I wasn't expecting my kid to utilize the pictures on the side of the frames so these were better than if I had happened to order some solid colored frame or a different design. My 3 year old does not speak well at all yet, so he was able to view the progress of the eclipse, then he would finish and take off the glasses and point to which stage he saw when he looked at the sun. That made me really happy he was able to use the glasses as a tool to commincate. He's pretty good at finding ways to compensate communication with us to make up for his speech delay. I would not have thought of packing a chart or anything for him to use, so even though most likely the pictures are just decorative for most people, it served a greater purpose for us. They also stayed in place under my regular sunglasses, and I had mine half under somI used them as bifocals. We hiked around at our viewing site exploring nature and iblooked through the bottom.half.of my sunglasses for walking and such, and then to check eclipse status I looked up through the top half of my sunglasses that had the overlap with the solar glasses. Extra helpful because my needed my hands free to hold kid hands for rock wall climbing.

We had the fortune of being in the path of totality and had an amazing time. The glasses did their job and were effective. If there is an eclipse near you, then give these lightweight glasses a chance and enjoy the view
