The computer I replaced was 14 years old and was top of the line at the time. The computer was getting slow and took almost 20 minutes to be usable after start up. My new Dell is up and running in less than two minutes and all of the apps run glitch free and much faster than before. I use the computer mostly for photo editing and it has plenty of memory to handle the many layers that some images use. The price of $1,000 was very reasonable for what I needed. It was a huge upgrade from my previous computer at a very good price.

Bought this to replace an aging dell home server I had. This performs so much faster. I upgraded the ram to 64gb and now it's running windows server 2022 with virtual machines... a domain controller, file server, SQL server, backup server, and plex media server.I could not be happier with this machine. Right out of the box it performed flawlessly.

The biggest mistake I've ever made. This machine came with a known Intel faulty cpu that required a microcode update just to remain functional, and now the graphics is unstable and making my brand new monitor flicker and turn off. Also there is a Microsoft update that keeps failing and the rolling back with no explanation. Absolute garbage. Finally, the version of Windows shipped has reached its end of service on October 8th 2024, a week after delivery. Microsoft and Dell are absolute garbage.First of all I just wanna say that I'm a total dell fan boy and have been since Dells humble beginnings. So expect some bias to color this brief review. This Inspiron 3030 was purchased for a small business that I own. Documemt preservation, planning, research, taxes, etc..It's expensive for what I need, but I need a reliable new machine that doesn't have random personality disorders, as in the Frankenstein monsters I've been cobbling together for the last two years.This machine at a glance is very easy on the eyes. Perfect for sitting on the desk or underneath. It's reaponsive, and more than functional. It's beyond quiet while working. A plus for me. The onboard graphics are more than adequate and the only handycap if there was one to mention, would be the storage size. I prefer two terabytes at minimum, because I deal with photos and their storage. In the future there is a upgrade path, I hope. It's difficult to tell. In the meantime I take no issue using external drives and online storage. The only draw back for me is the price, especially when you open the can and look inside. Its very efficiant. No extras. And the power supply appears to be something out of a mini version. All in all, it's something I needed so it's going to have to do.

Don't buy this computer. It is falsely advertised as having an optical drive (DVD read/write). It does not.If I could rate this purchase a zero I would. If I haven't already gone through the motions of setting it up I would return it.
