5.0 out of 5 stars Nice educational blocks
My son is learning alphabet and Words now. It’s a great toy block for him to lean while playing. Easy and fun to play.
4.0 out of 5 stars Not the best for U.S.
Some of the pictures did not necessarly match the word we would use in U.S., and the font is not what we would teach for certain letters like a, t, q, etc. It was confusing for some students in my PreK classroom so I tried to make some adjustments to the blocks and made my own cards. Look closely at all the cards and blocks before giving to your child!
5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting
These are smaller than I thought they would be, but very functional. The box calls the game "Spell the Word Game" and the back of the cards say "Learn English". The pictures show 4 kids playing a game (probably who can spell it first) with the 4 block sets. The cards show each letter in a different color (matching the block sets) so there are a few ways to play. Each block set has at least every letter in the alphabet once. How ever some common letters are on the same block which would require you to need to use 2 sets to spell some words (s and t are on the same one) if you were using other lists. The card pictures are decent. Most are distinguishable. Some just look weird, but fit their word. There are a few that could have used a better picture (pinecone for pine, ham leg for meat, cupcake for cake) as they do not match the word that initially comes to mind.I found three that are absolutely not correct (at least for English spoken in the USA). A house door (with a peephole and everything) for gate. A microwave oven for oven. Something that looks an awfully lot like a Tequila Sunrise for juice.
3.0 out of 5 stars Nice Spelling Game
I think this is good for preschoolers and is a nice interactive game. The set comes with wooden blocks and cards. The cards are a bit sturdy and look nice, they are shiny and look nice, ad the blocks are made of 4 colors and look nice as well, the print on the other hand is not the best, and looks confusing for little ones. It's fairly easy to play this game, however, certain cards are just off with the content/pictures. Some cards would probably be best if left off, and not confuse the little ones. I am not sure how a building is spelled as pub, and how the door is represented with the word gate!
5.0 out of 5 stars Neat little set!
This is a really neat little set that comes conveniently packed away in a tin box so you can easily grab it and go places with it. Or simply keep it in your purse for those times when you need to entertain your kids a bit, like at a restaurant! It seems to be well made; the pieces are all smooth and painted nicely. The cards are a good size and words are easy to see and read. A great tool to keep on hand for your kids when the time comes that you may need to entertain them quietly for a while! Also works well for a homeschool family, teachers/classrooms, or any parent who wants to work at home with their children on reading and spelling words. It's packaged nicely as well so could make a great gift for a little one too. Would recommend this cute and handy set!
