5.0 out of 5 stars Jaw-droppingly excellent
This keyboard is a dream to use, and my only true regret about it is that I didn't get one sooner. This keyboard looks, feels, and sounds unreal so I'll go over a few more of my favorite points in detail.* The greywood switches are fantastic. The action is smooth and the actuation force is incredibly low. Having already come from an AP2 with linear red switches I bottomed them out assuming they'd feel the same, but I'm loving them being an even easier press than that. They sound fantastic when you bottom out on this board as well, it's hard to really appreciate from sample videos. They are indeed very easy to hotswap too as I've already accidentally popped them out while pulling keycaps - they're very easy to remove and set, and I look forward to trying other switch types in the future.* The key lighting is bright and comes through well on the default switches. The vertical lightbar is a beautiful little addition with a few colorful presets and pops out in a great way.* The software is very light and capable. It's very familiar-looking coming from using stuff like Obinskit for the Anne Pro 2, but it's a little rougher around the edges as you do modifications to your lighting and bindings on a low-resolution mockup of the board. It's hard to see what has been set when doing so, but it gets things done.* The keycaps themselves are beautiful and feel solid but my only con is that they have no shine-through at all. In a dark room you'll be pressed to see your keys and having the board backlight on actually only makes that harder. For this, I transplanted my AP2 alphanumeric keys with shine-through letters onto the F99 and it works like a charm. I like the rest of the board so much and it can be rectified easily so I won't even knock a star for it, but be aware of this if you're used to your other boards having more visible letters. Not having that certainly came as a surprise to me.After all, I heartily recommend the F99 for making it feel exciting again to have a keyboard hobby again!
5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous, great sounding, just buy it!
I got this keyboard as a much needed upgrade once my cheaper one kicked the bucket. I write professionally for a living and absolutely love using it. It has a very smooth, creamy sound to the keys with great response time. I usually use it as a wired hookup but the wireless works fine too. A great value that has the bells and whistles if you want them but otherwise, just a solid piece of tech. I do wish it took on new keycaps easier (the pair I tried were slightly too tall) but it's already pretty enough without them.
5.0 out of 5 stars Phenomenal Keyboard at a phenomenal price.
I was lucky enough to be in the market for a new keyboard while finding an unused Bolo gift card. After trying to find the owner for a while my boss told me I could keep it. This keyboard was also on sale . With that in mind, I paid about $45 for this keyboard. If you ever get a chance at that price I would buy two. As someone who is now a PC gamer after years of console and controller only games, I was in the market for a keyboard. I have tried many different inexpensive models of mechanical keyboards, with different switches. blue switches, red switches and brown. They all felt okay and were nice. But As I also use my keyboard for work and speak on the phone, those keyboards were a little too loud and felt a little too stiff for gaming. Enter the F99. First off, the keyboard has excellent weight which is good for a couple of reasons. While typing hundreds of emails a day for my job or while learning the ins and outs of mouse and keyboard gaming, it is very nice to have a weighted keyboard to keep things in place. The creamy gray switches that come on this thing are excellent. They don't necessarily feel lighter than other switches I have tried. However, they come pre-lubed and they are very well stabilized with makes each keypress feel smooth and weightless. The sound and vibration absorbing foam that is in the body also helps with how smooth the operation feels. The three connect modes also helps me massively when I work form home. I have my main gaming PC wire connected and when I work from home I simply connect my dock and monitors and then use the dongle. I purchased the Black/White/Baby Blue color way as it looks a little more professional when you do not have the RGB light modes on. While typing the keys have a nice delicate sound that gives off a nice sound without being loud and bothersome to those around you. You also have some adjustability in height/tilt. You can run it flat if you like or you have two heights of folding feet. The RGB light is excellent and very easy to adjust. I have not played with software and am not sure if this is something you can adjust with software. However, I feel like most people will find a mode that they really like. Overall, even though I got this at a low price, I thin the retail price is actually worth it. If you have never tried a creamy style switch and do not want to spend over $100 or even more, give this a shot.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great keyboard
This keyboard is excellent for the price. I am by no means an expert in mechanical keyboards, but I have been using them for a while. As other reviews have mentioned, this keyboard really nails the "thock" sought out by many buyers. The travel is smooth, keys have similar travel to each other and the switches are definitely lubed. Bottoming out the keys feels nice as the sound isn't scratchy or otherwise unbearable when compared to some other keyboards. The keycaps also appear to be constructed of a high quality material. I can't attest to the longevity, but they feel high-quality. Only "complaint" is that they don't let the RGB through the lettering which would be cool and is seen on higher-end boards.I haven't tried the software and have been sticking to wired connectivity only, but I'm sure the wireless 2.4GHz and BT modes work fine. I tend to use wired due to the decreased latency.Pick up this board if you're considering it! For less than one hundred dollars it's a good deal. Good keyboard hunters can likely find a better deal from a smaller MKB manufacturer, but this one fits the bill for me.
