5.0 out of 5 stars Worth Every Penny
Bought this specifically for the piano sounds. 10/10 From someone that has always played on cheap midi keyboards, the piano sounds are fantastic, the keys feel great, the speakers are loud and clear. Fortunately I didn't buy the keyboard to have midi out or midi in so keep that in mind if you are looking to a wired midi connection. It does have bluetooth for midi, but I haven't used it.
4.0 out of 5 stars A big upgrade from GO:KEYS 1 - good beginner keyboard
I'm not really a pianist/keyboardist but I also own the GO:KEYS 1 so that is my reference, and I can say that it is a very big upgrade. From sound quality and selection, to control and navigation. I originally bought the old version as my first keys and midi controller, but my kids claimed ownership like the China claiming west Philippines sea. I have no big brother like uncle Sam so I was obliged to buy a new one and I have no regret with the exception of buying GO:KEYS 5 instead. I occasionally do live gigs so the 1/4 jack connection in GO:KEYS 5 is useful. Also, you can purchase "wave" sounds for GO:KEYS 5 from Roland cloud. You can only buy presets and "songs" for GO:KEYS 3.Lastly, the built quality is just 4/5. I can't explain it, but it somehow feels plasticky, especially when I hold it from the side - it feels like the cover will rip apart if you're not careful. GO:KEYS 1 feels more sturdy
3.0 out of 5 stars Low end Roland .. almost tinny piano sound shound
This takes advantage of the Zen core processor and if you want a light 61 key keyboard this does produces some respectable synthesizer sounds, however the piano is the most important to me and the zen core piano make me not want to play this. It doesn't have the PHA key action which is fine for a low end light keyboard, however Roland should have added a quality piano which starts with the supernatural sound sound engine if only a few quality piano samples but this doesn't have it. Sometimes the piano bass and high notes are ok but not for me. It gobbles up batteries I'd expect 1-2 hours if you're lucky .. but it is portable so carrying a bunch of rechargeable batteries might make sense. It does have very powerful effects probably ported from their other keyboards and likely the software too, and I believe it even supports 1/2 pedaling with the DP10 pedal. You can watch the demos to see how powerful it is and if you're mainly synth and not piano this would be a good starter workstation.
5.0 out of 5 stars I love my GO:KEYS 3
I love my turquoise Roland GO:KEYS 3. The built-in speakers are loud enough for my bedroom, but would need amplification for anything larger. I'm a beginner on learning the keyboard, and this should serve me well for the next several years. It is great value for the price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best Keyboard I ever purchased!
Simply the best in sound, quality and ease of use. I used this in my practice session and live church plays.
4.0 out of 5 stars Missing Part on Roland GoKeys 3
My Roland GoKeys 3, dark red, is missing one simple part, but an important part. My Roland GoKeys 3 does not have a music rest. Granted, none of the photos in the advertisement show a music rest, and it does not say it comes with a music rest. There is no place to put a smartphone or a tablet for the Roland Piano App. All keyboards and pianos are sold with a music rest, even the cheapest crappy ones. It is common sense. I have had many other brand name keyboards and pianos, but this is my first Roland keyboard. First impressions are important. I had to pay $350 for the keyboard and $35 extra for a music rest. So, I give the Roland GoKeys 3 only four stars out of five.
3.0 out of 5 stars Horrible key action.
Not for anybody that plays complex chords. Even 7ths are difficult if there are any black keys. The spring action on the keys is too stiff and if you have to play a note 2/3 thirds up the way to the top, it is much harder. After very much playing my fingertips got sore from having to press so hard. Lots of great sounds, but not easy to access without a lot of button pushing. Also not impressed with the styles. I missed the return window by one day, so I guess I am stuck with it.
3.0 out of 5 stars Small sound
Nice color and design. The keys are hard. I hope it can adjust to be softer (haven't read the manual)One of the disappointed thing is that the sound is too small even the highest volume...
Great sound!
This has so many great sounds. The accompaniments are really tight and up-to-date. Easy to record any song ideas that come to mind. The chord sequencer works great and the keys have a nice feel. My playing is improved on this thanks to the nice action of the keys. I love the Roland SoundCloud option!! Will be looking into a WC-1 adapter soon!
