For a first time drone purchase I am extremely satisfied with this product. Easy to learn how to fly. Camera has nice video and picture quality. Easy to understand manual. Good video tutorials.The one thing that I didn't like was the handheld transmitter will only hold up to a certain size / width phone. My newer Samsung GalaxyS23 was to wide to fit in the spring loaded phone holder. I happened to have held onto an older Samsung that was narrow enough to fit in the holder, and had newer enough software to be compatible with the app. (The manual states your phone must have a 5.0 or higher version for Android phones, which my older phone was a 7.0 )I also tried using my new Samsung S9+ tablet to load the Holystone App on, and was disappointed to have my tablet tell me that IT wasn't compatible with the App. Not sure if this is because its a tablet and not a phone, or what ........Anyways , I still am enjoying my purchase of the HS 280D. For the cost, it is a great starter drone if you are looking for one as your first.Sincerely, Greg in NW Missouri USA

When I started looking for a drone to kill spare time, I wanted something I could operate, afford, and crash without feeling it's a waste of money. The Holy Stone 280D fits the bill! It is very simple to operate but with enough of a challenge to hold my attention. Its priced reasonably to not break into my stash funds, and it is durable enough to withstand the few crashes I have already completed.Very pleased with the purchase and the quickness of the shipping. Oh, as I write this, I just get an alert for a Free battery offer from Holy Stone! Life is GOOD!

The new version of the HS280 the HS280D is a great improvement. I still love my 280 but the 280D has some really nice upgrades.Brush-less motors have improved wind resistance and speed, also battery life.optical flow positioning {which works really well} helps hold the drone in positionThe camera takes some of the better pictures i have seen for1080p and the camera is electronically adjusted up and down from the controller and is really smooth.controls are responsive and crispIt flies really nice 2 speeds 1st is slower great for photo positioning or learning 2nd has some zip making it fun to fly.holy stones customer service is impressive they respond fast and will work to resolve any issues you have.all in all its a great little drone if your learning or just looking to add another drone to your collectionfor those concerned with parts or batteries i would contact customer service they have never let me down

The price of the HS280D (less than $100) is very attractive. The brushless motors are very quiet. Comes with 2 modular batteries It also seems to be very quick. Nice looking drone and hovers well if there is no wind. This is the area I did not like. Any wind and the drone has a mind of its own. You can’t take your eyes of it or it could disappear. There are two speeds and you need to be in high to have any chance of getting back to your home base with some breeze. If you are looking for a beginner drone you are better off with a gps one. A least you can look at the phone for a photo. Flight time is decent.

I really like this drone. I have good gps models, but I this one is great for indoors or the backyard. Smooth slow controls. I've even banged it up a bit and there's been no damage. Nice drone to get started with and learn control.No problem connecting to the app. Easy to start up and fly quickly. 15 min battery. More quiet than most drones. And of course, Holy Stone has great customer service. You can't go wrong purchasing the 280d.

Excellent drone!!!
The media could not be loaded. This little drone is incredible. So stable and very easy to fly, responsive to controls and has a very good quality camera for the price point. The battery life is as stated at around 14 minutes per charge per battery.This is by far the most stable drone I’ve ever tried and is quick and easy to set up and get going. Excellent value for money, I’m so pleased with it.
Easy to Control and Cost-effective!
It is rlly cool and easy to control! Tho it's my first to use it but the product introduction book describes it in great detail. And it comes in many different languages so don't worry about not understanding the instruction book. So amazing!I think this is a great drone for anyone wanting to get into drones without spending too much money. The 1080P camera linked well to my phone giving a very good quality image. The video I took used it is rlly pretty😭 I like it!And flight time is about 14 minutes but it offer 2 batteries so you can get around 28 minutes of flight time.Overall I would say this is a excellent drone for a beginner, highly recommended! Buy it plzzzzzz!
Overall the cost benefit is just OK
This Drone is a good choice for beginners, but it does come with a few drawbacks. The brushless motor is definitely a good feature, giving it a smooth flight. There's no Micro SDXC Memory Card slot, so if you're looking to record videos, take note of that. The app is decent. The camera is just okay and there is no stabilization, so don't expect too much. 2 batteries with about 14 minutes of flight each... It's quite expensive for what it offers. Overall, it's good for indoor or outdoor flying. Good for beginners.
Good outdoors drone
At under 250g and classified as a toy you wont need a CAA license so that saves some paperwork. This was a birthday present for an 11 YO who has had an indoor drone before, we haven't got around to setting up the app properly so cant comment on the camera yet. The drone has an automatic take off and landing feature that makes this much easier and the headless mode can stop you worrying which way around it is flying. Seems stable and we took it out in 10-15 Knot winds first time and it did well with them. I think the only feature we would have liked that you get on a more expensive drone is GPS for hovering.
