5.0 out of 5 stars Wow--I cannot say enough good things about this affordable little TV!
This is my second 40" Vizio in six years (my only beef was the flimsy legs that eventually snapped and even after multiple mending toppled the screen over and cracked it, which was easily solved this time by buying an inexpensive yet sturdy universal stand that really elevates the look of the TV overall). And after the WORLD'S EASIEST setup, I am amazed that something technological was actually designed well and is easy to use. You pick your language, connect to your wi-fi, choose the "input" of your optional Apple or Roku or whatever, and you're done. Compared to the equivalent size competitor television with a ton of angry reviews about how annoying the set up was, I couldn't be happier. Talk about hassle free! And five years later, Vizio has greatly improved the lag on the old model that I used to just deal with (for the price, I could hardly complain), and the picture is even better, sharp and vivid. For this price point and size, I highly recommend! (Side note: this may just be specific to my mailing address, but Bolo sent this via USPS, which required going down to the post office to pick it up, not a big deal but just fyi).
5.0 out of 5 stars Great TV, great deal.
The Vizio TV is a treasure. I dropped my cable television package, kept only my internet, and use a streaming package and saved a lot on my money payments. The TV was the perfect size for the room I use it in. The picture is excellent as well as the sound. This is my second purchase and that should be testimony enough. The price is amazing as well.
4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Inexpensive TV
My old TV was a VIZIO. Outside of the on/off switch having a tendency to wear out (which was the reason why I needed a replacement now, the price of getting this fixed rivals the price of just getting a new TV), I really loved the picture. It was the smallest model plasma TV they ever made, but it didn't sell well, so I got it for a song. Found the best digital settings online and entered them. Despite being a 720p resolution, because black was true black and not some shade of blue or gray, it was a pleasure to watch.I went for this model as my replacement because of the name and price, and it was about time to get with the times, anyhow.I'm not disappointed in the picture (1080p, so it's a step up from what I was accustomed to), and I like not needing any extra streaming boxes to connect to it since it has all the big-name services already built in. It's lightweight and doesn't generate heat like my old TV did. I find the audio perfectly acceptable. But it falls shy of 5 stars because of some annoying defects. Screwing the feet on will be problematic for someone of my age. Where the screws go could have been little funnels to the holes. It's not, and I used a lot of bad language just trying to get past this part. After turning it on, it is supposed to easily guide you through the steps to set it up. Except I don't own one of those app-running phones, so I got hung up on the screen where it tells you to go to a particular webpage and enter a code. Good thing I had another device that served as a monitor, that's what I normally use my TV for! Why is there no simple way to do this, like using the remote? Here comes the worst part. The URL it gives you is incorrect. I needed to chat with tech support to get the location of the real one. Since the TV updates itself when you power it on, you'd think a little thing like this would be updated, too, given that you cannot continue with the setup until you pass this hurdle. After a start like this, the rest is a breeze. Channel-changing broadcast TV is a bit slow from click to actual change, but I can live with that.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value and Quality!
Very nice Vizio Smart TV, very easy to use , great color and sound, has all current features, WIFI connectivity and gaming capability etc.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect fit & great quality
This is probably the last TV we'll get to fit our early 2000s entertainment center - you can barely slide a piece of paper between it & the wood walls surrounding it! That was reason #1 for buying it. It's got a great picture, great sound (despite what other reviews say), and it works off Android, which is better than FireTV, imo. No lag while shutting it off, it pulls up streaming apps really fast, and there's a whole bunch of free stuff to watch through WatchFree.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great TV for the streaming in the den...
I ordered the VIZIO 40-inch Full HD 1080p Smart TV with DTS Virtual for a second TV to have in the den. I like to watch MLB baseball but hate to monopolize the main TV for hours at a time. This TV is an absolute bargain for -$150. The picture and clarity are very good, and the navigation of the menu is straight forward and intuitive. Great choice for a 40-inch second TV!

3.0 out of 5 stars Overall, good. But issues with Max App
This TV is pretty good especially considering the price. It’s incredibly lightweight and set up was a breeze. My only issue and reason for not giving it 5 stars is because for whatever reason, the Max app (formerly known as HBO/Max) will not work on it. It’s not the app itself as it works perfectly fine on all my other devices but no matter what I do, reset, unplug, update, etc., nothing works. The app will run for a few minutes then an error message pops up. This may not be a big concern to most but I personally use the Max app a lot for streaming. More so than any other service and it’s a major inconvenience that it doesn’t work on this specific TV. I’ve researched it on google and the issue came up in the search engine before I could finish typing it out. Proving it’s not a one off issue. Reddit users had suggestions but for me, nothing worked. Other than that, I think the TV is pretty good. I side note: I also have Prime, Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, TikTok and a few others with no problems. It’s only Max that gives the error.
