5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Surprise!
I am enjoying this little machine! I was using French press again after my old Mr Coffee espresso machines went out. The first one eventually had the knob that turned it off and on seize. I could still operate it with pliers, but I was operating it with pliers. Second one eventually had the carafe break and about to move.Moved and moved again, ha, and now almost two years later I am looking for a similar machine because I missed the ease of use Mr Coffee gave me. I love espresso and making strong drinks as well as being able to measure my intake by the shot vs so many cups of regular coffee that always changed by bean anyway. With this machine I find the build quality to initially feel lighter/cheaper than Mr Coffee's old $60 variant, but over the last month of using it I'd say I find it to feel strong and secure where it matters. I don't feel the same resistance in the handle/switch on Day 1 like I did with both Mr Coffees. The carafe also feels a little bigger, but both this one and my old one measure up to 4 shots. I always fill it up higher, because it can, because I can. Maybe I ended my old machines early (they lasted about two years a piece). For readers looking for an espresso machine for the first time, this is better than:-French press because it feels like it's more efficient use of beans since they're finely ground and it really makes a coffee drink taste like an espresso coffee house drink. I feel like I get four good cups of coffee in a French press but four coffee drinks with this KEENSTAR.-Keurig because K-cups are really wasteful, and the refillable ones are kind of a pain. It's fast, but not the best cup of coffee. French press is usually a better cup and buying beans on sale for French press makes it cheaper, too.-Regular pot of coffee brew because the flavor is great. If you simply like a black cup of coffee, or coffee with milk and or sugar, get this and either Cafe Bustelo/Cafe La Llave at the store for it (or your own whole beans and grind them fine). No more filters! Just press the grounds into the hopper and when you empty it later it pops out like a hockey puck! Once you make the espresso, mix a shot with about 4-6 ounces of hot water, or 4 oz of cold water and ice for summer, to make a black coffee or iced coffee, AKA an Americano. You'll never want to go back to a brewed cup again. Replace the water with milk for a latte. Add chocolate sauce to make it a mocha--or mix a shot or two in with your favorite hot chocolate for a dirty mocha. This might not be the exact temp and such that a perfect shot makes according to high end coffee folks, but I will tell you that an Americano or iced soy latte made from Cafe Bustelo (my preference since it comes pre-ground fine for espresso machines and tastes good to me)... it tastes just as good as something from any coffee shop around selling the same things for $5 and $7. It costs me cents to make the same drink at home now.If only the drinks made themselves!
5.0 out of 5 stars Love the coffee maker
I have really enjoyed using this coffee maker. It was easy to set up by following the directions and easy to use to brew the coffee. I purchased the machine to make caramel macchiatos at home. It has definitely met that expectation. The only thing that is a draw back for me is I will sometimes forget to turn it off. If you don’t turn it off, it will continue to brew but it won’t have anything to brew because it will use all the water when you first make your coffee. It will just “try to”. I have a 10 month old and he wants all my attention so I think that issue wont be as bad in the coming months 🥱❤️.
5.0 out of 5 stars Convenient, cute, and cost efficient!
I absolutely LOVE this espresso machine! It is small enough not to take up too much space. It is simple and easy to use. I absolutely love the fact you can choose a few different colors. This turquoise color matches the colors in my kitchen/dining area. The dial on the side is to the point. I also enjoy the wand for steaming my oat milk! For the price, it can’t be beat. If you are looking for a fancy machine with all the bells and whistles, this isn’t it. However, this is the best machine for my situation. Great purchase!
4.0 out of 5 stars Wow!
I knew I’d love this machine as soon as I got it. It def has its quirks and it takes getting used to, but I’m addicted to my espresso/cappuccino in the morning now. It just tastes fantastic. It does get very hot to the touch and make sure you get all of the steam out before you turn the handle for the grounds… hot grounds went everywhere once. I also don’t like how it is hard to load the grounds bc of the drip nozzle… it won’t stand on its own so it is a bit of a balancing act to fill. Another thing I don’t love is the frother. It is very hard to clean once the lactaid whole milk (I’m lactose intolerant) dries on there and it is kind of a nightmare to scrub it off. I tried to wipe it down right away, but it is tough. I ended up buying the instapot frother which is fantastic. Also, the machine is quite messy. The espresso will spray out the sides a bit where the cup isn’t fully enclosing the drip cap. I do like how quickly everything gets done now that I have the routine down so it performs well and speedily. One of the best things about the machine is that the drink stays piping hot and fresh tasting for quite a bit of time. I don’t have to guzzle it down so now I can really taste the full flavors of the cafe bustelo (my all time fave). It is quite small and fits well at my coffee bar. I appreciate how it doesn’t make a lot of noise so it won’t wake up my sleeping husband. The machine doesn’t have a lot of weight to it so you have to use muscle to keep it still when performing functions. The dial feels a little cheap as well, but it functions. The actual weight/feel/look is affordable so it doesn’t look luxurious by any means. However, it has been used 1-2x daily for a couple of months and it is still at peak performance. If it happened to break down I would get another one bc of the good price. We’re saving up to get a more fancy machine eventually. This does the job well enough for now!Update— 7/29/24— the photos with the light on:The machine is still working great. I’ve upgraded the tamper bc the plastic one wasn’t cutting it (didn’t press the grounds enough alone and didn’t fit the aesthetic). I also got the wooden “tamping station” here and it has made all the difference in filling up the espresso. I love the Instant Pot frother if you need one! It is silly how much fun I have playing barista in the morning (it is the little things <3). I have minimal mess now that I’ve made these changes and I always look forward to my next hot cup of java!
5.0 out of 5 stars Aesthetically pleasing
This is really cute and works perfect! You do have to make sure your using medium course or else the filter doesn’t really filter properly it will leave the gunk at the bottom of your mug which is what we don’t want! I love it love it! make sure you read the instructions that is definitely a must.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works well, very nice quality product
It is exactly what you buy. An entry level espresso machine, but it makes great coffee! Make sure not to press down your grounds too hard. The dial on the right takes some getting used to but isn't bad. My favorite thing is the glass cup that is provided. It works well to fill up the water too! If you want a cost effective way to impress your family/friends and show that you're a true Italian, give it a try.
Quick, compact 4 cup espresso
This espresso machine makes the coffee within 3 minutes! It's very compact, so it looks good on the counter, and the steamer works great for capuccinos. Great value for money!
100% satisfied
I bought this machine and it is absolutely amazing. I was really unsure due to the price, but it’s great quality and I use it numerous times a day and haven’t had a problem with it! I highly recommend it, especially if you’re first user!
Save your money!!!
This machine is not worth it. I had issues from the beginning and dropped the ball on my return window. I can say after not even 20 uses it no longer heats water, drips out while it should be heating, before it has the time to heat the water your mug will be full of cold coffee. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!! Garbage product. Only provided 1 star cause 0 is not an option.
So convenient
I love the coffee maker. I’ve had it for a few months and it’s still working pretty well! I give it a 4 out of 5 stars, even though its tiny it’s great for small space kitchen.
Great buy
I love this little espresso machine so much, it looks super cute on the counter, and saves me so much money (used to buy iced lattes everyday)I wish I bought it sooner !
