5.0 out of 5 stars Really nice
Typically in tripods you get what you pay for... but this is a great tripod. Everyone has a different opinion but I like the lever release for the legs. You can fold it quick, set it up in almost any position. It is solid, and yet somewhat light. If I had 1 complaint.... the tripod fits perfectly in the bag, but since the tripod doesn't include a head, once you add one it no longer fits into the bag. I wish they would give you a slightly too large bag so that it would still work with a head on it.
4.0 out of 5 stars It's budget enough to work as an alternative but it's too light weight
This is definitely one of those tripods that you might get as a backup, or maybe leave in the trunk of your car to have with you for when you need a leg up to stabilizing your camera. One of its legs can also be removed to act as a standalone monopod (no pun intended). Now this is simply speaking from a DSLR user's perspective. This a perfectly acceptable tripod for a phone if that's what you're going for. I feel that the mid-sections are a bit wobbly, even when fully tightened. I had this as a secondary to support a motorized slider and was a bit disappointed. But for general use, it's lightweight and easy to set up.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to carry and store.
The JOILCAN 74" Camera Tripods is easy to carry and set-up. Its strength is its portability.I generally do not put high value items on inexpensive tripods. It makes no sense to risk a $400 camera on a $30 tripod. For momentary setup on the trail, it does make sense. I just make sure that the clips are locked before stepping away from it.
1.0 out of 5 stars Not a good product for me
I used this at a rocket launch with a Canon R5 and a 500mm L Series lens. I didn’t realize that it lacked a tilt function, at least my version of not all of them as I don’t know since the product picture shows it should. So this would only be used for portraits or other immobile subjects. It was also shaky. The legs did lock tight for the little that I used it. My advice is to pay double the price and get a quality tripod.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality tripod!
This is a great quality tripod for photographers! It's made up of a very sturdy feeling metal, and feels very solid when set up. It gets very tall (74"), but also folds up to be very small. One of the legs can be removed to make a monopod, which I did not expect but is a welcome feature. The only thing that kind of turned me off from this tripod is that it doesn't come with the proper head. It just comes with a solid tripod threading at the top. This means you'll have to buy your own tripod head if you want to get any angle adjustment. I guess it's acceptable for the price, it's just a little disappointing. Other than that, this is a good tripod for the money. Recommend!
4.0 out of 5 stars Good things come in small packages
This is a great little tripod.Pros:Everything you need in one tripodNice carry bagSet-up is quick and easyGoes from short to tall in just a minuteTransforms into a monopodCons:Not enough support for a larger video cameraConclusion:Great for shooting stills or video with a small camera. If that's what your doing it's a good addition for your kit.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nicely Built Tripod
Keep in mind this DOES NOT come with a head. I used a ball head I had laying around and it works well. The tripod is built nicely for the price and doesn't feel like it will break on me. The latches are firm and don't have any give or play in them.
5.0 out of 5 stars Quite versatile and works great for holding a phone and Sony mirrorless camera
I ordered this to replace a 20 year old tripod that had one of the leg locks snapped off -- this one works great and is quite verstile in how it can operate. The detachable rubber feet are a nice addition, as well as the ability to remove one of the legs to make it a monopod (not sure I'll ever use that feature though!). It also comes with a carrying case, and the counter weight hook is also nice to have if you're in a windy area or at a slight angle and the camera otherwise may be too heavy to hold itself in place.
