5.0 out of 5 stars Flexible, lightweight with sturdy connections
I ordered this Micro-HDMI to HDMI cable for use with a Raspberry Pi 5, so I cannot comment about its 8K capabilities. I can say it works flawlessly on the Pi-5 at 4K when connected to a variety of monitors and large screen televisions.I’ve learned that it does not pay to buy cheap cables, especially Micro-HDMI cables, where, due to the small size, the quality of the connectors really matters. There is nothing worse than unplugging an HDMI cable and having the connector come off, which is what happened with my old cable, hence the need for a replacement. This time I wasn’t going to take any chances, even though the Pi can’t output 8K, I figured it best to get a high-quality cable, hoping it is constructed to a higher standard, which seems to apply to this cable, as it appears to well made, with large, sturdy, over-molded jackets around the plugs which are bonded to a thin (approximately 5mm diameter) cable covered with a woven nylon braid. I like that this is not a fat cable, the size works well, the cable is lightweight and not too stiff, which helps reduce strain on the connections, which is especially important with Micro-HDMI devices. There are no doubt less expensive options out there, however, you often get what you pay for. In my case this cable checks all the boxes, lightweight and flexible, with high-quality connections and shielded conductors. To me it is well worth the slight cost premium over lesser cables.
5.0 out of 5 stars works on raspberry Pi 4
Was having trouble with an older micro-hdmi to hdmi adapter to connect to an lcd panel. My original setup would flicker and display only half the screen for a raspberry pi running a HomeAssistant kiosk. This one uses a 4.5mm braided no-snag cable with a small velcro ferrule to wrap the cable together for storage. The micro html connector with strain relief (10mm) takes up 35mm at the ends and is the thickness of a quality shielded usb-C connector (9mm); this is the same length as your standard hdmi end connector but you can bend it at the 25 mm mark. If you don't have a lot of space the thinner cable and bendy connector will make your life easier.
4.0 out of 5 stars good uHDMI -> HDMI cable
I don't have any 8k display to test with, or any 120Hz displays, but this cable works very well to push 4k@60Hz. I haven't been able to determine any issues with the cable. The ends fit firmly without excessive force and don't wiggle around in the ports. The cable is braided, so it has at least some resistence to bending, pets, and children. This is helpful as most of my RPis get moved quite a bit.
5.0 out of 5 stars So far so good
Using this cable in conjunction with video monitors and my R5C and Olympus OM1mkii. So far, I haven't had any issues with video playback and am very happy with the cable.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great, more flexible than my other HDMI cables
Full disclosure - I have only tested this with a 4K 75Hz monitor (what I have available), as well as a tiny WaveShare 7 inch 1280x960 display that I am using with an embedded development kit for an undisclosed board, as well as a Raspberry Pi 4B.This cable works great - no issues displaying the maximum resolution I could provide a source and sink for -- 4k @75Hz.I like that this cable has a braided nylon covering, and was more flexible than most of my other HDMI cables. It's not a super thick cable like some of my other ones as well. The molded ends look nice and sturdy, and provide ribbed portions for strain relief. The microHDMI end could use a bit more length to the strain relief, as that part doesn't look super effective at providing good strain relieff, but the full HDMI end has adequate strain relief ribbing. All in all, there's nothing wrong picking this cable up if you need a MicroHDMI to HDMI cable. Do bear in mind that it is only 1 meter in length, so if you need a longer or shorter one, you will need to look elsewhere.
5.0 out of 5 stars Better than an adapter
I have a few pi5s around and they use micro-hdmi. I've always just used adapters because I have extra hdmi cables around. The adapters usually have poor connection points and are prone to breaking. Using a purpose built cable is much more secure and reliable. I had no issues with this cable and I would recommend it to others.
5.0 out of 5 stars I use it to make my cell phone into an external monitor
I got this because I wanted to take my Canon camera and use it with my cell phone as an external monitor, and this works great. I do need other things to make it work. An additional phone holder, a video capture card, as well as an app. I got all of those things, and I got everything connected without a hitch. It’s the perfect length for me, there was no lag, and the video quality was flawless. I can use them with the TV as well if I need to, I doubt I will, but it’s a good thing to have. I only needed it for my external monitor so for me, it's perfect.
