the quality is.* The display is a good size and I would not want anything larger for attaching to the top of the dash or windshield.* Includes multiple mounting bracket types* Can not beat the price and quality.Cons:* The only negative thing I can say and it is "very minor" is that the Windshield suction unit does allow the display to bounce around slightly due to the display weight, so I ended up locating mine in the windshield corner so the display bottom could rest on the top of the dash.On the positive side, the actual suction cup is excellent and sticks better than any other suction cup I have used in the past. The unit includes a top of the dash mounting bracket that is more rigid and it can be stuck to the dash, however, I want the ability to switch the unit with the front facing camera between vehicles.Overall I recommend this unit and give it 5 stars.
