5.0 out of 5 stars I forgot what real Espresso tasted like!
As a former Nespresso user, I got tired of spending so much money on pods, so I decided to switch back to making coffee myself. This machine is solidly built, with most of its major parts made of metal. I went for the stainless steel version, and it honestly looks like a much pricier piece of equipment.Using the machine is pretty straightforward. You just grind the coffee, load it into the machine, and you're basically set. You can fine-tune it for the size of the grounds and how much you want to fill the portafilter. It also comes with three extra filter baskets and a cup for steaming milk. The filter baskets fit neatly in a hidden drawer behind the tray at the bottom. The machine also has wheels, so it's easy to move around. It's big enough to be noticeable but not like you'd run a coffee shop with it. The only downside is that you can't adjust the temperature of the milk steamer for non-dairy milk. I bought a Nespresso Aeroccino3 Milk Frother for about $60 as a workaround. There are cheaper alternatives, but you can also upgrade the machine, though that costs a lot more. The upgrade includes a plant-based milk container and a digital touch screen, but I think it ruins the look of the machine.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy and professional espresso maker
The media could not be loaded. Kitchenaid outdid themselves with this machine! It is very simple to use even for beginners. It has a consistent pour as well as grinder that you can adjust depending on strength you like. Worth every dime! It performs perfectly!
1.0 out of 5 stars Beyond disappointed
Im a kitchenaid fan. I use my standing mixer all the time and have all sorts of attachments for it. I’ve also used several espresso machines. This one was not intuitive, the instructions were trash, and their were limited to no customer video walk through online. I followed the instructions to purge water through the system in the manual and then by following the video online because the manual instructions were awful. After I did that, I tried to run the machine, it then ran two super weak shots where the water was barely room temp even after adjusting the temp setting from the middle to the top setting. I looked up troubleshooting and nothing helped. In frustration I pushed the purge button which is front and center as I was pushing buttons to try to figure out why it wasn’t working. When I pushed the purge button it wouldn’t turn off. I even hard restarted it several times. I contacted kitchenaid customer support and they told me to do what I had already done. Also, did I mention It was also leaking!!!! After the first use, I didn’t try again until the morning and it had leaked. The water container was on correctly. Super disappointing. I was really excited for this. Oh well returned it and got a breville which worked perfect right out of the box. Take notes kitchenaid!
4.0 out of 5 stars Great machine that requires patience
I've been making my own espresso for 4 years now. This was an upgrade from my Gevi. What I am impressed with is the steam power! I haven constantly formed my milk 100% of the time. The grinder and machine as a whole is super quite, and the grinder produces supper fluffy grindsThings I dislike: the green color is barely noticeable. I can't seem to quote get the pressure up to the 9-11 ranged it makes it just below recommended pressure. The grinder doesn't seem to change the the amount of it being coarse or fine. It seems like ot stays the same. I just schedules an online meeting m, and I hope they can fox it. Great machine for beginners, and I recommend 100%
5.0 out of 5 stars Yes you will have to fiddle a bit to get the best results
Before purchase many said you'd have to fiddle with the settings to get the best result. True. Took me about 8 expresso pulls to get close to where it needs to be. I do a double shot mocha each morning. In order to get the grind size small enough (to achieve the desired pressure on the gage) I had to max out the fine/course slider on fine AND do the additional adjustment described in the manual to get even finer. It's not hard to do the additional adjustment to the burr grinder just sort of annoying there isn't more headroom on the slider to the fine side to start.I have the commercial Kitchenaid range, dishwasher, pro 600 mixer, and some other stuff from them. This machine follows along their philosophy of a solidly built machine bordering on professional quality. Only had it a week so no long term review but pleased so far and at $800 it's a lot cheaper than the truly pro stuff.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!
Get this puppy dialed in and you will never go back to percolated coffee unless there's nothing else available.
5.0 out of 5 stars KITCHEN AID ESPRESSO MACHINE
The media could not be loaded. I appreciate a strong espresso in the morning. So far everything is working. I’ve only made a couple of items from the recipe book. The bean grinder is quiet and so far everything is working. I’m new to espresso machines so maybe I should have done this review a year from now. But presently, I’m happy. The set up and unboxing were simple and painless. All items were accounted for in immaculate condition.
3.0 out of 5 stars Amazing machine but defective
This machine looks amazing and is really simple to use. Problem with mine is that the pressure gauge was inoperable and Kitchen Aide tried to troubleshoot it but said it was likely defective and to return it. Bummer that a $600 machine arrived with problems but the coffee it made for the couple days O had it was amazing. Will likely try it out again as I loved everything about it.
Works excellent so far!
The media could not be loaded. Taste of real coffee, espresso range depending on grinding coffee beans.
