I was skeptical, but I have some silver jewelry that desperately needed cleaning. I recommend you also get some cleaning solution to go with this, water alone won't do the trick. I am happy to say that my silver jewelry has thar shine and sparkle back. For $18 and a $6 bottle of cleaning solution I am very happy with how easy this was to use and how clean it got everything.

I am giving it 4 out of 5 stars because the listing suggests that you can use just water. You can, but it doesn't do much besides shake loose some dirt. If I were to rate how clean my jewelry got using only water, I would give it 1 star.I purchased an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and put the tiniest amount in the water, and my jewelry looks excellent. It cleaned silver, stainless steel, and resin. With the cleaner and the vibration from the machine, I noticed an oily substance coming off the chains. I assume that was a mixture of lotion, sunscreen, and sweat. Afterward, I lightly went over the pieces with a toothbrush, and my jewelry was cleaner than it's been in a long while.The machine is a bit noisy. It's not super loud, but more of an annoying hum. My ears were grateful when the time was up. You can set it for 3, 5, or 10 minutes.The instructions could be better. They say to fill it with the appropriate amount of water, which isn't super helpful when you've never used one of these before. So I looked at pictures and saw it was filled to within a centimeter of the top of the metal. I quickly found that the level isn't vital so long as it covers your items and isn't so high that it overflows. The water on top vibrates quickly but barely rises.Overall, this works great. You will need some cleaner, so be prepared to purchase that.

I am surprised at how well this ultrasonic cleaner gets my jewelry clean. I don’t wear a lot of “fine” jewelry except my wedding rings, so my test was on those and on my department store earrings.My engagement ring has lots of nooks and crannies on the underside of the setting and I was never able to get it completely clean until I dropped into this cleaner. Not only is the band shiny, the part I could never get clean is debris and dirt free! My earrings are clean of hair products and the natural oils from face and hands, and I even put my older pair of eyeglasses in to see how this machine would handle the nosepieces that just get yuck after a while. Miraculously clean without me taking everything apart to scrape and scrub.I was so pleased that I dropped in a silver ring to see if this cleaner could really blow my mind - nope, but I wasn’t disappointed.This is a great little machine. I even left the lid off and watched it work - vibrations and tiny clouds of yucky dirt off my jewelry. I absolutely recommend this.
