5.0 out of 5 stars Great replacement board!
(function(){ P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function'){ A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })() I bought this to replace my messed up board and so far, I have been very pleased with all its features. It's a great length for beginners, and the wheels seem like they will last as long as I need them to.The speed is slower than I am used to, but I don't really mind, as I am using them in a busy city with lots of incompetent drivers and pedestrians.I'll update this review as I use it more and more.
4.0 out of 5 stars Really solid, but one major flaw
After being consumed by 25 years of skating, five years eboarding, and 15 traveling/backpacking, I really wanted a board that could combine the three loves of my life. This is the first smaller, lighter board that I've come across that looks like a complete, functional setup that is maneuverable enough for a few simple tricks and small enough to bring traveling. This mostly delivers! It's a great looking board with a cohesive presentation, it's super fun, seems priced appropriately, includes everything you need, and is very functional. The wheels are soft and grippy, but still not so soft to make the board slow. All plugs and buttons feel premium. It has a nice amount of flex (maybe slightly more than I'd prefer, but still really good). The speed is pretty much exactly what I expected. It's maybe a little less than half as powerful as a typical full sized eboard, but still feels very present and is great for comfortable, chill crusing. I'm happier with the lower power than I expected. The only thing I can't get over is theCOMPLETE LACK OF CONCAVE.Why would you do this guys? Why would you put together such a great board and package and have the board actually be convex? It feels terrible and makes turning harder. Concave has been a staple of decks for decades for a reason. The transmitter is also kind of big and cheap feeling, but functions well (I love the physical reverse button). The one motorized wheel is a little smaller in diameter and longer than the rest. The bearings could also be upgraded.So. In the end. I'm going to have to take the electronics out and switch to a board that I don't hate, so I guess I should have just built my own travel eboard to begin with. They are so close to a good thing here, and if they would make the board have concave, I'd wholeheartedly recommend purchasing it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great starter board and very functional for the price!
I ordered this board for my granddaughter who is 12. She has been learning to ride a regular skateboard and she has a hoverboard so I thought this might be a fun addition. The board seems very sturdy and well built. It charges up in just over an hour and holds a charge long enough for her to get all around our gated community. We really like the remote control to help control the speed, such a great feature. The board has a lot of power and easily holds her parents when they try it out. She said it did not have the same maneuvering ability as her regular skateboard but since she primarily uses it as electric transportation around the neighborhood it works perfectly for her. She is not really into doing tricks on her skateboard. She says that all of her friends think it’s cool so it has been a big hit. She did say she only wishes it were pink instead of yellow…. Spoken like a 12 year old girl!
5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun
Very fun electric skateboard that gets your around quick. 3 adjustable speeds to travel around town. Sturdy and fun. Comes with remote and board that charge with included cables. Can be used without electricity as well. Fun for people of all ages. Size is roughly the size of a standard skateboard. Well priced for quick electric skateboard.
4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Beginner Electric Skateboard
This is a great board for its price point - enough to get you started and having fun without breaking the bank. The build quality is solid - heavy metal trucks and heavy duty finish throughout, with a well-fitted battery door on the bottom and no wiggle in the power button and charge jack. The deck may be wood, but it’s hard to tell, as everything is encased in plastic, with grip tape covering the top (the finish there is a bit iffy - lots of bubbles in our unit, but easy enough to fix with a needle and a little pressure).Performance is impressive for a single-wheel motor in such a compact package. The three modes provide different top speeds, while the sporty mode offers faster acceleration up to the top speed. Acceleration itself is a little abrupt from a stop, at least as you learn to use the thumb accelerator. Braking is similarly effective, with a tendency to be a little grabby. Practicing at each of the speed levels will help you learn how to ride comfortably, and once you get the hang of it, it’s a blast! Near silent operation, really responsive steering (the trucks really let you carve) and a top speed that will get you around in a hurry without being frighteningly fast - we didn’t want our teens on a board that could go as fast as a car. The controller is simple and intuitive to use, and the manual provides a good overview of most features, even if the English can be a little cryptic sometimes. One star off because the battery charger doesn’t have overcharge protection, so you need to set a timer when charging (and ideally monitor it for when the charge light turns, assuming you’re not starting from a completely dead battery) to avoid affecting your battery’s life.
5.0 out of 5 stars Takes some practice
This skateboard takes a little bit of practice, or even just experience on a regular skateboard first. We were surprised just how fast this thing goes! It holds a decent charge and speed. The remote control handle lets you adjust the level and speed as you go, so that you can increase as you feel more comfortable. Kids will love this. I would always recommend knee and elbow pads and of course always a helmet while riding this, no matter what. Especially since it goes quite fast, safety always comes first. The range on this thing will let them use it for years to come to get to and from friends houses, school, etc. Great product and lots of fun!
