5.0 out of 5 stars Great TV and review from a previous fan of Samsung
I've had this TV for less than a week, so if anything goes awry, I'll update this review. So far, first impressions are above expectations. Until now, I've only purchased Samsung smart TVs (but my last, owned for < 2 yrs, died).A lot of user complaints concern the remote control; it's a lot like using the Wii remotes (if you remember those), but you do NOT have to use that functionality. The remote has a scroll wheel, that if used, turns on the cursor that you control with a wave of the 'magic' remote. I have found that using the remote in this way is at LEAST 10x faster than using the arrows to navigate menus, search, or enter login credentials. There is a learning curve, sure, but this feature has to be the future. For the TV, it can be set to automatically adjust the picture settings based on the input, which I love. If I flip on the game, it adjusts, if I switch to a video game, it adjusts, if I watch a movie, it adjusts. Just brilliant.I've never really used the built-in speakers from these flat panel televisions, but I tried it before connecting my JBL 5.1 system and I have to say that I am impressed. The native sound from the panel's speakers is very, very good. I think there's an option to use both my sound system AND the TV's internal speakers, which I haven't yet tested. I'm hoping it provides a really robust sound. The on screen menus are intuitive and easy to navigate. The built in LG channels are a little awkward, but I'm getting used to it.The picture is what you should expect from a 4k OLED, beautiful, regardless of the viewing angle. The blacks are deep and inky (should be, since OLEDs turn off instead of gray out).TL;DR: This TV justifies the expense and is a great experience for movie-watching, playing video games, enjoying your favorite Sunday matchups and watching shows. My previous TV was the Samsung s90b. The LG C4 is better.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great deal, quality
This is a sweet spot of a TV. Don't get too caught up in the minutia of in-depth reviews on other sites that focus more on the most cutting edge technology. The picture, sound, everything is great. I am very much married to the LG brand, and this model did not disappoint. Amazing color, contrast, and brightness.Everyone will say these TVs really need a soundbar, and I'm sure that it's ideal, but it's plenty fine to me without one. Honestly, my only regret is that I did not get the 65-in version.
5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible gaming TV/Monitor
I bought the 42 inch C4 to use as a PC gaming monitor and I'm more than satisfied. This TV has deep dark blacks, vivid colors and smooth motion for gaming. Don't be afraid to get OLED as this TV has safeguards built in to prevent screen burn in. The brightness is more than sufficient and much brighter than my LG 65 C1.
5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC
WoW!!!!!!!!! is this tv nice. has alot to offer too. The picture is absolutely amazing, crisp bright clear, the sound is great as well, a bit difficult to set up with all the features, but its fun. gets internet real fast. its great.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent TV - OLED is worth the premium
I was debating between OLED and Mini-led and the picture on this LG OLED TV is amazing. Picture clarity is exceptional and makes watching HDR content really worth it. Highly recommend. It’s also nice that the OLED tvs are lighter and easier to lift onto the mount. Also make sure to do the firmware update before you do all the setup/agreements acceptance.
1.0 out of 5 stars Magic Remote is horrible and NO Tech Support
This TV comes with the WORST remote control I have ever seen. In addition...LG doesn't have Tech Support. Customer Service handles that. Agents don't have a clue. They put you on hold to search for the problem. Then they come back with CLUELESS answers. If the TV was not that big and heavy...I would have returned it. The picture is ok. It is just the overall experience that is nothing short of awful. I spent 2 hours entering my username and password because of the crazy/all over the place pointer of the so-called Magic Remote Control. You can't even temporarily disable it by clicking the buttons they suggest...in a couple of seconds it's back jumping all over the place. And you can't permanently disable that crazy pointer. At the very least they should give us the option to turn it off PERMANENTLY. So I'm buying a universal remote control.
4.0 out of 5 stars Right Product at the Right Price!
Love the size, picture/color, and sound. Nice having 4 HDMI ports, and actually use them all. The instructions for the stand leave something to be desired, but did manage to successfuly attach it to the screen. The stand has a relativly small footprint for the size of the display, which means the TV will fit on most tables/cabinets without too much difficulty. My biggest issue with this product is that the MAC address is not provided. The only way to determine the MAC address is actually connect the TV to the Internet. Unfortunately, if your network, like mine, requires the MAC address of the device to be entered before you can connect, you can find yourself in a catch 22 situation. If you have the technical skills, you can setup a mobile hot spot on your computer (or other device) and share your internet connection with the TV and then you will be able to see the MAC address of the TV and enter it into your network. The other issue is the rude support I received from the LG representative when I inquired as to how to locate the MAC address. He did not understand the requirements of our network, nor did he understand why users get frustrated when the MAC address cannot be readily made available to owners. He just kept insisting I did not understand the situation. Overall, I am happy with my purchase, it was delivered promptly and in good condition, and the seller was very helpful throughout the process. I would have given 4.5 stars if I could.
5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible but with one nit
This is my second LG OLED. The first was a the B3 (I think). This one is brighter and truly an amazing TV. Hands down the best that Ive owned. The OS is pretty solid once you figure out how to customize it and the built in Alexa feature rocks. I paired with a matching LG soundboard sound system and the audio is insane. Now to the one problem that I have with both LG TV’s. LG if you are listening can you PLEASE provide a solution to hide the pointer. It’s the most ridiculous feature and I truly wonder if if anyone actually uses it.
