5.0 out of 5 stars The most comfortable vertical mouse I've tried
I'm a frequent gamer and often use my computer for 12 hours at a stretch. Normal (flat) mice were beginning to make my hand and wrist very sore with the onset of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, so I began searching for a vertical mouse about 4 years ago. Other ergonomic designs are fine on the wrist, but then leave the finger buttons straight, which puts stress on the middle joints. The Delux mouse has a great fitting vertical position to keep the wrist relaxed, and also has mouse buttons that curve around the front, almost to a trigger position. Another advantage is that when I squeeze the mouse buttons in a trigger position the back pressure comes from the base of the thumb. Other vertical mice with straight buttons force the tip of the thumb to support the clicking action, which tires out the hand. Also, mouse movement is very easy with the DPS adjustment. I actually use it with the side of my hand on the desktop and use my fingers to glide curser movement on the screen. It was a very easy adjustment from a standard (flat) mouse.I'd recommend this mouse to anybody. I bought my first one about 3 years ago and have been using it full time since then. I just bought a second one to have as a spare. The first one HAS to wear out eventually, even though there's no sign of failure yet.Update time for this mouse: I'm still gaming, and the old mouse finally gave up the ghost in the scroll wheel. The wheel just slipped without engaging. Fortunately, I had my spare ready to rock. While I was in mouse-changing mode, I got out my old collection of expensive mice just to see how they felt. Traditional flat mice made my wrist hurt immediately! The other two ergo mice with straight finger pads made my finger joints sore after only one day, and I also noticed that with those straight fingers clicking to the side, there was a tendency to make the curser drift off position when I clicked. Pinching back with my thumb every click in order to steady the curser was very annoying. I find it amazing how much difference it makes for this mouse to have the fingertips wrap around the front of the mouse. 5 stars!Anyway, it didn't take long on the "old mouse" experiment before I hooked up the new replacement (back in 2019). It's now September 2023, and the replacement finally failed. Exactly as the first one. Mouse Wheel slips. I consider my use on a mouse as pretty hard, and 2 of these have lasted me 7 years, so in my book it's still a solid 5 star rating. There are only a few things about this mouse that I would change, and first would be the height. It might be because I don't use the palm rest, so my hand fits lower. But this thing seems like it's a good inch too tall. I even had to do some customizing on my mouse covey for it to fit. Also, in my comfortable holding position, my fingers rest along the bottom edge of the buttons, so they could be adjusted downward slightly. And lastly is the thumb position. This may be purely me, but my thumb doesn't ride in the intended slot at all. I rest my thumb-tip behind the grip/textured/ribs and just in front of the back seam. So, the adjustment could be to simply extend the texture ribs around the back of the mouse.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use and less hand stress than regular mouse
So far I'm very pleased with the comfort level of the vertical mouse and reduced stress on my hand and wrist. Some write-ups said that they take a while to get used to but the operation and basic buttons were actually quite easy to adapt to and use. There are other function keys on the mouse, like scrolling, which I haven't really used much yet but I view them as bonus functionality for when/if I want them. My old regular mouse would definitely irritate my hand/wrist at times (I'm not young) and this one has been better so far. If you're experiencing discomfort with your traditional mouse, I'd recommend giving this one a try.
4.0 out of 5 stars A couple of issues but interesting
- Made in China- Wrist rest is hard plastic. DetachableCan one have carpal tunnel of the thumb? I think I have that heh. I thought I might try one that allows a different position. That's something I'll have to report back on since it'll take some time to get used to it and see what happens, but here's my initial eval.DPI button is, to me, a gimmick. I've never in 20 yrs had any reason to wish to reduce the capability of any equipment I use.The "programmable" claim is apparently based off the fact you can change between the 2 sensitivity modes. There's nothing else programmable on this, and no instructions to indicate it.Left side up and down buttons are forward and back. Works reliably and is positioned very well for comfortable use.Right side buttons are the usual left and right click. Scroll wheel between them. While they've put deep ridges in the sides, it's still hard, slick plastic. I don't know if it's common or not, but I pick up and reposition my mouse all the time. There's no way to do that with this without clicking something somewhere. It'll take some getting used to, of course, but so far I like it other than the reposition issue and I assume I'll figure something out on that.Don't forget to use the Smile.Bolo.com address - It's an Bolo program where many everyday things you buy will generate a small donation from Bolo to the charity of your choice at no cost to you. 3.0 out of 5 stars One major drawback with this mouse...
This mouse does what it was designed to do...relieve wrist pain. It's more comfortable to use than a regular mouse once you get used to it, but now I'm noticing some pain below my elbow so I may just be exchanging carpal tunnel for tennis elbow. But I could be experiencing the transfer of pain from gripping the mouse too tightly, which I tend to do to keep my hand from moving on the mouse because of the horrible position of the backward and forward buttons. The backward button lays right below your thumb; the forward button at the top. My hand tends to slide downward because of the slight curve outward of the mouse, and if you move your thumb at all, you hit the back button and away you go. I have lost so much work from sliding into the darn thing that I'm ready to throw this mouse into the trash. The manufacturer really needs to consider moving the backward button further away from the area of the thumb; making it smaller wouldn't hurt either. I don't know how critical this feature is for other users; for what I do it isn't critical at all and I certainly don't need it so close that I hit it accidentally any time my thumb slides out of position. I don't have large hands. For anyone who does, this mouse might be even more of a challenge. For the above stated reasons, I'm only giving it 3 stars.
5.0 out of 5 stars Saved my hand from pain
Excellent mouse. It saved my hand. This is my second one just because I can't be bothered to travel with it so I got another one for my "second home". I will be returning this one though because my sister got me one already but it works great
5.0 out of 5 stars Quiet clicker
Traded out my other ergonomic mouse for this one because it's much quieter in the cube farm.
comfortable, and easy to transition to.
First time trying something other than a standard mouse. I have only been using it for about a week and I am very pleased with it so far. I have been having wrist pain from an old injury, and just shifting my hand position to use this mouse has been a game changer. It also took me no time to get use to using it. It is quite comfortable for my small hands.
Excelente
