5.0 out of 5 stars Kitchenaid hit a home run!!!
I had a different brand of superautomatic before this and there are a lot of things to really like about the Kitchenaid. First, I am only an espresso or coffee drinker so I do not care about milk and frothing. Most of my opinions are in contrast with my previous brand. This has an easily accessible water tank with an obvious sightglass to see water level from the left side. The coffee ground puck container and the drip tray are considerably larger and I can go a week without needing to empty them( I am the only one using the machine). The default settings make a perfect espresso so I have not had to mess with changing it, but the options are there if you require something different. This machine has little rollers that help you move it around the countertop, which is necessary for me to access the right side. YMMV.What not to like? Only two small issues, so far. The manual is one of the worst I have had for explaining everything, especially what kind of messages I might receive and what to do about them. Apparently this machine is too new to have generic cleaning tablets available so I am stuck paying Kitchenaid prices for their tabs, but that could change in the future. This is a top-of-the-line machine in many respects but it is so easy to use and makes wonderful coffee as easily as pushing just 2 buttons!
5.0 out of 5 stars Good coffee. Easy cleaning
I have been very happy with this machine. Espresso and coffee options work well. I have tried the drinks with milk included a couple times, but I'm happy with the drink options that don't use that feature. It is easy to clean and catches everyone's attention.
5.0 out of 5 stars High quality
It makes great espresso and coffee. Easy to use and clean. Only negative was the instructions are not great but it’s easy to figure it out on your own.
3.0 out of 5 stars Good with caveats
I like the machine but there are some caveats that make this machine a three instead of five stars: one, it cleans itself when the machine is turned on and before it shuts off, this is good to keep the inside clean but annoying because it uses your water and if you rely on a filter to refill the tank then it kind of wastes clean water for cleaning the machine, secondly it goes through coffee beans very quickly, so I even had to order wholesale cost organic beans to save money because retail refills at high quality would be costly. We make 2-3 cups of coffee a day and we go through one pound of coffee every 6-8 days. Thirdly if you use ground coffee the machine only allows one scoop per automated serving so we have to repeat this step to get a large American cup of coffee. For this reason I give the machine 3 stars. If it was cheaper like $7-800 I’d give it 5. But for this price I expected a bit more.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great Machine - Too Big For Use
Brought as gift for wife as her Gaggia Accademia broke down after 7 years. Was a challenge to get it fixed, so after research, I selected this coffee maker. Unfortunately I had to return it for the following reasons, and not on performance. She loved the machine (she a coffee guru), but I didn't know the difference between steaming the milk vs. frothing the milk. This model didn't have frothing, I decided to return it to get the next model up, but then she noticed it was to long in depth as it wouldn't fit in our kitchen remodel cabinetry, as we only had 16 inches of depth for a coffee maker and the unit was 17.5 inches. So it was unfortunate we returned. But overall the machine working great, she loved the coffee bids to quickly replace beans, the water unit that slides out from the side vs the top. The interface for making coffee and the simple cleaning of the milk hose. Had the size been a bit shorter, we would have gotten the K7 or 8. Good machine and was at a great price.
5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT! SO EASY!
The media could not be loaded. We previously bought a Breville barista touch and liked it. However, I was looking for something more automatic. This fits the bill! So easy and effortless! This one is much more quiet than the Breville also! 100% recommend!
1.0 out of 5 stars Impossible to get the water filters because they are always out of stock even from Kitchenaid.
After months of waiting for the water filters to become available from kitchen aid I finally was able to order two. They charged me for two but I only received one. I explained this on their website with no response. I called and they told me I would receive the other filter the next day...I NEVER RECEIVED IT! It is difficult to get in touch with them and I have spent so much time to either get a filter or a credit for what I did not get. I used to love this machine but now I hate it for fear when I need a vital part I will never get it or they will charge me and send me nothing.
