5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Mini server
I have two of these in a proxmox cluster. I added 64 GB of RAM and a 4TB NVME and smaller NVME for the boot drive. Both SFP+ ports are being used one for VMs and one for NFS storage. Connectivity and stability have been rock solid. VMs are very snappy most Linux based and the system has been up 24x7 since I got them and no issues. Run cool with current workload. They are running a nine node K8S cluster. I plan to add a third unit for full high availability and then the K8S cluster will be evenly distributed across the machines. I also have a few other VMs that are running on them too. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to setup a home lab and minimize their power bill.
5.0 out of 5 stars The path to true fiber computing is here!
Do not waste your money on thunderbolt to sfp+ converters that don't really work as intended. Buy yourself a computer with integrated sfp+ connections and future proof the fiber revolution. This is my second minisforum PC and I am completely satisfied with the quality and performance of this unit. If I had to have complaints, I would say that the CPU fan can get loud at times, USB 2.0 ports should be in the back, and the sfp+ ports appear to be upside down comparing network switches that I already have. However, everything fits fine, and these tweaks are unnecessary.
4.0 out of 5 stars little powerful well build mini pc
The build quality of this mini-pc is great. It is very powerful to support 96G DDR5 memory and 4 M.2 SSD in addition to 2x 2.5G port and 2x 10G ports. This could be used as a proxmox node to host RKE2. The only issue might be heating but vendor confirmed that it is not to be worries about.
5.0 out of 5 stars Features Galore
Excellent product. Using 10gig adapters for network & internet. Everything works as they should. Best value for the dollar.
3.0 out of 5 stars Would love to give it more stars
This is a good machine, for a solid price and a nice design. It works well as a home server.First issue I ran into was while the machine has been off for some time as I was moving. The machine would not turn back on. I did get link lights on the back of the machine, but the power button did nothing. I only got the machine running back again by following some recommended steps on reddit saying to disconnect the CMOS battery (left it out for about 30 minutes or so). Then the machine was able to finally boot. But obviously the BIOS settings were lost.I did reach out to minisforum support and received a response right away offering a replacement for a barebones version. I did not take it as I did manage to get the computer to start back up, but followed up with a question regarding any known issues with the device or maybe an issue with the BIOS eating up the CMOS battery while the computer is off. I have not heard back on that yet.I wish I could give this machine 2 more stars as it is great, but this issue makes it less reliable.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great little PC, be sure to apply Intel microcode updates
The MS-01 is extremely fast with the I9 and well built. I installed 3 NVMe plus another in the PCIe slot. 10G and 2.5G ethernet works great under Proxmox. Be sure to install the Intel microcode update, without it you will likely have stability issues. Rocking with 96GB of memory too.
5.0 out of 5 stars Barebone pc with appropriate cooling system that missing in package
Total disappointment. No CPU cooling system. Unable to use. Waste of money.Addendum: Minisforum team solved the problem and now I'm waiting for a parcel with missing parts.Updated. Not solved, not sent. The PC must be returned to received all missing parts.
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome
Used this to replace an Alienware R16 that I got that didn’t work out of the box. Great choice. Had a small issue and they were quick to email me & get it straightened out. Will buy again
