5.0 out of 5 stars Great TV and well worth the money

    B.G. · January 6, 2025

Let's face it, TVs outlive technology and my 5 year old TV was fine but I wanted to upgrade. Like most folks, my income is good but not where I can drop thousands of dollars on a TV. I do enjoy watching movies and sports and I did a lot of research to get the biggest bang for my buck and this is it!Bottom line is this:Good price/value and on sale oftenEasy to set up... even for this technologically challenged reviewerFantastic sound and picture that is easily modify to fit what is being viewed. (No need for sound bars!)Great and simple bluetooth connectivityVery good viewing angle qualityVibrant colorsI suggest you use other reviews for technological details and detailed reviews. There is a lot of good information out there. At the end of the day, I am sure you will be more than satisfied with this TV.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent picture quality

    A. · December 19, 2024

So, I am coming from a 2019 LG C9 OLED TV. I bought this TV worrying that it will be a significant step down in quality. I was especially worried about the viewing angles.Yes, the picture quality does suffer somewhat at extreme angles. However, the overall picture quality is surprising. The colours look rich, the birghtness is more than adequate & the TV feels well-built. My family isn't complaining...and they haven't even heard the price yet! What really surprise me was the sound quality which is really really good. There's a reasonable amount of Bass, more than you'd expect from a flatscreen TV. treble is a bit low but probably can be adjusted in the settings.Make sure you setup the Picture settings using Filmmaker mode as a reference otherwise it may look too colorful and artificial.Folks, this is no OLED, but for the price, I am shocked at what it can deliver. The remote is better looking compared to brands twice the price. The user interface is a bit cluttered but loads fast and works well once you know how to navigate it.The initial setup takes a while bcos of all the Google tv blah blah, but in the end it’s only a onetime setup.

Upscalling is horrible. Picture is grainy on some OTA signals.Picture seems flat compared to other brands. Interface is clunky and confusing.Funny thing is my son has a Hisense two years old, and his picture seems clear andshows good depth and image quality. His TV was half the price of my Hisense U8 Series 65U8N.If the TV was $400, I would probably keep it. Howver, it is being returned. One more thing. I have owned many TV's in the past. Hisense leaves me with a bad feeling onquality and reliability. Hisense warranty states they may or may not send a repair technician under warranty to your home. 5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing TV for the price

    A.J. · December 9, 2024

Simply amazing. I have had Sony and Samsung TVs in the past. I was debating between this TV and Sony's Mini LED which was on Sale for $500 more than this TV. I opted for this TV, mostly because of the nits and the Included Sub Woofer..Pros:1- Amazing sound, no need for a sound system or sound bar for majority of content. For HDR movies with action, I use my sound system. The sound quality is not as good as a sound system, however, it is almost as good as most sound bars!2- The picture quality is unmatched, although it is an 8 bit+FRC panel and not a native 10 bit panel, I cannot tell the difference. True 10 bit would be a good spec to have though. Local dimming is flawless, and fantastic. I have never seen whiter whites and blacker blacks on any monitor or TV, including OLEDs.3- The ergonomics of the TV and the stand, and packaging. Easy to unbox and install very smart design all around.Cons:1- The Android TV OS (Hisense's port) on this TV is a little laggy. Probably due to the low end processor that runs it, and nub developers who ported it. It is most obvious by the volume indicator delay.Overall, a very good TV, and Hisense is on a path to be big competition for the likes of Sony. Someday Chinese manufacturers will learn not to cut corners (cheap panel, and processor) when they build high end products. The TV at $900 on sale is a good deal, at MSRP of $1499 is a non-starter.
