5.0 out of 5 stars More of the wonderfully same
I can't get enough of this guy...well, the whole cast and crew get credit, I suppose. I think my nomination for 'best of' from this season has to be the Up All Night episode where Monk encounters Trudy's eyes. What a beautiful grabber. But here's the thing...I had to struggle to give all five stars because of that inane theme song. I get so tired of having to hit the fast-forward button. The producers (like Rick and Brannon on Enterprise) failed to realize that a 'cute' or 'nice' song might be acceptable when heard once a week on live television, but it's a mood killer for those of us who live in DVD Land. To have to listen to the same dumb lyrics over and over and over again as the shows cue up just becomes annoying. I didn't buy the DVD set because I want to listen to Randy Newman (or Dianne Warren) music...Sorry. Nothing to be done about it now. The show is still worth watching and there's always that fast-forward button.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great dvd
The wife loves Monk. Had to buy season 6 because the complete set we bought was missing season 6 when we received it.
5.0 out of 5 stars One of the great characters.
One of the NOW classic shows that should be remembered into the ages to come. I love most of the episodes that were made and the other one or two should not be given any negative points. That is because they were made well but it wasn't the type of show for me (subject matter). This show deserves 10 stars. I hope that Tony S will be able to make another character in the future that will hit the heart of the viewer just as much as this one did.I loved all the other characters in the show too. They should be getting credit for their parts. I feel that the show is a sum of all its parts which make the whole what it is.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best. Show. Ever!
One would think by the sixth season, the show would start to lose it's appeal, but not so with Monk. This show just keeps getting better and better. Each episode is great, but one of my favorites is when Monk has to prove to the Captain that his girlfriend is not the woman he believes she is, and as a result, they are on the outs for most of the episode, until she accuses Monk of making a pass at her which the Captain knows is completely out of character and impossible to believe. As with all the other seasons, this is a must purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good detective mystery, but with an unusual comedy side.
Monk is a dective mystery, with an unusual twist of comedy. Most of us have some obsessive quirks, often times without even knowing it. Monk's are extreme to put it mildly. His days consist of trying to make everything balanced and perfect and all the while he has a keen sense of remembering everything and, in short order, noticing the clues in each murder case that most people miss. His detective skills are uncanny. Each episode is a story all its own. It doesn't leave you hanging from one episode to the next. Tony Shalhoub is the perfect actor for this part. Funny, smart and with a very sweet human side too, especially when he struggles with the loss of his wife. This is a "whodoneit" that won't give you nightmares. Enjoy!!
5.0 out of 5 stars A great series! The only (irritating) flaw is they changed
A great series! The only (irritating) flaw is they changed, what was the perfect theme music for Monk, to that horrible Randy Neuman song!! Its a real pain to fast forward past it.At the end of the episode Mr Monk and the TV Star Marci Maven asked Adrian Monk to promise if he ever gets his own TV show, he won't change the theme song. When Monk promises the original theme song, which best fit Monk starts to play and then fades to credits. Seems changing the theme song wasn't a unanimous decision!
5.0 out of 5 stars Season Six is fresh
We became irregular watchers of Monk after season five--it seemed that every story line was too predictable (or the fact that he would solve the case in a bizarre, unpredictable fashion became predictable!). But, since we owned the first five seasons, and I wanted to know how the show ended without skipping to season eight, I started purchasing the other seasons--and we have been delightfully surprised. I don't know if it is because we had been away for so long, or because the story lines really are fresher, but we have really enjoyed picking up where we left off. There have been many new developments in Monk's character, and the others on the show. We are enjoying it all over again, and savoring every episode.
4.0 out of 5 stars Sixth season of Monk is hilarious
Monk - Season Six As a rather new recruit to Monk...my sister had been trying to get me to watch the show for years, but I was just to busy. A recent illness gave me the time. And after the first few episodes I was just hooked. I ordered all of the episodes from every season...so now I can watch them in order......and the 6th season is the best season so far. The Actors all seem to have fleshed out their characters to the point that "I" as the audience tend to forget I am watching a crew of actors carrying out a very complicated and enormously intricate script. This is probably the best acted and written show on television today.
Déception
La série est passionnante. mais la déception est grande quand le produit est dans une langue étrangère sans qu'à l'origine (de mon achat) l'annonce le précise.
More Monk Madness
A great watch, no bad language, no gratuitous violence just great entertainment.
A bit of Detective Mystery with humour thrown in!
Bought whole series for my step-daughter and of course we had to watch this is such a fun series. A little detective with comedy. A Favourite in our house. Sorry this is the end of the series or I would buy more!

its entertaining - sad/ happy / win lose -its all there. GOOD stuff
MONK season 6
Season 6 shows that the writing team are getting tired. This season has not been great, although I cannot fault the acting of Tony Shalhoub. He is still as dedicated as ever to the role of Adrian Monk. His portrayal continues to make us laugh, wince and cry.Snoop Dogg pops up in this season and I had hoped he'd play himself as did Willie Nelson in the first season, just so Monk could tell people he'd been on stage with Snoop too but Snoop Dogg plays another character in a story that is similar to that of a real killing cases of rappers. Monk trying to be a 'Home Boy' is hilarious and had me clutching my stomach in pain !!!!The friendship between Monk and Capt Stottlemeyer is tested in episode 4 but forgotten about in episode 5. I had hoped that the tension would have continued through, so we could explore these 2 characters deeper. The end of the episode where Monk is hugged by a nudist is brilliant. The best ending to any TV show, ever.I will get the rest of the MONK seasons just to see if Monk finally catches the killer of his beloved Trudy, but hope the writing gets better.Disher is becoming a joke now constantly and its becoming boring.
